I got hooked on this series after reading A Lush Betrayal. I didn't like Tammy at all in A Lush Betrayal but I did pity her. So I really have no idea how I'll react to her in this book.

Fortunately, I ended up liking this book and liking Tammy as well. And Walsh, of course. I still liked the first book better though because Mel's character is more relatable to me but other than, the all the emotions I felt reading the first book is still there.

I thoroughly enjoyed Walsh even more. He's a very broken character and his battle with his addiction is heartbreaking. I was rooting for him hard.

One of the elements that I enjoyed as well as how the band got together. Although Lush, the band, was no more, Lush as a family is still there. Broken and fraught with tension and misunderstanding but still there.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. ♥

Sad. Heartbreaking. Loving. Sweet. Swoon Worthy. Sexy.

This book picks up right where A Lush Betrayal ended. Joss and Mel's story was great, but I LOVED Tammy and Walsh's even more! I couldn't tear myself away from this book. I'm in awe of their love.

Tammy and Walsh, the drummer for Lush, have been in love since they were 14. She's always felt like part of the band, right along with the guys, because she's been there from the beginning and now helps manage them. It was a devastating blow to everyone when Mike exposed the secret. That Tammy cheated on her fiancé, Walsh, with his best friend, Joss, the lead singer of Lush. Of course, the band couldn't survive that shocking revelation, and everyone ended up going their separate ways.

Tammy takes six months to get herself healthy after experiencing a nervous breakdown from the stress of keeping her secret and then sets out, determined to win Walsh back. She doesn't realize the plan might backfire in her face and that only Walsh can decide if he wants to give their relationship another chance.

We get to see a different side of Tammy in this book, which is great because after, ALB, I didn't really like her. Seeing her side of the story really changed my opinion. I don't condone cheating for any reason, but it was heartbreaking having to watch her suffer the consequences of her mistake. I could almost understand how she ended up in Joss' arms. They were both devastated and thought they had lost Walsh to his alcoholism. Joss was one of her best friends and they both just wanted to feel a connection, to comfort one another. But, they went about it the wrong way.

Walsh is an alcoholic and trying to get over losing his best friend, his band and the girl he's loved for most of his life. After finding out about the betrayal, he ends up on a farm in Texas, doing manual labor and working the AA program. He's just fighting to survive and has distanced himself from everyone in the band, except Mike. He's stunned when Tammy shows up and tries to immerse herself in his life. He loves her, but doesn't think he can get over her betrayal, so he pushes her away. It's such a struggle between the two of them, and at times it's hard to watch, because you know they belong together. He makes a few bad choices and I just wanted to cry! But, taking control of his own life and getting back to playing the drums ends up being cathartic for him.

"As much as I hate it, Tammy, as much as I hate what you did, what I did, what i feel when I'm near you - I'll always love you."

I just adore Walsh! He's broken and dealing with his own demons, but he's such a nice guy and he truly loves Tammy. We get a glimpse of their past together, and I have to say, the proposal had me SWOONING, big time!

The band is still broken up, but they manage to find their way back together, because they are family after-all. I'm hoping we get Colin and Marsha's story next. I'm dying to know what's going on with those two.

I don't know how Laurence does it, but she just gets better every time. One thing that continually impresses me about the author is her deep understanding of human nature and the way she finds just the right words to convey it on paper. She always find a way to tackle the tough issues with grace and understanding.

It was great to see my favorite characters back in action again and Walsh is my new favorite hero! The heartbreak between Walsh and Tammy is so real it had me tearing up right along with them. Their story pulls at the heart on so many levels. This is a page-turning novel about love, addiction, and friendship that will satisfy fans of the Lush series and then some. I loved it!

This was an amazing book about two broken people trying to recover, heal, and move on with their lives. This book deals with some seriously hard issues and readers should caution themselves before reading it. With that said, I loved this book. I loved the way the author handled these delicate issues because so many people face them every day.

When we met Walsh and Tammy in book one, it seemed as though while they were facing demons, they would make it through because of how strong their relationship was. Then we got to the end of book one and watched them completely fall apart and be torn away from each other. This book is about both Tammy and Walsh hitting rock bottom and learning to love themselves and then learn to love each other (in a healthy way).

