Jennifer's from Maine. You'll see her mention this in nearly EVERY chapter in one way or another throughout the series. We get it, she's from Maine.

First and foremost, let me say that I feel cheated. I hate when an author publishes a book and only 68% of it is the book and the rest is information regarding other books. This is the case with "Annihilate Me volume 4." Alex and Jennifer have been living on his personal island with his Executive Secretary, her husband and son. They are in hiding until which time they plan to return to Manhattan and uncover who has been making threats upon their lives.

After a month, they decide to return and hold a press conference. Once again Jennifer receives a text message and a photo threatening her. Jennifer has missed her BFF, Lisa, terribly and wants to know the status of her relationship with Tank. While she is fearful of getting hurt, Lisa decides to make a decision regarding her relationship with Tank.

While out on a shopping trip, Jennifer is held at knife point and told to have Alex back out of all hostile takeovers. Of course, they refuse and decide to move forward. When they go to an event held by one of Alex's clients, the culprit is finally unmasked.

Although this book has some intrigue, the plot has become formulaic. Additionally, I was less than pleased to have the author use Jennifer to re-read a letter Alex sent her as well as the letter she sent him. It was just filler, a means to extend a book and series that really should have been wrapped up in a trilogy. I am growing weary with this now and I am doubtful that I will go on to read the spinoff series featuring Lisa. It sounds like a repeat of this series. Since I have read books 1-4, I will go on to read book 5, the final book in the series.

I received this ARC from the Author for an honest opinion , to which I have to thank her for , it's been a pleasure and a privilege to read this book . I enjoy it from beginning to end . In Annihilate Me vol. 4 Alex Wenn and Jennifer leave their hideaway Island and come back to the city to face and find who is been targeting them . With the help of our dear Mrs. Blackwell , Tank and a team of security they try to draw out the rat that is out to kill them . But will their relationship survive the attempt on Jennifer's life or will Alex let her go in order to keep her safe ? With so many enemies I was biting my nails , the suspense was killing me , we get so much action , cat fights and I laughed out loud just to see when Jennifer put a bunch of nasty socialites in their place . Oh , we get to see a softer side of Mrs. Blackwell and our hot as sin Alex opens up to Jennifer in ways he hadn't before and set up the beginning of Tank and Lisa . With an ending that is going to give your heart palpitations Christina Ross delivers a book that is full of action , romance , witty humor , did I mention hot sex ? And yes , they do catch the bad guy ... Do you want to know who it is ? Well , you have to read it ! I can't wait for the next book . We'll done Christina Ross .

This was a great book. I had a chance to read it since I was an ARC winner. It made my week that I had a chance to read the novel earlier than most. It was a pretty good book. You had the suspense and mystery. It was an unexpected twist to know who the perpetrator was. I loved how strong the connection was between Alex and Jeni. It is just as stronger and intense as I thought it would be. I also liked how Blackwell is in this book. She really comes out and I am grateful for that. I loved the ending to the book. It tied all loose knots. But what really surprised me was the mentioning of a new series that revolves around Lisa and Tank. I am so excited woohoo!!!

Oh this book... The whole series deserves MORE then 5 stars! If you haven't read The Annihilate Series, IT IS A MUST!!
The chemistry between Jennifer and Alex just continues to grow hotter, and with a psycho after then both, they head off to hiding at Alex's private island. In this book they come out of hiding to " bring out the 'Rat'". Lots of close calls and false hopes in figuring out who wants them dead and why. Alex is prepared to let Jennifer go, if that's what it will take to save her life. But is it enough? The psycho is getting closer and the focus is on Jennifer, a party, a rooftop garden, and a killer after Jennifer, will Tank and Alex get to her in time?

I'll be honest. DNF. I actually fast-forwarded to find out who did it and then stopped. I was so bored of the series by this time but I did want the deets on the killer. Wow, that was completely anti-climactic and it would have been nice to have that person actually in the previous books. But that would require effort on Ross' part. And that is clearly out of her capabilities. So over this author.

What happened here? I was showered, no, I was drowned in meaningless dialogues.
Everything the second book promised started watering down and was a lukewarm martini in my hands.... :(

BEST ENDING EVER – Big ask I know, but this is the absolute perfect ending to a series I fell in love with. This will no doubt be a re-read for me in the future. Heart stopping, and brutal yet sweet and romantic.

While attempting to discover who is responsible for the death threats towards Alex and Jennifer, his faked death has them moving to a deserted island to assume the duties of his company. Keeping hidden will hopefully bring out the would be murderer. After a couple of weeks, they make the decision to return to Manhattan and their lives. The time away has rekindled their feelings and I expected there to be a billionaire baby, but no.... It left a heated presence to this sweet couple.

