Love is a war in which only the fearless may conquer. The loss of love is a test in survival.

Love. It’s such an understated word. It has the ability to grip you so hard you become completely consumed by it, and when it releases you, you find yourself on your knees. Lilly Parker has me on my knees and I cannot muster the will to stand.

Betrayal. It’s all the worse when it comes from those we love. The pain, that much more intense. The loss, that much more heart breaking. I took a chance on Theodore Ellis and I lost.

How hard is Theo willing to fight for the woman he loves? Can Lilly fight her demons, or will she push away the only man capable of facing them with her?

Conquered is the emotional, gritty second part of Lilly and Theo's story.

*Conquered is the sequel to Besieged and cannot be read as a standalone.*

This book contains strong language and sexual content.

Conquered is book 2 in LP Lovell’s She Who Dares series. It does not work as a standalone and it is necessary to have read Besieged before reading this one.

They say that some things in life are worth fighting for. They also say that if you love something, let it go. How do you fight for someone when to do so would only hurt them? How do you fight, when the other person has already let go? How do you let go of something that is so crucial to your happiness, so fundamental to your being that to lose it is to lose yourself? Is it selfish to try to keep that person? Is it selfish to fight for them?

We rejoin Theo and Lilly soon after the events of the final few pages of Besieged. They are separated after what had appeared to be a beautiful reconciliation and both are in the depths of misery. Theo is drowning his sorrows in expensive Scotch and Lilly has retreated to her brother’s house to lick her wounds. These two were explosive together and their lust and love burned so bright but apart, they are just faded shadows of their former selves. Lilly is determined that the separation will be permanent however much it hurts and Theo is hearing of none of it and is trying every weapon in his considerable arsenal to get her back.

Love is a war, so suit up sugar, because I’m coming for you.

I’ve really enjoyed this series so far from LP Lovell. Being a Brit, I adore that it takes place in London and is littered with British slang that makes me smile but I think what I love the most is that the characters seem so real. Theo may well be a millionaire playboy but he’s a vividly drawn character with just as many flaws as good points and he really does behave like a bit of a dick for large parts of this book. He’s a dick to Cassie, he’s a dick to Lilly and yet I still adored him because, when the chips are down and Lilly desperately needs him, he will stop at nothing to ensure that she is OK and make things right for her. Despite his very strong fuckwit tendencies, his love for Lilly is touching and heartwarming and he’s been in a bleak emotional desolation since he lost her.

Lilly is still a kickass feisty heroine but some of her vulnerabilities are laid bare in Conquered and we begin to hear the story of her and Harry’s childhood and the events that shaped her into the woman she is today. She’s trying hard to hold on to the alpha female persona she’s spent years perfecting but her misery after separating from Theo and her awful past, which is once again rearing its ugly head, are both conspiring to shatter that facade and reveal the lost, lonely and hurt little girl buried inside.

I think it’s safe to say that Theo and Lilly spent a lot of the time in Conquered at war with one another – they’re hissing at each other like a pair of alley cats. Theo is determined to get her back and Lilly is quite sure she’s never going to let Theo in again. They’ve both fallen in love, something that neither of them ever thought possible and being apart has broken their hearts and their pain really is quite palpable. Both Theo’s and Lilly’s past actions have far reaching consequences as the story ramps up in the second half to leave us with the exquisite cruelty of a hangover and now we have to endure the endless months until Surrendered is released!

Once again, the secondary characters are fantastic. Both Hugo and George really stole my heart. Hugo is an incredible manwhore, possibly even a sex addict and I couldn’t help but adore this really rather affable tart. George is one of Lilly’s best friends – he’s gay and they have an enviable bond and he’s right there for her throughout everything.

I smile. I really wish, and definitely not for the first time, that George were straight. He would be my perfect man. If only I think to myself. Alas, the boys get George, and I get left with all the bastards. Still, I get the best friend a girl could ask for. George is that person…you know, the one who would hide all my sex toys if I died. We all need one of those.

So Conquered is a fantastic and worthy sequel to Besieged and we’re left on the precipice of finding out everything at the end of the book. Everything is hanging in the balance and so much is undecided – I’m very much looking forward to all the loose ends getting tied up in Surrendered and Theo and Lilly, at long last, finding some happiness and forgiveness together.

The cover of this book is ultra sexy. A red-head sitting alone as if deep in thought. It could be Lilly Parker. Ah Lilly Parker…..just thinking about Lilly Parker makes me hard! She is one tough stubborn cookie! We get to learn a lot about why she is the way she is, what makes her tick although even at the end of the book, there is still more to reveal. I think she definitely loves Theo but by loving him, she feels that exposes a weakness and Lilly doesn’t like to show weakness at all. I like that she isn’t virginal. I like that she isn’t weak and needy. I like that she is feisty and sassy and could give the Dockers a run for their money on the swearing front!!

