Small Claims, Large Encounters

These poems are based on a journey to India to meet a spiritual master. They are at once lyrical, humorous, and honest and called "defiantly radiant" by Diana Hume George in  The Spoon River Poetry Review.  Celebrated for their craft as well as their spiritual insight, the poems in Small Claims point to the ultimate mystical experience of silence--a silence explored by the Interspiritual writer Lynda Terry in her essay, "Speak Me Into Silence," a line from the end poem "Mystical Discourse" in Small Claims , included in Mature Wayne Teasdale's Nine Elements--and Beyond (Sacred Feet, 2017). Gorgeous photographic illustrations in black and white from different parts of India share intimate reflections of this poetic journey.
