George Gibbs (1870-1942) was an American writer and illustrator for The Saturday Evening Post. He wrote more than forty novels, many of them romantic adventures and mysteries, and numerous short stories.

Almost gave up on this one, now I’m glad I didn't. Its plot turned out to be one of my favorites, marriage of convenience. The couple are married at the beginning of it and not for love, but because “it just happened”. The only thing I didn’t like or cared for was the business world, and there was plenty about it in this book. Admirable writing style, keeps you wondering and making the wrong conclusions -but I made some right ones- and it has a very satisfying ending.