While Tammy was portrayed as more of a villain in book one, we really got to see her in book two and my poor opinions of her have changed. She was weak. She was strong. She was a fighter. She was determined. She loved fiercely. She was loyal to her family and friends. She never gave up. She fought until the end, until she thought should couldn't fight anymore. She really discovered herself and grew up in this book and became a woman she could be proud of.

Walsh, Walsh, Walsh. What can I say? He is one of those guys you love to hate! I felt for him in book one at the end. He faced the ultimate betrayal by his fiancé and best friend/brother. In this book, Walsh faces ALL of his demons head on. We watch his struggle with his alcoholism. We watch his struggle with sobriety. We watch him learn to love himself. He was weak. He was strong. He was a fighter. He was loyal. He was true to himself. We really got to see Walsh battle his personal demons and learn to heal from the inside out.

The love and chemistry between Walsh and Tammy was OFF THE CHARTS! They were amazing when they wee together, but this book was really more about healing, acceptance and moving on. It was about two people who had to heal and accept their lives in order to be together. It was about to unhealthy people learning to accept their choices and learning to make the right ones. The push and pull between these two was amazing. They would give in only to step back ten more steps and have to start all over again.

This book picks up where book one ended. Walsh is living on a recovery ranch fighting for his sobriety. Tammy is healing from her breakdown and learning to cope. Tammy comes to the ranch where Walsh is wanting to reconnect and get back what they had. Walsh is not as accepting and really fights to keep Tammy away though she has never really left his heart. Can these two make it? Will they get back together? Or will their relationship just be a thing of the past, just memories? You will have to read to find out!

I loved revisiting with Joss and Mel to see how their lives ended up. I loved how Matt played an important role in this book though I am on the fence about him. I was glad to see Colin and how his life has turned out post-Lush! It was good to see the bandmates reunite after such lost time!

I am on pins and needles for Colin and Matt's books! I cannot freaking wait. I have a sneaking suspicion we will see Colin next and Matt will be last.

I thought A Lush Betrayal (Lush #1)with Joss was bad on my heart and emotions but I was wrong. Walsh has my head spinning and this ride is worse than any roller coaster. But well worth it. After the betrayal of Joss and Tammy, Walsh leaves, them and the band. He goes to a ranch in Texas for recovering alcoholics. Mike follows him, a band member that wants to be there if he needs a friend. Walsh seems to be doing OK until Tammy shows up and he falls even further into despair. Can he make Tammy see that they are no good for each other? Will he be able to stop hurting and forgive those that were closest to him? It takes a lot of hurt, pain and understanding in a story to have me walking away in the middle and it has only happened a few times but reading this one, I have had to walk away a few times but found myself eager to get back and find out what happens next. It was almost like reading a suspense thriller, expecting the unexpected. Walsh has stolen my heart and has buried himself deep into my soul. And I love every minute of it.
If you are looking for a fantastic series, then please grab A Lush Betrayal (Lush #1) and For the Love of a Lush (Lush #2), you will not regret it and you will be wanting more. I can't wait to see what Selena comes up with next. she is always upping the level of emotions in each and every story she writes and I am loving every single word of every story.

5 Glowing Stars!!

Selena Laurence does it again - Hold onto your heart strings ladies!!

Being part of Selena's fantastic street team I received an ARC of this book I couldn't wait to get started on it.

This is Walsh & Tammy's story. Walsh is the drummer of the recently split band Lush and if you've read (book 1) A Lush Betrayal, then you will know where this book picks up from. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so will try not to go into too much detail but read the blurb and you will get the gist.

For the Love of a Lush tugged at my heartstrings - you could feel both Walsh's and Tammy's turmoil. This book deals with alcoholism and depression which is a very difficult subject and I should imagine quite hard to write about but Selena tackled it wonderfully with tact and care but in a realistic manner.

I absolutely love Walsh & Tammy, they just fit like a glove and are perfect for one an other but as we know the path to true love never runs smoothly and theirs is like a dirt track that's full of pot holes and pits but all through this their love is still present and so their story begins.

Walsh is so, so incredibly sexy as are all the Lush guys and the sexual tension is sizzling, cold shower required at times I can tell you.

