Messing with Mother Nature can have dire consequences...

According to the ultrasounds, everything is fine with Jacinda and Luke's expected baby, but as Jacinda's dreams turn increasingly bizarre, she fears something is very wrong with their growing child.

When the big day finally arrives, Jacinda's worst fears lie cradled in her arms. But there’s only one way to save this youngling, and the cost could not only be high, it could be everything...

Note: Creation is book 2 in a new series that takes place several years after the original Lost Children Trilogy. WARNING: semi spoilers ahead. Also, if you haven't already read the THE LOST CHILDREN TRILOGY, I highly recommend it so you're aware of all the players and crazy backstory!!!

Yowza! Talk about a new take on Frankenstein amped up by one hundred!!!! Jacinda and Luke are pregnant. Fine by most standards, except they and their siblings are part of an experiment that spliced animal DNA into their own. They also have powers that some still can't control, and other powers yet to emerge. That's not even the scary part... As Jace's pregnancy has gotten into her third trimester, her fears are through the roof... And with good reason. Thank goodness Father and her sister Di having medical knowledge. Each night she's been having EXTREMELY vivid nightmares that are progressively worsening. Now she's awakening to not only hunting in her nightmare, but biting her prey. Something she's NEVER been a fan of before, and now she's relishing it in her dreams. During the day she's snapping at anyone outside the family that looks at her bump, asks about her pregnancy, or is generally inquisitive. She's wasting away and has scarily dark circles under her eyes. Even though her ultrasound ,thanks to Father and Di keep showing a healthy baby, she just instinctively knows something is amiss. A mother's intuition is rarely wrong!!!!! All kinds of stuff happens in this book filled with excitement, intrigue, crazy scientists, a family bent on survival and newborn life. Read on to find out what happens and who prevails. This is one adrenaline filled read, and I loved every minute!!! I for one can't wait for the next in this original series!!!

This story is a beautiful creation. I love that it is told from Jacinth's point of view. The story focusing on the creation of life as their family grows and the worries that go along with that is great. Once again Krista Street does a great job of reminding us that no matter how much money the family has they will never be completely safe or free of the world they were forced into as children. As a mother I empathize with all of the things Jacinth and Luke are going through in regards to the newest changes in their lives. As any parent will tell you you never know just how strong you are or what you are capable of until your baby is in danger and this story reiterates that lesson. The fear Jacinth has that she will not be able to maintain her sense of humanity was extremely touching. I anxiously await the next installment.
I received an ARC of this story and am voluntarily writing my honest review of it.

It was so interesting to get a story from Jacinda's pov!

Seeing the family from a whole new perspective with different motivations than what we are used to from Lena really has me excited for what else this new series has in store. There are different sides of relationships that we get to explore, as well as, characters we get to learn more about.

Krista Street delivers again with a story that you don't want to put down!

This book was alot of fun! It was written novella style so it was short and action packed. This story was told from Jacinda’s perspective, which was also very cool. Jacinda and Luke are pregnant in the beginning. Without giving away any spoilers…this pregnancy isn’t exactly normal! With that being said it puts so many parts into motion and we are taken on a true adventure! I can’t believe I’m about to begin the last book!

Another short read in this engaging series. I felt that it was more fleshed out than the previous book, so there was more to read and the characters were interesting. I am not normally a fan of 'superpowers' books, but this has been done in an unusual way, as a result of an experiment, and I do find it a good read.
This book was done through the voice of a different person, but still in the same 'family' group, so we see the characters that we are used to, in a slightly different way.
You do not have to have read the other books, but it would help you appreciate the story.
