Naturally, I have yet to read book one and now I really must. Dark Prophet is an excellent sequel (actually from my perspective just an excellent book - I also watched the Godfather: Part 2 first, so there you go) that has you turning pages faster than a very quick page turning thing. Koa is a like a day-walker, a half vampire that can exist under sunlight and can fly too! Together with Halston, they have to try and stop Bund. Will they be able to do it? Are they strong enough? The ending will you have shocked and clamouring for more. I'm also clamouring for more, though perhaps I should start with book one first. Excellent characters, excellent story. A must read.

I can't even begin to express how much I loved this book! I started it this morning and did not put it down until I'd devoured every single page. It was just so brilliantly written and paced perfectly that I was just so enthralled in the story that I just had to know what happened.

Halston was a favourite of mine in the first book, and yet again K.N. Lee just had me swooning at his every word, action and look. *sigh* I am so in love with him. I felt my heart leaping in my chest when Koa's past was revealed, a past that includes a long lost love that has been returned to her, and I really hoped that Koa wouldn't forget the new life she had made for herself and the connection that she shared with Halston, now that memories of her past had been returned to her.

The action and drama in this book was paced perfectly, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout, biting my lip and glaring at anyone who dared interrupt me when I was reading. I loved seeing how the allegiances changed throughout this story, and those who we thought we could trust turned to other sides, and what we thought was the truth is far from it. This really brought the suspense to a whole new level and I felt giddy with nerves and excitement as everything that Koa was fighting for began to change.

A brilliant continuation of the Chronicles of Koa series, and I CAN'T WAIT to see what happens next. I am addicted!!

Sequels can be tricky things, but this one rocks. It hits all the right notes of continuing the story, developing the characters, and exceeding expectations.
Starting where the first book leaves off, you are immediately thrust into the action. Struggling with the memories of her past, Koa not only has to escape an army of Netherworld enemies, but also has to find a way to reconcile her feelings for her new and past love. When that army succeeds in breaking through to the human world, how far Koa will have to go to protect the world from the evil Vampire king and his demon?
If only Koa could focus on one things at a time. But nothing goes easy for her. Instead of just being able to focusing to save the world and free her mother from her curse, she must first come to grips with her emotions and decide which person holds her heart… and who can truly be trusted.
This is an action packed book that successfully adds and continues the story started in the first book, and leaves you hanging for more.
If you like vampires, romance, and action, this is the book for you.

Koa and her non-human allies are all that stand in the way of vampiric King Greggan, who is ready to unleash the Netherworld demons to enslave the human world. This is deliciously dark, with graphic violence throughout.

Dark Prophet picks up right where that frustrating cliff-hanger in the first book left off. In the middle of a battle in the Netherworld, with Koa awakening memories that she didn't know she had lost.
That first realisation - wow. The first book leads you to believe that Koa is the Princess to vampire royalty, Jax. A young, handsome Netherworld vampire and one of the good guys (relatively speaking).

It then follows in a wild ride to discover allies and stop Greggan, and the unpredictable demonic Bund, who tear through England's population of humans and vampires alike. They must also find out how to remove the curse from Koa's mother, after all, no one wants their most powerful weapon stuck as a cat.

I did enjoy this book, although not as much as the first one if I'm completely honest.
From the start, the story splits off in several different directions, to follow Koa; to follow Halston; to follow Alice and Raven; to follow King Greggan... After the first book just following Koa's story (for the main part), I found it very hard to get into. I will say the second half is better than the first, when the stories all begin to merge and tie together.

I think my favourite character in this book was probably Halston (or Ian, Ian was cool). It very much follows his journey and his choices, and how far he's willing to fall.
It was a shame with Koa - in book one I loved her, she was a spunky, kick-ass fighter in every sense of the word. In Dark Prophet, I felt that she held back a lot. Of course, it's understandable when you've just had a hellish new history dumped on you, but I missed the old Koa.

Anyways, a good story. Netherworld and Dark Prophet are simply two halves of a story, both need to be read to complete it. I imagine these can be read as a "two-part-standalone" (yes, I know I made that up) within the rest of the series.