This series is one of my all time favourites, all Selena needs to do now is crack on and write book 3 :)Mike's story and I reckon that will be a scorcher as I'm rather fond of the bad boy.

As for the second book in this series, I have to say I had a hard time with this one. The sheer deviation both characters feel from the fall out of the reveal in the first book was nearly too much to read. Pretty soon into the roller coaster, I was rooting for them to just break it off and be done.

Character motives were often unclear. Without spoilers to shed light onto the specifics, I will say that I often felt confused, needing to read parts again since either Tammy or Walsh jumped into actions that made no sense. My head spun trying to keep up. I still am not clear if I like either one of them much, but I kept at it through the book, making the "he's an alcoholic" and "she's recovering from depression" arguments more than should have been necessary. How come, with all these sponsors and therapists, no one ever suggested couple's therapy? Never did two people need it more.

Because of this, the ending seemed so unbelievable. There was no resolution; they just jumped from point A to end point Z skipping all the other vital points that one of their friends, or at the very least, his sponsor and/or her therapist should have urged them to visit.

The roller coaster dragged; the ending seemed rushed. This time, I'm not sure I want to continue with the series. I think I'll take a break from it for a book or two. Since Mike is not at all a guy I particularly like, I'm not sure I want to read his story.

Six months after their world fell apart, Walsh hangs on to his sobriety by a thread and Tammy will do anything to get the man she has loved most of her life to forgive her and start again, but love is complicated and it may not be enough to fix their broken lives.

Honestly, I was only going to read a chapter of this book to get a feel for it then start the series from the beginning. But after I started, I just couldn't put it down which is somewhat ironic given the plot is surrounded by addiction.
Selena Laurence does a phenomenal job of opening the minds of readers to show that past mistakes that seem unforgivable may be more about loss than selfishness and pulls them into the raw emotion of what pushed these characters to their limit in the first place. The intimacy between Walsh and Tammy is heartbreakingly beautiful and the connection they share can never be erased no matter how much they keep their distance.

The writing of the inner voice of both these characters is flawless.

The dialogue is realistic and the pace of this love story is not rushed. This is not just about the isolation of recovery and finding self-worth but also about repairing the bond of friendship and family because no one heals a damaged soul alone.
For the Love of a Lush is a sexy, intense, a little painful and heartwarming story that I recommend highly.

I love everything about this series. Walsh and Tammy have this amazing relationship before everything went south. They had been together forever and still felt the same way about each other. They were ingrained in each others DNA. But when the truth about Tammy and Joss came out, Walsh couldn't take it. He needed to get away from Tammy and everything else and focus on himself and not going back to drinking.

Tammy had time and therapy to get over the events that led to the big emotional mess but she never got past her love and need for Walsh. So she sets out to get him back. To make him realize they are meant for each other and can overcome anything.

This book was so emotional. I felt every second of it. There is a kind of magic in some books. They make you feel everything the characters feel. You become the book and everything in it. This was completely one of those books. I was mad and I was pulled apart with them. This book evoked such emotion in me. It is so relatable.

It built this relationship and it felt so reaffirming when they were able to work everything out. This may be a fiction but it gives me faith in reality. That's a powerful thing.

FOR THE LOVE OF A LUSH by Selena Laurence is a beautifully written depiction of friendship, heartbreak, addiction, recovery, redemption and true love that stands the test of time and trials. This second book in the LUSH series tells the story of Walsh and Tammy, and the other members of the rock band LUSH who had all been lifetime friends, but have now been torn apart by addiction and betrayal. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend you read the first book in this amazing series. A LUSH BETRAYAL focuses on Joss and Mel's love story, but also details the events that lead up to the breakup of the band and everyone going their separate ways.

In the aftermath of the band's breakup (and his breakup from Tammy), Walsh goes off by himself to stay at a recovery ranch in Texas. He is focused on getting his life back together by working his AA steps, fighting his alcoholism, and maintaining his sobriety. After losing the love of his life and his best friend due to their betrayal staying clean and sober takes everything he has, so he has cut off all connections to his former life until Mike finds him and convinces him to allow him to come out and get a job on the same ranch.

