"If I were to describe my so-called "street style," I would say, GET RID OF MY ENTIRE BODY, including my eyes, my nose, my mouth, all of my legs, and the rest of me. Basically, I simply do not want my skin to be seen. Sadly, I need a nose and a mouth to live and breathe, but that doesn't mean I need to show them off."

Diane Keaton speaks my language!

Loved her fashion sense! I can relate to her younger years where her mom cut her short bangs! I rocked those same bangs!😂 Diane was truly a style icon! RIP Diane!

Who doesn’t like Diane Keaton? This book is full of photos of Diane and her style from the time she was a little girl to the present. It’s a document of Diane’s use of clothing to express herself, much like an illustrated memoir. In addition to Diane’s own comments about her clothes, jewelry, make-up and her different looks through the years, several celebrities who adore Diane offer comments about being influenced by her.

I agree with Sarah Jessica Parker: “You can define Diane as inspiration. You can define her as a surprise. A classic. And, indeed, you can define her as a true icon. She brings celebration and commitment to her relationship with every dress, trouser, suit, skirt, hat, belt, and pair of gloves. Having a record on paper to study and recall is a gift to the many millions who adore her work onscreen and have for decades admired her singular style. In our lifetime, she is arguably one of the most influential people in American fashion and has been to me and countless others.”

This is a quick read, but one you’ll want to flip through more than once. It’s a delightful coffee table book full of Diane’s charm and personality as well as her style and love of fashion.

This book is a delight. I bought it in a bookstore, plopped down on the floor, and devoured it. Diane Keaton takes us into her world, chronicling her fashion choices, from her childhood through the decades and up to current day.

It's a hefty, photo-driven coffee table book that showcases her distinctive style--the Annie Hall neckties, the bowler hats, the belted coats. In the copy, she reflects on her looks, giving us a peek into her thought process. She's such a student of fashion, appreciating well-made classic pieces, while putting her own quirky spin on things. Some of her friends weigh in, among them Candice Bergen: "The hats, the belts, the highest of collars, the weirdest boots. She's like a wacky secret service agent." Haha.

In self-deprecating Keaton style, she isn't above including her faux pas. There's a photo of her in her younger years, sporting cut-off jeans, tights, knee-highs, and sandals, and she simply captions it, "This is horrible."

Keaton's style has certainly evolved over the years, but there are through-lines. She is herself, always. There are few other people who have curated a style that's so uniquely their own. I loved every page.

Wonderful collection of Diane Keaton’s photographs of her style throughout the years.
Her wacky, self deprecating humour is sprinkled within the pages as she often makes fun of some of her fashion choices.

HATS
“I started wearing hats as soon as I realized I hated my hair. A hat allows me to hide the worst part of the head. You know, the strange area from your eyebrows to your hairline? Some like to call it a forehead. I like to call it “my least favorite part of the body” a hat is the final touch to a great outfit “

Since Diane Keaton has left us this year, I was happy to see this fashion biography of her life at my public library. Beginning with her earliest years, when her creative mother was her fashion advisor and creator, I loved seeing her evolution as a model, actress and fashion icon. Keaton's commentaries through the decades are enhanced by classic photos which captured her legendary style.

You can finish this book in an hour as it's nearly all photographs of Diane from birth to the present. If you love Keaton, this is really worth seeing. Great photos and great fashion! Introduction by Ralph Lauren.

This is a fun book, but it’s really more about viewing the photos of the author’s fashions by decade than reading it. It’s a coffee table book by Rizzoli and it’s interesting to flip through and view her style throughout the decades

Quick read. Mostly pictures which makes sense considering the book is about fashion. Wish there was more.

Diane Keaton is a fashion icon. She rocks hats, boots
belts, and her most iconic outfit, the suit. I enjoyed seeing how her fashion style has evolved throughout the years. As a fashionsista who likes to put outfits together regardless of what's on style, I connect even more with Diane. I love vintage outfits and connected so much with her outfits during those eras. Kudos to Diane for pushing boundaries and wearing what makes her comfortable and happy. Just like Diane's mom, who used to take her photos, my mom takes my fashionista photos. A hat can dress any outfit, plus an easy fix for a bad hair day. I got to meet Diane in 2017, I loved her boots, and we connected talking about fashion. I highly recommend you look through the most iconic outfits that Diane Keaton will be remembered by.
