My name is Lucan De Clemmente and I live outside of Charlottesville, Virginia on a vast estate called Dura Headquarters. I have lived here for many years becoming a caretaker of sorts for a consortium of women called Amazona or better known as Amazons.
Yes, they are quite a group that carries the name of Dura. Generally they leave me in peace here on this property to write and come up with my inventions but some are my friends who I drink with, play poker, hunt and help them when they need a token male.
I have lived here on Dura Headquarters for hundreds of years for I am vampire.
I have no horrible tale to tell of my death and turning for I am a natural born vampire. My father Rubius De Clemmente is the heir to the title of King of Vampires so I was raised in an affluent and loving home by my father and my Amazona mother Marisalla. She decided just recently within the past one hundred years to become vampire which has added to my father’s joy and the security and safety of my family.
My younger sister Melody has just married a Lycan named Mikal Tosca, a doctor among the immortals. Yes, I know. It was quite the news in the vampire community too. But if Melody wants him, so be it. Amour. Amour.
My youngest sibling is studying to be a doctor. Yes, He takes night classes. Very Amusing.
My life has taken a turn recently that has greatly puzzled me and it all started with the surprising passing of my best friend Mercia Dura. She was the one I would drink with and play cards. We hunted together and generally laughed a lot. This sad tiding of her death was brought to me by her relative and heir, Shayne Dura when she burst into my home planning to stay for four months at Dura Headquarters for a long vacation from her government high level security position.
It proved to be a very embarrassing and intense meeting being we were not prepared for meeting each other or the confrontations afterwards. Needless to say I thought she would be the bane of my existence but she has become something I never expected. No, I didn’t see this train coming and I’m not sure if I would have tried to escape if I had known. For in the hundreds of years I have lived here I have never taken a mate. Yes, I am lonely and Shayne is driving me crazy!

I’m to be four hundred years in December and I am just now getting bit by ‘the love bug’ and happily, I have the desire to scratch. I think I have found my mate.
What the hell do I do now?

Your Faithful Servant,
LUCAN

Thanks to all my readers. To those that send reviews and those that send me email. I appreciate all your thoughts. I like it that others enjoy reading my stories as much as I like writing them.

If there is one thing I like It's a really good story. I will have to admit, I love happy endings. I love family, true love and devotion. That is at the heart of all my stories.

The women don't have to be perfect. I prefer they aren't. And the men? They don't have to be perfect either although most of my male characters would swear they were.
People have flaws and these wonderful flaws I love to develop in my stories. It creates some of the rare characters that I love to explore. It's what makes being human interesting to me and all my stories have someone who has very clear-cut flaws.
I write stories that entertain me. Doing that, I believe I entertain others as well and...it keeps me out of trouble.