Tammy has also been working on her recovery from the nervous breakdown she suffered but with the help of a therapist feels strong enough to take control of her life back. And to her, her life is Walsh. She still loves him fiercely and believes they are meant to be together, that they are truly one, and there is no life for her without him. So Tammy heads to Texas to get her man back and stubbornly fights for him no matter how many times he tells her to leave. No matter how many times he tells her they are done. Because he has also told her he still loves her. That he hates it, but he will always love her.

For the Love of a Lush is a very well written story of the very real emotional journey Walsh and Tammy take before they find themselves. Before they are ready to take a chance on each other or anyone else again. It was an intense read and a raw portrayal of the difficulties of an alcoholic and how their addiction affects those who love him, of the struggle it takes to forgive themselves and ask for the forgiveness of those they've harmed - especially when those same people have harmed them as well. It is also the story of unconditional and abiding love, both in romantic relationships and the solid love of friends who have been like family. This book is touching and will bring tears, but is also infused with humor and characterizations that will make you smile. For the Love of a Lush is balanced, well-written, and definitely kept me hungry for every word as I hoped for Walsh and Tammy's HEA. Selena Laurence is an author who never disappoints. This was an incredible read! 4 stars

My goodness.

Betrayal and addiction are too powerful things.

For Walsh and Tammy, these two things have controlled their lives for way too long. They fell in love when they were just 14 years old, and they thought nothing would ever break them apart.

Addiction. It can come in many forms. For Walsh, it was alcohol. He started drinking at a young age and it only got worse. To the point that Tammy thought he would drink himself to death. With the help of Walsh's best friend, Joss, Tammy put Walsh in a rehab facility. But when she realizes that he will never be the same, what is she to do?

Betrayal. Tammy and Joss didn't mean for it to happen. It just did. They needed comfort to help them through this difficult time with their best friend. They had no clue that that one action would cost them friendship, a job, a band, and the love of Tammy's life.

After Walsh up and leaves without so much as a proper goodbye, Tammy is determined to find him and make things right. She follows him to Texas where he is working at a ranch that is ran by a couple that help people with alcoholism. Walsh was less than thrilled to see her, and he tried his hardest to get her to leave.

"Let's just accept that we hurt each other more than we ever should have and that being around each other only makes it worse."

Tammy doesn't back down that easily. She refuses to leave until they have worked through ther issues. But, some issues are just too hard to work through. Demons haunt you, and it's so difficult to recover completely. Let alone forgive someone.

Selena did such a good job showing a difficult side of alcoholism. Well, no part of it is easy, but a lot of people don't see the ends and outs of it all. My heart broke for Walsh. You feel for Tammy so much, too. But poor Walsh has so many demons and he puts himself down because he doesn't feel worthy enough for the love Tammy wants to give him. Heart breaking!!!

Tammy, that girl is a determined chick! Wow! I give her major props to handle what she did with such a great attitude. I kind of wanted to reach in a strange her a few times though. hehe.

I truly really loved this book and I can't wait for Mike's story next! Eeeek! More Lush, PLEASE!!!

This is book two in the Lush series, and continues on from where book one finished.

The band is scattered, and Walsh has been "hiding out" for the last six months, trying to come to terms with his problems... some self inflicted, some inflicted by those nearest and dearest to him.
I love that these stories don't concentrate solely one on couple's problems as such, but rather, how the actions of two of the group affect them all. It is a lot about growing up and acceptance, and how to handle what life throws at you.
Walsh is discovering that Real Life is not all sweet and pretty, and struggles with his alcoholism. When Tammy turns up six months after the horrible split, looking to win Walsh back one way or another, it all turns to custard, and Walsh turns to the bottle. Tammy realizes things are never going to be like they were, and packs her bags and leaves.
The boys have come to an understanding and seem to have finally accepted the situation, and all appears, forgiven if not forgotten.
What a great series, and I do hope it's not going to end here, even though there is a HEA. I want all the guys to get that.

TammyI feel tears burn in my eyes. He uses the word mad, and it comes out in barroom brawls, but what I hear—the emotion behind the words—is sadness. He’s so very, very sad. And in this moment, I will do anything to make him feel better, give whatever I have to in order to restore peace to this beautiful man’s heart.