I found it quite endearing when Hugo said that Lilly was attracted to Theo for his control, his alpha-maleness and when Theo was wallowing, Hugo told him that Lilly wouldn’t find that attractive. I have to say, Hugo talks a lot of sense. Lilly was attracted to the powerful Theo, not the desperate and needy Theo. Hugo comes across as a walking dick, yet he does come out with quite profound statements! But then he kind of reverts to type, when his eyes are checking out an arse or a pair of tits!

I love the writing style of Ms Lovell. It is very easy to read and non-fussy. She writes a flowing story, follows a time-line, heads her chapter with the person’s POV…oooh and that’s another thing I liked, she writes an excellent male POV.

Oh man, I really hated that this is a trilogy….and yet I love that there’s another book of them. But I hate waiting for a conclusion. I would love a book 3 to resolve all the issues and give them a HEA. Then do a cheeky little novella of them all going off on holiday together or something! OMFG that would be a great and hilarious book!! Can you imagine, Theo, Hugo, Harry, George and the girls on a tropical island!!

Can you tell I absolutely love this motley bunch of characters!! I’m even thinking of storylines for them!!

Hahaha read this book, it’s fucking brilliant!

Lilly Parker is broken, Theo is Broken.

Neither can live without each other.

I was fortunate to have read an early copy of this book and it absolutely blew me away. Remember CONQUERED is not a standalone, and must be read after BESIEGED. It is an absolutely fantastic continuation of Theo and Lilly’s story, filled with unexpected twists and turns and lots of heart-stopping emotion. Do not miss this one!

First, let me say that I love the cover which I find to be incredibly sexy. I imagine this is Lilly Parker. The characters of Lilly and Theo first got under my skin when I read Besieged and I felt every roller coater of emotion with these two throughout Conquered. Lilly can be extremely frustrating at times, but she is one tough cookie and really sticks to her guns no matter what happens. There were certain moments where I thought she was almost being too stubborn, but that is part of her appeal and also part of the drama and angst of this story.

The author write a fantastic and gritty male POV, which I love. My heart broke for Theo during this book as it is so obvious that Lilly is his one true love, but will he really do whatever it takes to get her to realize this? She lives so much in her head that even her friends have a tough time getting her to listen to reason. But there are so many twists in this story, and Lilly is faced with so much, that it is understandable why she acts the way she does.

Once once again I loved the cast of supporting characters and found them all to be quite endearing and very funny and protective of Theo and Lilly. And Theo…what a man! Total yumminess. My review does not do this book justice. Conquered is filled with scorching hot sex scenes, real dialogue, imperfect characters and pure emotion. It does NOT conclude Lilly and Theo’s story and there is another book in this trilogy. I can’t wait for Book 3! I need more Theo NOW!

I read this book as an ARC!

First things first, if you haven't read Besieged... GET ON IT! As I mentioned to the author, Besieged was great, but this, this blew it away!

Be prepared for a cliffhanger ;)

Once I started reading I COULD NOT stop. It is very well written and as a "yankee" girl, I enjoyed the British vocab she tossed in.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great romance read. I don't want to give too much away.

Conquered deserves more than five stars <3

trust me, read it, if you don't you'll be sorry.

WOW I just finished reading this book, and I love it, I can't believe it end it like this, I have to say this book got me on a emotional rollercoaster, this book got me mad and got me in tears sometimes but I love every single minute of it. I read BESIEGED a while back and love it, than I re-read it again and found out that Conquered was out, and let me just say that I can't wait for the next book to be about.

THE story of Theo and Lilly continues in this book, after Lilly find out about Cassie she leave Theo, and is trying to get her life back, but Lilly past is catching up with her, Theo is being drinking like crazy ever since Lilly left him, Theo and Lilly are doing everything to numb the pain that they feel since their break up, into Theo had enough and decide to fight to get her back.

I love the way how Theo is with Lilly, love it how he tried everything to get her back, I love Lilly attitude and how she acts around Theo.

Have to say that in this book we get to know a little more about Lilly path, and why she hates her mother, we also get to see a little more about the other side of Harry, and side that Lilly never seen before, and we also get to see that no matter how much Lilly push Theo away he is not going anywhere.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, I can't wait to see what will happen next, Author LP Lovell Thank You for this awesome series and this amazing characters love them.

