This book was published in 1970 and it is interesting that much of the material in the text is little different than what you read in the current photography 'how-to' books. This is foundational in that sense and it offers a great history of photography as well as the workings of the camera. At one time I think I had all 10 in the series but this was the only one that did not get damaged. A book I will keep on my shelves for sure.
It's an old book, but there's quite a lot of fundamental information that is still relevant today. Here's some notes I gathered:
Level pertama dalam fotografi adalah "The recording of homely scenes of everyday life"–merekam keseharian.
Fritz Goro insists, "You must constantly experiment, always trying something different–not for the sake of being different, but in order to improve on what you've done."
"The picture is good or not from the moment it was caught in the camera" - Henri Cartier-Bresson
"In photography, you're always avoiding yourself, your shadow. I thought I'd use it. So i took these pictures where I'm there too, as part of the landscape." - Lee Friedlander
Simple rule for Depth of Field: The shorter the focal length of the lens, the greater the depth of field.

Published in 1971, this series is a comprehensive overview of many aspects of photography. Only the titles specific to equipment; The Camera; Light and Film; and The Print are a bit outdated, but not completely for the same principles still apply such as shutter speed, depth of field, etc. By far, a great series for any would be serious photographer even today.
So this book came out the year I was born. We found it at an estate sale a while back. Started looking through it recently when I began teaching one of my daughters about photography. It has simple diagrams along with sample photos to illustrate basic concepts (aperture/shutter speed/focal lengths, etc.). Really useful.