If I could give this book a million stars, I would...it's that good! It picks up with the aftermath and consequences that occurred in the first book. Walsh and Tammy are both very damaged souls that are in great pain. This is what makes this story so special to me. It's about two utterly broken souls that have been intertwined most of their lives and how they decide to move on...either apart or fighting their own demons to make it back to each other but as healthier people.

I loved seeing the how the relationship of Walsh and Tammy began in their 9th grade Algebra class.


"...he's looking at me. The real me, like I matter, and I think maybe I could have him look at me that way forever."

I thought these flashbacks really illustrated how very connected they were and how the fear of losing Walsh to alcoholism really impacted her and influenced the decisions she made which were HORRIBLE! I also got to see how Walsh became the alcoholic that he did, what a slippery, gradual slope it is, how it affects the people who love him, and how they are involved in the vicious cycle.

It goes without saying that I liked Tammy much better in this book than I did the first one. It was nice seeing how Walsh and Tammy grew as individuals and what a hard job it was to work on themselves before they could work on being a couple. They were so connected at such a young age and for so long that they lost a part of their own identities. This wasn't a quick fix but an everyday struggle that was hard. This helped me connect with their characters and really care about them.

I read this in less than 24 hours, and it was worth every moment of sleep that I lost. If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it. Thank you, Selena, for writing such a deep love story that involved serious issues that you dealt with in your usual graceful and sensitive way. I hope can help those of us who have been affected by this horrible disease. It's so good to know that there is light at the end of that long tunnel!

I knew this book was going to be a hard one emotionally to read. The good ones usually are, but this book. Sigh. This book gets the emotions just right. Walsh and Tammy have a lot of history and I don’t think there is a single character who hasn’t been a pivotal part of that history. Lush, the band, is no more and the members who were once a family are all at different crossroads in healing and finding their new paths. Tammy and Walsh have been especially effected by the events leading to Lush’s downfall and finding their way back to each other is not an easy road. My heart broke for both of them and I understood their pain. Alcoholism and the demons that come with it are NEVER cured. But it all comes down to how you choose to live with the disease and/or a loved one effected by it.
Selena handled Walsh and Tammy’s story with just the right amount of drama and angst. And the love scenes (even the flashbacks) were sexy and powerful. They weren’t gratuitous but they were more pieces of insight into how much Tammy and Walsh fit and work together. And their journey back to each other was paced beautifully. Depression and alcoholism are never easily handled or talked about, but I think Walsh and Tammy have the love to sustain them through the hard times. They’ve already been through so much and seeing them get their happy was an immensely enjoyable read!
And I got more of my Mike. I’m thinking his happy is around the corner with the little school teacher, Jenny, and I CANNOT wait to see him fall. His rock star image and bad boy ways with women will need some overhauling to make things work with her and after the first two books in the Lush series have blown me away, I have no doubt Mike’s story will too!

Tammy's search for Walsh lands her in Texas at the Double A Ranch where he is working hard to stay sober but what be doesn't realize is that a little help from friends and family will help with his recovery too....but he doesn't realize it until Tammy is gone for good ?....or is she ?

Ronny and Leanna Silva run the Double A Ranch, Ronny a recovering alcoholic himself runs the ranch and is Walsh's sponsor, so when Leannne hires Tammy to help serve lunch and dinner to the ranch workers Ronny isn't sure it is a good idea to have Tammy around Walsh yet until he decides whether he is ready to be around her again. Tammy thinks she is ready with her recovery also but is she really ready to handle life with Walsh again too ??

There tragic life story is truly a LOVE LUSH story !! There are a few new faces in the story...Mrs.S is the BOMB !! This story had you wanting more and more as you kept turning each page ....loved seeing Mike, Colin, Joss and Little D (Megan) too !!

For The Love of Lush picks us where the first book leaves off. Walsh has checked himself into rehang. He is at a ranch trying to finish his recovery.Walsh is trying to stay sober. Being there has helped him out a lot. Walsh has quit the band and his life seems to be different now, but in a good way. Poor Walsh is still reeling from the betrayal of his fiancee. Tammy was his first and only love. They have been together since for 14 years. He is devastated when he found out she slept with his friend and band mate while he was in rehab.
Tammy had traveled to The Double A ranch to win Walsh back. Time has passed and she has been seeing a therapist, trying to piece back together her life. She knows he has wronged Walsh, but she can't see her life without him in it.
I had a hard time liking Tammy. It seemed like the worst possible thing to do to someone is kick them when they are down. To me, sleeping with Walsh's friend was not the best thing for her or his band mate to do when they know he already has problems. I am not a huge fan of cheating in general.

