I don't think I'm the right audience for this. It was a bit too pretentious and I lost count of how many times the word 'custom' was used. I can appreciate beauty in custom things, but I also think it came across like that is the only way to achieve beauty in your space.

I also felt like a lot of the rooms were excessively 'match-y', with wallpaper, upholstery, and even sconce coverings all using the same pattern in multiple places.

There was mention of the upgrades done to rooms but no photos of the 'before', which I think would have been helpful to truly understand how the space was transformed.

I liked April the best!

This book features some lovely interiors by Mark D Sykes. Another reviewer on Amazon called the designs basic, but I would have to disagree. I feel like a more apt one word summation would be tranquil. I especially like the designer’s use of wallpaper and the colors blue and green.

A spectacular book on beautiful American home decor. The pairing of the decor and the homes with a month of the year made the entire book immensely enjoyable, along with the seasonal quotes and just the right amount of commentary.

Formal yet cozy designs. My favorite part of the book and the most useful (in my opinion) are the two pages of hand written design ideas after each of the homes highlighted.

Once again Mark D. Sikes enchants us with his complete embrace of beauty. Here the projects take you to varied climates and styles and yet all of the projects are united in glorious design.

Loved the pictures but style was a little more stuffy than my own - wallpapers the same pattern as couches, lots of ottomans

Loved the textures of the linens though!