Now “home” Alex and Jennifer will face the killer, but not without more threats, and more violence. The killer is hell bent on destroying Alex, and using Jennifer to do it created a heart stopping ride. I was guessing right up to the very end and couldn’t believe who wax responsible. I never saw it coming. Leaving an explosive whodunit. It was worth returning late from lunch to finish it.

I was happy to read more about Lisa and Tank ( they also became a favourite of mine) along with the evil, I never thought I could tolerate Barbara Blackwell. These three really did create and great cast for this series. All up this was a great series I really enjoyed.

What a disappointment! Seriously what is wrong with these people. I really enjoyed the start of this series, but it just kept getting worse! I really had to force myself to keep reading this book. I won't read the next ones, which is something for me, I never don't finish a series! I'm OCD about it but I just can't stomach any more of these characters. First, Jennifer has become so overly confident - she has been dating this guy for 2 months and suddenly she is helping him run his billionaire dollar company, and acting better then everyone. Doesn't sound like a lovable person to me. Then there is Alex's sudden flop on Diana, his wife his supposedly adored - he then goes and compares Jennifer and Diana to Jennifer. It was horrible! And what was with that whole foray into spanking for Alex and Jennifer? A woman who has been violently abused her whole childhood wouldn't just causally be into getting spanked by her lover of 2 months, whom she lost her virginity to! Trying to jump on the latest fad there? Then there was the attempt at a plot! The whole mystery of who is after them, going through so many characters - which really just took us on a tour of why Alex is really hate-able. Then it is just someone completely out of left field after everything they went through! In addition to all this, everyone just suddenly wears their feelings on their sleeves and shares every thought it their head - they never shut up! They go on these long dialogues giving us every tiny feeling in detail - even Ms Blackwell, who wasn't a character who even had feelings to begin with. It felt like lazy writing, the author wanted us to know things, but didn't want to help us get to that conclusion through the story line, she just wanted everyone to share to death! I am rarely so hard on a author, I get that they work really hard to write stories. But it was just so disappointing because I really thought the book had potential at the beginning.

Okay, so we're finally at the end? Or not.

After all of the threats against their lives, a fake death, and living on a private island hideaway for a month, J and A return to NY to find the person who has been threatening them.

Again, there are more society parties where there are verbal smackdowns, J is physically attacked (again), J questions their relationship because of some things that A says (proving that despite the billions, men can still be stupid) and then it all comes to a head and the person behind the attacks is revealed.

Things kind of heat up between Tank and Lisa. Blackwell remains Blackwell, although I noticed more and more that J's dialogue was remarkably similar to B's over time... I'm not sure if that was done purposefully or not, but since it wasn't addressed, I have to presume that it was some sort of writing issue.

I'm not sure what to say here. The first two books in the series were 4 stars for me, and then as the action got hotter, the hot sex scenes were removed.... why couldn't there be both? There's reference to spanking in the bedroom... why wasn't that addressed?? It would have been hot to read about that but it didn't happen.

I loved this story. But, as much as I did, I was dumbstruck that the story suddenly ended at about 68%. That really sucked. I mean wtf.

On another note, again I loved the story. Here is why,

1) Every time Alex and Jennifer drank, they always clinked their glasses. That was just amazing to me. Rather in public or alone it happened. And it made me swoon!

2) Alex was just perfect. He was not a normal CEO... he knew how to cook and place a dinner setting by himself. He was a very sweet man. Even though he was married before, he was able to get thru his demons and truly be happy with Jennifer and it was so surreal.

3) Jennifer was amazing. She was so very smart in all aspects. Her business personality was on point. She went through so much as a child but was finally able to move forward it was crazy. I loved her a lot!

This series in general was amazing. When I had to put the book down I was still so stuck in the story I had to remind myself that I'm in reality.

I loved the story bit because the ending was where it was and nothing else said, I had so many questions that I didn't think the story should have been left like that at all!

This one didn't make much sense to me.

They staged and ended up going on an island to escape the death threats to them by claiming he had been killed. Then they reveal he's not been killed in a video and will remote work [ok then, this definitely could have just been done normally..]. Then they came home. Then they kept going out to bait the person to come out in public and so on until several stupid moments and - obviously - near death moments and it was suddenly resolved.

But it's not the end as there's yet. one. more. book.

Another great book by Christina. I love the connection between Alex and Jennifer. I am happy that they found the bad guy and can move on with their lives together. I find myself loving Blackwell to! she's fantastic and adds some lightness to the story.

This was a great way to almost end the series. I am looking forward to the Holiday book and the Unleash series next.

This review is the same for each of the 4 volumes of this series. Each volume should be read in order and before moving on to the next volume. No volume is a standalone and you have to read all of them for the complete story.

