A great storyline and not too long or overcomplicated. Very enjoyable.

I can't make up my mind over whether this was a 2 or 3 star read so I'm going to be generous. It's the kind of silly, b-movie horror novel I used to read all the time as a kid (think Guy N Smith) and it's efficiently written. The premise is pretty ridiculous though, and the author never really manages to make it convincing. Pair that with unlikeable characters and you have a not very engaging read that kept me turning the pages but never thrilled me. If the gore had been turned up to Shaun Hutson levels it might have been fun, but it's all pretty tame.
Edit: changed my mind, 2 stars it is

First off, a reviewer of this book, Oliver Clarke was spot on with the comparison to this book being along the same lines as one by Guy N. Smith. I like his books, so I liked this as well. It was a late night chiller that is enjoyable and silly at the same time. It's done better than a lot of these types of books.

Bats and a maniac with a hammer has a town on edge as bodies start to pile up. It's up to a Detective Inspector and a scientist to figure it all out. Nice story that goes off the rails, in a good fashion.