I'd give this a 3.5 out of 5; but I guess I'll round it up to 4 for tidiness.

Having received this copy for an honest review by the author, I have to say this is a real page turner and very original!
From the very first page to all the twists and turns throughout the book, the creative style of K.N. Lee has mastered the art of keeping the story-line flowing and exciting.

Book two in this excellent series is another winner. It’s a thrill ride that doesn’t let up. I was totally vested in the characters and the unique supernatural plot. The story starts where book one left off. Koa must escape an army of Netherworld enemies, and she needs to reconcile her feelings for two loves. The adventure, vampires, and romance were a great escape for me.

"Dark Prophet: Book Two of the Chronicles of Koa" by K.N Lee is an excellent and original vampire story with romance, action and a while new (nether)world thrown in.
Koa is a great lead character who meets her multitude of tasks and her enemies head on. I read this book out of sequence but enjoyed it all the same. A great read.

This book was awesome! You feel like you're right in the action, you laugh with the characters, you cry for them, you get anxious as your turn the pages. By far one of my favorite vampire series I have read. Cannot wait for the next book!

K.N Lee is an author to follow that is for sure. She certainly knows how to write a good book but be warned, I think she has great plans on causing widespread addiction in the need to read more of her books ;-)

Koa sure seems to have a lot going on and it is not all good. Not only is Koa battling feelings for two men (Halston & Jax) she and her allies have to battle the vampire king Greggan, who has come up from the Netherworld to reek havoc among the humans and non humans alike. I found this to be fast paced and was not able to put it down. The return of the hidden memories totally adds to the story.

The characters are all superbly created, they each have their own unique qualities that just ooze out of every page, you will be swooning and gasping and probably cursing lol its soo good. The description that has been put into each of the scenes leaves no doubt as to what the author was seeing on writing them.

I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to leave an honest review because everyone should know when there are great books to be read. Don't forget to read Netherworld first.

So everything goes to hell. We still don't know what's up with Kao and everyone wanting her for something or other.
The thing is, Kao is supposed to be a super fighter and blablabla but lately everyone as been kicking her ass. I mean it's annoying when the good guys always win but in this book they mainly never do and when they do, it only make things worse.
Look at what happened with Halston. Seriously!
I'm super surprised that none of the main characters have died yet, considering that they escape death in one way or another again and again.
I really hate Victor and all the angels I guess, like what judgemental creature, talk about being perfect with that mindset, I don't think so.
And yet again another cliffhanger....

“Some vampires are made. One was born to change the world.”

OK, I’m suffering from overload. This book was both overwhelming and astoundingly great. I’m not even going to try to summarize it as too much happened (and the kindle blurb gives a summary that works perfectly fine without giving anything away). Despite that the plot was easy to follow. Koa and Halston are superbly crafted, layered and complex characters that work perfectly with this amazing plot. Great characters and great writing. The only downside is that now I’m already salivating to read the next book.

Highly recommended.

Dark Prophet is the second book in the Chronicles of KOA series. This should not be read as a standalone as it starts where the first book ended and ends in a cliffhanger. There is violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that information here. Just like the first book, there are twists and turns to keep you riveted while reading. I can't wait to read the next book!

Since I own the entire series I figured I would read it back to back and boy oh boy this book was more than the first. The action, suspense, twist and turns and the epic battles, both emotional and physical, kept me turning the pages wanting more. Now I am going to go read the conclusion to this epic trilogy

This is a very good read with an imaginative storyline and developed characters. This second book in the series continues where book 1 ends and is entertaining and fast-paced. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Disappointing

This book was a bit of a letdown. It had so much potential but didn't live up to it. It seemed to leave out some important parts. Nevertheless I did like reading it.

Today I’m having a book, which has been on my currently reading list for about a year. Yes, this one is from the series that I started but unexpectedly stopped reading near the end of the book. This is a second book in the series, and if you haven’t read the first one yet, you can find the review as well as the link right here!