I love this woman..and yes, I'm talking about Lp Lovell! This book hooked me and never let me go until the very end. I didn't think I couldn't love Theo more than I already did but I do.
Better start from the beginning..Lilly is at her brother's house, nursing her broken heart, but she has to go back to her life, because there is something important she has to take care of. She scolds herself to be ready and to stop thinking of what can't be.
Theo is broken, just as much as Lilly, and he tries as well to forget and move on, but how can you move on from the only one who makes you feel? He stops wallowing in his own pity and decide that it's time to start and fight for her.
Not telling you much after this..can't or I'll spoil all the fun..all you need to know is that I shouted at my kindle a good few times, I was mad and thought about hurting someone..and I was shocked pretty much most of the time. So many twists and turns and holy cow..the biggest of all is right at the end..I need book 3 ASAP!!!!!
If you haven't read Besieged one click it now..you don't want to miss this epic story!!!!

Brilliant

I absolutely love this series. I was totally hooked from page one. I love Theo and Lilly. He tries so hard to get her to forgive the huge mistake he made in the first book. She doesn't want to forgive and tries to stay away. He fights for her and is relentless. When crazy stuff comes up from her past Theo stands by her. He finally breaks down her walls. Their love is pure need, pure passion, and perfect for them. Holy cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait for the next one. I have a major girl crush on Ms. Lovell! Love the story, love the writing and will read anything else she writes!

Conquered
Arc provided by author in exchange for an honest review

…And the drama continues…

The ending of Besieged left our two lovebirds broken hearted and miserable. Poor Lilly had the weight of the world on her shoulders. The man she loves shattered her heart, creating more upheaval in her already hectic life. Theo is ripped to shreds, suffering from the consequences of his incredibly stupid blunder, determined to right his wrongs. Both are in shambles and hopeless. With that in mind, I knew to buckle up for an emotional roller-coaster ride. Conquered, the second installment in the She who Dares series, did not disappoint.

Throughout most of Conquered, there was a huge ‘push’ and ‘pull’ situation. A desperate Theo is fighting an uphill battle by seeking forgiveness and pushing his way back into Lilly’s life. The more he pushes, the further she pulls away and retreats. Theo’s sadness tugged on my heartstrings, and I found myself routing for his cause. Lost and forlorn, I truly felt bad for him…until he majorly ticked me off – TWICE. (GASP)!!

Theo’s just as dashing and extremely sexy in this read, and I adored him. His transformation, triggered by falling in love, touched me, as did his heartache. But, drunken public restroom mistakes and Theo seem to go hand in hand. He disappointed me. And a bit of the old insensitive, callous side of Theo crept back in when dealing with psycho chick, Cassie (YIKES)! Yes, the predicament with Cassie turned his life upside down, but Theo could have handled the situation with more understanding. Although I love Theo’s character, these two situations slightly skewed my admiration for him. I am hoping in book three, Theo resolves these issues and redeems himself to become the honorable, strong man Lilly needs. That aside, my heart does go out to him for all of his woes.

There are dubious people affecting Lilly’s life, and I truly feel sorry for her. Despite all that’s going on, Lilly remains as stubborn as ever. I got to give her credit; she’s a tough chick who stands her ground. I admire her grit, however, I wanted to scream ‘enough already and give in’. Theo’s arms were wide open, waiting to catch her. Lilly’s constant refusal was teeny bit vexing. She has gumption and puts up a good fight, but I wanted to see her heal and embrace the one who holds the key to her strength ~ Theo.

Along the way, Theo and Lilly manage to pull off some steamy and passionate times in the midst of their turmoil. It was during their affectionate moments I was reminded how erotic they can be. Theo is at his best when showering Lilly with tenderness and love.

All in all, this was a great read for me. I liked that the story was presented in dual points of view – a peek into the minds of these off the wall characters. LP Lovell is an incredibly gifted author whose unique writing style evoked a vast array of emotions within me. The story line, filled with moments of angst, nail-biting tension, hot sex and romance, grabbed and held my attention from beginning to end. Lastly, be warned there is a cliffhanger. LP leaves us dangling, anxious to see what the future has in store for our tumultuous couple.

The mess from the end of book one continues at the star of this book and the angst and attitude is something that is to be commended.
Nothing hooks a reader that the “What If’s” and in this book there are more than enough what if’s hanging around to keep you tied to the pages from start to finish.
Theo and Lilly are a mess but can they survive, well they survive, can they see that they belong together... Well, Theo can and with his determination in full flow – Lilly is going to have her work cut out to get her own way.
Because when he takes stock and understands (with a nudge from Hugo and his many pearls of wisdom) that he needs to stand stall and be the man that Lilly would want him to be not let go easily, he resolves himself to the fact that he really loves her and is not willing to live without her, Theo wages war … objective Lilly.
I took more to Theo in this book than the first because I felt we had a better look at what made the man, a gentle peek under the skin of this alpha and a chance to see the softer side.
The book, is fast and furious, much like the sex – because I have to say it did not hold back – OMG!! But the twists that develop through the book will have you begging for more.
I was left breathless with the intensity and speed with which the story unfolded, but was super delighted at the emergence of the fantastic Hugo as my favourite character!
He is just downright superb!!!
Lilly’s back story is slowly being opened up to us and in this we get to understand her a little more.
And much as with the first book we are left with an absolute doozy of a cliff hanger at the end.
I can’t wait to have the next installment and to finally see if Theo and Lilly can find the middle ground that can allow them to not only allow them to be happy but to be happy together.