This book deals with addiction, infidelity, recovery, heartache, and most of all the strength of the human spirit, while one is battling their inner demons and how to truly forgive and move past the hurt and anger.

The author tackled two extremely difficult topics; alcoholism and infidelity and she did an excellent job of showing how the characters each had to overcome these challenges.

The book is packed with a lot of emotion and characters the reader comes to love and can't help but root for them, and wanting them to resolve their issues and move on to their happy ending.

FOR THE LOVE OF A LUSH is a heartwarming love story, that will tug at your heartstrings and also give you hours of entertainment, as you get to know each character who are plucked into an environment that is extremely out of their element.

Tammy and Walsh, wow what a roller coaster. I was not a fan of Tammy's in the first book of this series. However in this book you really come to understand her. Even though I do not condone her actions that led to where her and Walsh are at you can see why it happened. Walsh and Tammy have been together since they were 14 years old, they were the perfect couple so much in love. However even their love couldn't keep the demons at bay for Walsh and his alcoholism that led to the demise of their relationship, even though a horrible mistake by Tammy was the ultimate deal breaker. This book was heart wrenching at times and with the past Walsh and Tammy written in so very sweet at other times. For the Love of A Lush follows the very long hard road that it will take for Tammy and Walsh to discover themselves and see if there is anyway to make it back to each other.

What can I say about this book? There is absolutely not one thing I didn't like about it. I seriously adore this series and these characters and am dreading the day the series ends. The characters are so fleshed out and three dimensional that I feel as if they are friends of mine. Can I just say how much I love Walsh?! My love for him knows no bounds. He was flawed, struggling, and at times just a big old mess, but yet still sweet, caring, irresistible Walsh. Whenever I m reading a Lush book, I never want it to end! I just finished and I already have a book hangover :(. I can't wait for the next book and wonder whose story it's going to be---Mike and Jenny? Or Colin and Marsha? Ahhhh! I NEED it now!

After reading A Lush Betrayal, I couldn't wait for this book! I have to say it didn't disappoint! I loved the continuation of Walsh and Tammy's story. It held up to what I was expecting and them some. This story just goes to pprove what true love is really about. If it's really true love, it can hold up to anything and eveything. It was nice to see Walsh make amends with the band and of course with Tammy. It was so touching when he finally just got it and everything clicked in his head that he just couldn't live without her. AWESOME job Selena! Can't wait for more! Thank you!

Though I had a difficult time getting into the rhythm of the first and second books in this series, I did enjoy the story line. When books are written in first person, I have a harder time sticking with them. Also, in both of these books, the chapters alternated back and forth between the two main characters. As I am not used to this format, I think it somewhat detracted from the story line for me. However, by the end of this second book I found the pace, and was very happy with the way the story lines of the main characters ended.

An incredible book dealing with the power of addiction, love and betrayal and the ability to survive them all. Lush's story continues in the second book of the series. After the heartbreak suffered by everyone at the end of book one, this book takes us on the journey of how each character deals with the truths that were exposed and what comes next. Beautifully written, the love and heartache felt most by Walsh and Tammy seep from every page. You won't want to put this one down.

Wow, my friend Selena is a phenom! Her Lush series is a beautiful, sexy, emotional roller coaster ride via a hot rock band and their women. For the Love of a Lush is a sweet story of young love that endures, pain, betrayal and forgiveness, as well as a sensitive portrayal of addiction. Nicely done...a must read!

Amazing, I absolutely loved Walsh and Tammy's story, even more so than Joss and Mel's!

Full of angst, love, betrayal, heartbreak and the ability to forgive, I couldn’t put this one down.

Will be continuing on with this series that for sure as i cant wait to know what the future lie ahead for the rest of the band members.

Defiantly a must read!

This author does a great job telling you what happened in the past without rehashing. And these stores are a blend of real life and dream life. Really enjoying the series and everyone in it so far