The characters are serious, responsible, intelligent adults. I liked the interaction between Alex Wenn, a billionaire who runs his own conglomerate, and Jennifer Kent, a recent very sharp MBA graduate who moves from Maine to NYC and needs a job. Jennifer lives and breathes business.

Alex is a young widower who hasn’t had interest in any woman since the death of his wife 4 years earlier. Jennifer was raised by a verbally and emotionally abusive father and a weak mother. She has huge trust issues. In spite of those difficulties Alex and Jennifer have immediate chemistry when they meet. Their romantic relationship moves forward slowly at first but their business relationship is instantaneous. They work well together and their skill sets compliment one another making them a great team.

Someone out there doesn’t like our lovers and wants them dead. Is the villain one of the many people hurt by one of Wenn’s business deals? Is it one of the many women who want Alex for themselves?

There were a couple of very well developed secondary characters, Barbara Blackwell and Lisa Ward, who I liked a lot. Ms. Blackwell works for Wenn. Lisa is Jennifer’s childhood friend and moved to NYC with her. Lisa is a novelist who writes books about zombies.

This was a pretty good read during volumes 1 & 2. The writing was straight forward and economical most of the time. But at volume 3 I thought the pace slowed way down and Jennifer became fixated on the abuse she suffered at her father’s hand. She did a bit too much soul searching and the story started to drag. Then the author really buried what had been a good story with minutiae. There was a pretty good story going on so I’m not sure why the author needed to pause the action and add so much filler. The result of all of this filler was that I got bored and wanted to abandon the book.

Volume 4 begins and the story picks back up but it doesn’t take long before there’s far too much detail about their surroundings and other people and feelings that have been expressed repeatedly. As much as I wanted to know who was trying to kill them and why, I gave up and didn’t finish the last volume.

I think the author is a good writer but this story dragged on far too long. I’m gonna look for one of her standalone books and see if that works better for me.

Cliff's notes from my other reviews..... I read this as a box set so I don't know where one book begins and one ends. I'm a compulsive book finisher or otherwise, I probably would have never finished this or kept going in the series which I am doing..... These are entertaining enough to keep my interest but I have no glowing reviews or recommendations. Jennifer gets on my nerves. Blackwell has about 5 different personalities rolled up into one psychotic little sack, and Alex has absolutely no character development.

Alex and Jennifer 4

Well now that the threat is gone and the rat is caught, to an extent, life gets to return to normal for these two love birds. I have loved their story. I have enjoyed the story lines, the writing and oh my goodness, the characters. Alex, Jennifer, Barbara, Lisa, and Tank; every one of these characters have been a blast. Plus there are people like Addy and Henry and Peachy. I'm so looking forward to diving right in to Lisa and Tank's story!

The entire series was a bit too long for me. There was a lot of banter, but it was banter that lost me after a while. I also feel like it was cut and paste from book to book. The romance seemed forced.

The arc of the story was a bit unrealistic and went on a bit too long.

In the end, I felt a bit cheated as the book didn’t end for the main couple, but instead launched into the start of a second couple about whom I have no desire to continue.

This shouldn’t just be book 1! Really difficult to put down & then have to keep reading into volume 2+

Fluke that I picked this book to read. Love the idea behind it.

Love how they meet & you know what will happen next. Biggest disappointment is the way the books (or volumes) are broken up so you have to buy each one to keep reading!

I am going to end here because it is too expensive to read an ebook when each piece is an additions $3.99!

Good beginning

This new series sounds like it has a lot of potential for keeping reader interest. The main character He's very feisty And Then hold her To her views in Expressing herself. Got to admire That quality. My own personal feeling is the author cause I want too much in trying to describe something that after a while you just gloss over it but that's just me otherwise so good job

Kept guessing

I love nothing more than a good suspense novel. Ones where I am kept guessing right up to the end. I can say without a shadow if a doubt I didn't expect it to be the person it turned out to be. In my mind it was someone else entirely. I did briefly entertain the correct individual, but a few red herrings kept me in the dark. Well done Christina Ross. That ending was worth waiting on.
I know this series has more coming and I look forward to reading all about Lisa and Tank.

Wow what a disappointing ending.

I have now read all four books and this last one was a disappoint to me with that ending. This author lost me with that ending. I was enjoying the series but this left it for you to keep getting more and more of her books.

This was a great story. I was wrong in who I suspected, close by wrong. I was frustrated with the kindof cliffy ending 😑
Over all great three book read now on to Lisa and Tanks books then back to Jennifer and Alex.

Enjoyed the book very much, fascinating story think maybe sex though enjoyable was a bit more explicit than necessary at times, but intrigued how the story evolved with all the characters who were mentioned

The story concludes for Alex and Jennifer.

So the ending was a little disappointing, still not sure about that but Ms Blackwell was the saving grace for me in these books along with Tank