Who forgot to tell me that book two was finally released? Such a bitch move :(

Just kidding, because as soon as I got my hands on this, I made up for lost time. (As in I read it in about 4 hours).

It killed me having to wait for Conquered to come out, but it was honestly fantastic. Both Lilly and Theo are wrecked. They are left drowning in their emotions, but they both don't realize that the answer is right in front of them.

Theo earned my trust back in this one. Saying that I hated him for what happened in the first book is an understatement. I actually didn't think I was going to enjoy Conquered because I didn't want him to crawl back after what he did, say sorry, and everybody would live happily ever after. To my liking, that was SO not the case.

Lilly wasn't willing to forgive. AT ALL. When it comes to this girl, you better expect a war. I was laughing out loud at some of the come backs Lilly had and don't get me started on George. LP Lovell is one of my favorite authors. Why? Because she basically gives me everything I want out of a book. Almost everything I hoped would happened did happen!

However, that ending?! Seriously? **frowny face** I just got over waiting for this one to come out and now I have to wait for the third one?!?!? And with an ending line like that one?! Please, just kill me now....
LP Lovell, I'm now adding you to my sadistic author list!

This book should get a two but i'm reading the whole thing and am getting some enjoyment. Why only 2? Well I don't believe that she has a reason to leave him and therefore I dont want to read her mopey poor little me thoughts. He didn't cheat on her. She left him. Broke his heart. He got super drunk and had sex with someone. HE DID NOT CHEAT. He was a slut before they met (so was she), of course he fell back on his old ways. I repeat. THEY WERE NOT TOGETHER.

So i have a problem with this book because of this. But I like Theo and I'm liking the story.

This book was pure gold.

It was extremely emotional and I confess to sheding a tear or two. Beyond that though, was how realistic it was. The emotions were raw and honest. I could see the characters transitioning into the real world.

Both Lilly and Theo are amazing characters. I loved them both. A lot. The situations they had to deal with sucked though (for the most part).

📌Sex Trafficking & RAPE 📌

EPIC LOVE WITH ALL THE HURDLES ... pain of the lead female character ( LILLY) brings tears to your eyes .
She’s witty , sexy , funny , strong & intelligent.. emotional, trying to get her head & heart on the same path , meanwhile the man ( Theo ) she falls for .. very juvenile bad boy at first .. but he wins you over quickly..... he’s a jerk & makes many mistakes. But he tries his best to correct them .

Except the one mistake he can’t fix & it ties him in knots ..
It’s a quick reminder that random sex without protection has consequences you can deal with for the foreseeable future.. in this story a tragic end happens so be prepared.

...........I don't even know where the hell to begin.....That ending! OMG! Conquered literally had me on the edge of my seat through the entire book. I am addicted to this series. I adore Lilly and Theo, there were times I literally wanted to bang their heads together. Conquered is one hell of an emotional roller coaster. It was phenomenal! George and Molly are amazing, then Hugo and Harry. These characters are so well written and George literally had me in stitches with some of the things he says. I am so happy that I have discovered this series and LP Lovell because she really does know how to get you hooked and Conquered does exactly that. This book is fantastic I am so picking up the next one in the series

Love is not something that wanes easily. To love is to feel pain, to feel vulnerable, but also to feel alive. Love is the difference between living and existing. The loss of love is a test in survival. I’m surviving... Just.

This picks up where the first book leaves off. Lilly leaves Theo. Theo spends most of this book trying to break down the walls Lilly erected back up again. Except as the story goes on you find that Lilly resists him for more reasons than just feeling betrayed and hurt.

Something I love about this book is they don’t just get back together after a couple pages. That’s not the case at all. This book is their separation. It’s painful and frustrating. But I loved it. Because the harder the separation, the more satisfying it is when they finally reunite.

Love is war between these too. Lilly Parker and Theodore Ellis stories confuse. There love is a roller coaster. Lilly has secrets and feels that Theo will not see her as the same person. Theo made a mistake and now he's having a baby from a one dunking night stand that he can't even remember. Lily feels betrayed. Left the ending hanging, Can't wait for book 3. Loved I

A whirlwind of emotions

Book two in the She Who Dares is so full of mind blowing turbulence. Just when you think Theo and Lilly will finally catch up to one another something ends up having Lilly run again. Another brilliantly written book by LP. I will now read the the 3rd book in this fabulous trilogy!
