Parenting without Tears

Rate this book
With her book 'Through the eyes of a child' to be published in September 2013, detailing the abuse Chris Tuck and her siblings suffered at the hands of their parents and step-parents, Chris is trying to bring awareness to child abuse and the fact that it is happening behind close doors. A staggering one in four adults have been abused or maltreated as a child. However, the NSPCC's June 2012 statistics stated that approximately 50,500 children in the UK are known to be at risk of abuse right now.

To celebrate her soon-to-be published book, Chris has written 'Parenting without Tears', a short guide to bringing up children to be safe, secure and confident. According to Chris Theisen, the creator of The Parent Coach Plan, there are eigh essential responsibilities that parents must adhere to in order to foster their child's physical and/or emotional well-being, and failure of the parent to meet these specific needs can have wide-ranging and long-lasting negative effects.

Chris Tuck looks at each key responsibility and discusses each one in turn, expanding it with her own experiences.

Chris Tuck is co-founder of "Breaking The Cycle - Survivors of Abuse", a support group of victims of Child Abuse. She also runs courses to help people to regain their confidence, their fitness and control over their lives.
