The man who looked after the weather said to his son, “Tom, it’s time you learnt how to do my job. I’m going into town tomorrow and I want you to look after the weather huts.” “Yes, Father, I can do that,” Tom said with a smile. So the next morning Tom waved bye to his Father as he got into his van. His father called out, “Watch out for the bears!” “Watch out for the what?” Tom called back. “The bears that live in the forest!” his father shouted. Tom shook his head. Bears that lived in the forest! He’d never seen any bears. What was his father talking about?

What did I like? I have been reading quite a few of this authors books and I have fallen in love with them. They delightful, full of imagination and laughter, colorful with lots of illustrations and great source for today’s children to learn some values, something that this world is lacking and we really need more authors to take the time and contribute to this area.
What will you like? Cute storyline, well developed characters that will attract the eye of your child with lots of illustrations that are suited to children, every story filled with a source of value learning and yet will keep you child involved with the idea of the story. Not only will this one give your child the idea of politeness but also the art of giving beyond themselves, helpfulness and caring for others. Enjoy this along with your child and become involved in their learning. Not only will they learn but they and you will also be very amused.
This is an entertaining little story that cleverly uses a style reminiscent of, but quite different from, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Perfect for different Bear voices to be used when telling to kiddies, or teaching them to use as they read them out loud.
A cute little story about the son of the Weather Man who keep all the different weather conditions, fog, cloud, rainbow, locked in separate huts. Tom is left in charge one day but warned to watch out for the bears. He isn't too sure why, but he soon finds out, as they proceed to get into the 'weather huts' and let the weather out. To be honest the story didn't make too much sense to me but, having said that, if it had been aimed at younger children and with ample colourful illustrations, similar to the cover, I think it would have worked much better. I could imagine lovely illustrations of bears sliding down rainbows and wearing cloud vests! As text only and aimed at 6 years plus it didn't work quite so well for me.
