4,75 stars (read till chapter 73, season 2).
A masterpiece. Not only is the art phenomenal, but also the characters and the story are all I think about 😭😭
At the beginning these characters don't leave a good first impression, but nothing is what it seems. Once the story unfolds, Inés and Cárcel have massive character development, and you understand their reasoning and motives. Their relationship becomes tender, angsty, smutty (!!) and just perfect.
Cárcel is the perfect husband: caring, protective and absolutely obsessed with his wife(seriously, his only thoughts are ‘InésInésInés’). Around Inés, he's such a himbo, you forget he's actually a dangerous soldier.
On the other hand, Inés is cold, even mean (the black cat in the relationship, lol); however, she has a heart of gold. My baby girl suffered so much :(
I'm so excited to wait for more chapters and see what awaits.

have the same thoughts as before. so, this review will be about the entirety of season 1 + season 2's chapter 47-56:
season 2 has started and i just want inés and cárcel to be happy. IS IT THAT HARD?! ugh. i hope she will finally recognize and realise his affections towards her is real. his love is real. it always feel like they're taking one step forward and three steps back.
inés being flustered whenever cárcel tries to come to close and flirt with her is adorable. she doesn't know how to handle him, and i think she's slowly not liking the fact that women are eyeing her husband. hehe
the art is still impeccable. no complains about that.
read until: chapter 56 (start of season 2)

Troubles unfold as Ines realize Carcel feelings, while some people discover new secrets that could threaten their marriage which Ines welcome... But as loyalties shift, she starts to think that maybe she wants to continue living this life with the affection of her husband and maybe she wants to return it.
The old memories come back showing heartbreaking meetings with Carcel and her brother while we see glimpses of how horrific her life at the palace was.

I don’t why a illness 10 years past should be such a big deal, they are married now anyway. But well. Finally she came to her senses regarding her actions. Poor Carcel did everything he could! 🥹 And I also don’t get the beef with the butler either. A few logical gaps in the story and in the panels (lighting) sometimes disrupt my reading flow. As a European reader sometimes it feels a little off. 🫠

i’m liking where things are heading, i just wish we didn’t take sooo long on our way there!! glad to see such progress in inès’ character!! i wanna see more of carcel being a smart commander than just him being a lovesick puppy! i still want the lovesick puppy, just want more character development from him as well.
