Through practices, meditations, and fun improvisations, the author takes you on a journey that activates the search and discovery of your soul’s purpose. She shows you a way to breathe authenticity into every part of your daily existence by offering a map toward self-actualization. This is done through 22 stages of the traditional Fool’s journey, and using a wide variety of wisdom-sources and practical exercises, including Sufism, Buddhism, Taoist philosophies, anthroposophy, mystical Christianity, Jungian psychology, mythology, and her own life experience.
I’m the author of Bright Face of Danger (originally published by St. Martin’s Press 1993; revised and re-released in September 2010). Bright Face of Danger has been published in four separate French editions: as Fatale Vengeance (Harlequin) and, most recently, as L’Innocence du Mal (Mira Books and Harlequin Bestsellers 2009). Other published novels are: Pursued, A Perfect Gem, and Heaven Falls won first place Reader Views award in 2011. The Wine-Dark Sea, Painted Secrets, Red Sky At Night, A Distant Light, and Roman Candles were published under an earlier pseudonym I used: Ellie Winslow by Signet/NAL. The Wine-Dark Sea was bought by ITC in Hollywood, and made into a screenplay. The author of numerous articles, I was a contributing author to Area, the Oriental Rug Magazine for many years, and a reader for the Independent Film Project in New York City. I also write poetry, and I cofounded the celebrated Saturn Series Weekly Poetry Readings in New York City, now in its fourteenth year. My greatest pleasure is entertaining readers with tales of romance and thought-provoking posts about writing in general, and poetry, teaching, and inspiration in particular. Visit my on-line WriteSpa – Oasis for Writers, which welcomes visitors from all over the world. A compilation of WriteSpas is now available too, called Writing through the Year. Besides writing novels and my WriteSpa, I teach high school English (not sure if that’s a hobby or a job, or both!). I also write poetry, I love belly-dancing, singing and playing guitar, Tarot, sacred places, reading, and people.
Because I love Tarot, and I seek kind, calm redirection and I need to reimagine my life, I find this a book I will turn to again and again. Reading this book is just like sitting down with your favorite aunt over a hot cup of lemon tea. You feel energized for the adventure (and, isn't all of life an adventure?) and reassured. Off to a fresh start (once more)!