I enjoyed it a lot as many secrets were unraveled. We got to see Koa in different situations, and of course reading about the Netherworld was simply fantastic. New and fascinating characters; some major plans to rule over human kind, duty and honor, love and ambitions. Everything is in this book. You name it, and of course a good chunk of action to top all of that! Were you as determined as me to read the second book? If so, what are you waiting for? There’s a third book coming out soon, or it has already been released? Well, let me just tell you one thing. I went to kick Koa’s ass for choosing Halston. I mean it in every possible way! I just reread my review for the first book and even there I was not all that fond of him. I was team Jax before he even appeared!

I guess he earned some points at the end of the book, but he still lost them as soon as he disappeared. One thing that I didn’t get was why the author made him so ridiculously strong as soon as he transformed. I would have loved to see a full-blown battle between him and Bund. The book is a good sequel, and no matter what you say there’s still a lot to discuss in 3rd book, especially Raven’s heritage! I hope you enjoy it to your fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO

Wow, what a shocking ending! Koa, the half-blood, has her memories back and they aren’t pleasant. With her are brother and sister Jax, her first love and prophet, and Evina, the temptress. They are racing to escape the Netherworld after leaving Halston, the angel, behind to deal with the wraith. Koa is torn between the attractive Jax of her past and Halston who can never have her. She still doesn’t know what her other half is but some mysterious abilities start to show themselves meaning there is even more to her than she or her mother knew.
Koa has some decisions to make and seems to have done some growing up after her trip to the Netherworld. Halston also has to figure out what he wants as if he plans to return to Heaven, he can’t have Koa and so far he has been unclear with her how he feels. There are so many competing factions, some that no one knows about, it is impossible to know who to trust. I love the action scenes. They are well choreographed. I also love the ease with which the author makes the story multicultural. The feel is so natural. The ending is so shocking and exciting I can’t wait for the conclusion to this trilogy.

Koa has escaped from the Netherworld with some old friends and the restoration of unpleasant memories. She and her companions must find a way to stop King Greggan before he takes over the human world. But is Greggan really the worst thing they have to fear?

Dark Prophet takes up where Netherworld left off, with Koa and her two companions fleeing through the Netherworld Gate. But more danger awaits them all back in the human world. Koa thinks she knows who her friends are, who her enemies are, and where her loyalties lie, but she couldn't be more wrong. A fight is coming and by the time the dust clears, nothing will ever be the same.

Full of excitement, romance, and surprises around every turn, Dark Prophet is sure to delight fans of Koa and Halston, and leave them wanting more.

Two words... "Halstooooon! Nooooooo!"

After liking book 1 so much I allowed myself the rare treat of buying book two of the Koa Chronicles (my life doesn't often allow for serial reading).
The only disappointment is that book 3 isn't out yet. KN Lee...you can't leave me like this! I need to know what happens next!!

Very well written (I will easily forgive the occasional spelling or grammatical hiccup) as these books are written beautifully.
Full of description so you can see, smell and feel the world KN Lee creates, but not so much it becomes boring.

I was even late back from my lunch break one day this week as I had been in the throes of a chapter.

Writing Dark Prophet: The Chronicles of Koa Book Two was an incredible experience. I took my deepest fears and watched Koa persevere through them. The Chronicles of Koa series is my interpretation of urban paranormal fantasy mixed with epic fantasy. I grew up reading epic fantasy, and so I wanted to bring the swords and sorcery, and princesses and princes versus evil to this story. Combine those factors with the creatures I created, their special abilities, and a mixture of mythology, and I believe anyone that loves a good fantasy with a unique twist will enjoy this book!

Dark Prophet:The Chronicles Of Koa Book Two

K.N. Lee is a very good writer. I was a bit upset that all the books aren't included on Kindle Unlimited. Only the first one is. The series was good enough that I went ahead and purchased this one & am going to buy the third one also. This series weaves itself around Koa. A young woman who is a half vampire with the need for justice and vengeance. Things aren't as they seem to be. Which has Koa very mistrustful of those around her.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I am amazed at how good this sequel is. Usually sequels loose some of their punch but not this time. The excitement starts with the first page and all the way thru you are slammed by one reveal after another, one twist follows the next. A Great read with characters you can't help but become a part of. Well done. Can't wait to read book 3.
