گاهی اوقات با خودم میگم انیمه دیدن رو بذارم کنار، مانگا خیلی لذت بیشتری داره، الان قطعاً اگه من نمیدونستم داستان از چه قراره سه تا از ولیومهای وینلند برای من پنج ستاره میبود

Super, super bloody. I mean body parts flying everywhere.
But besides some pretty epic battles both large and small, there were some introspective moments and some pretty large character shifts as well.
The ending was pretty spectacular! Glad to see so many favs together and am excited to see what happens next!

El momento de epifanía de Canute es hermoso, pero se hace muy breve en comparación con el brutal enfrentamiento entre Thorfinn y Thorskell y sus secuelas. La épica, la violencia y los giros continúan en todo lo alto.

Un adictivo tebeo histórico de aventuras y acción con toques shonen, originalmente era un manga dirigido a este sector del público, el lector joven (bueno, ya cada vez más envejecido) y masculino, aunque va derivando cada vez más al seinen (manga dirigido a hombres adultos). Ambientada en los primeros años del siglo XI durante el período álgido de la dominación vikinga de los mares del norte, y justo antes del ascenso del rey Canuto el Grande al trono de Inglaterra y Dinamarca, la historia se centra en el joven Thorfinn, un joven islandés que busca vengarse de Askeladd, el jefe mercenario vikingo que asesinó a su padre. El giro de argumento es que Thorfinn permanece a las órdenes de Askeladd como guerrero/esclavo, hasta que el joven sea capaz de derrotarlo (y matarlo) en un duelo ritual. Como curiosidad que no le interesará a nadie, la época en la que está ambientada, el tema vikingo y algún detalle más, me han recordado a una novela histórico-romántica que leí de chaval hace siglos, "Avalon", de Anya Seton, que no sé si habrá resistido el paso del tiempo, pero que a mis tiernos catorce años me dejó bastante flipao.
El relato se centra en el sinsentido de la violencia, la guerra y la lucha por el poder, a pesar de lo cual la historia es un no parar de batallas, persecuciones, intrigas, combates sangrientos y ostias por doquier la mar de entretenido y excelentemente documentado. Mención aparte para unos personajes carismáticos y estupendamente construidos al estilo clásico del tebeo comercial japonés, aquí no hay buenos ni malos, solo infinitos matices de gris, según las circunstancias. En su momento me pareció curioso que el protagonista, Thorfinn, tuviera tan poco peso en la historia que está enamorada de Askeladd, un magnífico personaje, pero me he acabado dando cuenta de que si Thorfinn resulta tan poco interesante es porque está hecho así a propósito, un crío enloquecido por el dolor que solo es capaz de pensar en la venganza y que tendrá que aprender que no es la capacidad de ejercer la violencia lo que convierte a un hombre en guerrero.
El dibujo, ya siendo bueno en los primeros tomos, va derivando de la caricatura al realismo detallista, llegando a lo excepcional a partir del quinto y continúa mejorando todavía más, tremenda la labor de Yukimura y su equipo (es de agradecer que Yukimura se moleste en presentar a sus cuatro ayudantes en una página del primer tomo); extremadamente detallado, sangriento, espectacular y dinámico en batallas, duelos y peleas, y preciosista en escenas intimistas y emotivas, que también las hay. Por supuesto, narrativa impecable, el tebeo goza de un gran ritmo y resulta tremendamente adictivo. Totalmente recomendado si te van este tipo de historias, claro.

Aviso: esta reseña contiene spoilers de los anteriores 5 tomos de Vinland Saga, un manga perfecto para los amantes del mundo vikingo.
Después de semanas de persecución a través de Inglaterra, el ejército de Askeladd se ve finalmente superado por el de Thorkell. Al ver a Askeladd gravemente herido, Thorfinn se involucra en la sangrienta batalla. Para salvar al asesino de su padre, el joven se compromete a duelo contra Thorkell. Por su parte, el príncipe Knut, traumatizado por la muerte de su fiel Ragnar, toma una decisión que cambiará Europa.
Este tomo destaca por sus escenas de acción. El duelo entre Thorkell y Thorfinn es muy emocionante, aunque pierde un poco el ritmo al ser interrumpido de cuando en cuando por escenas de Knut. Sin embargo, éstas nos presentan a un personaje que parece renacer de la desesperación, una evolución impresionante que sin duda nos muestra a alguien totalmente diferente al principito de tomos anteriores.
Sin desvelar demasiado, en este tomo conocemos parte del pasado compartido por Thorkell y Thors, unas declaraciones que dejan a Thorfinn contrariado y confuso, sin saber exactamente qué pensar sobre su padre. El dibujo que a todo esto acompaña te deja sin aliento, con un trazado impresionante que hace honor a la épica aventura que transcurre entre las páginas del tomo.
El final deja abierto grandes posibilidades, el séptimo tomo tiene pinta de que va a ser algo más de transición, pero todo parece desembocar en una épica aventura que tengo muchas ganas de continuar.

Un volume spettacolare.
L'epifania di Canuto, la sua rivoluzione del concetto di amore, il desiderio che nasce in lui di cambiare le cose partendo proprio da quel trono marcio fino al midollo sul quale siede suo padre sono da brividi.
Il modo in cui Canuto cambia fa male, perché è come se gli avessero strappato l'innocenza di dosso di punto in bianco, ma solo in questo modo è riuscito a realizzare tante cose e a maturare velocemente: è passato direttamente al contrattacco senza più nascondersi dietro le spalle di qualcuno — di Ragnar soprattutto.
Canuto è un personaggio meraviglioso, so che più avanti combinerà COSE e infatti ho paura di scoprirle, ma per il momento non posso fare altro se non volergli un gran bene.

Після тривалої погоні Англією Торкелль нарешті наздоганяє Аскеладда, а Торфінн стоїть на порозі одного з визначних і вирішальних двобоїв. Тому коли брався за шостий том, то було цікаво чи зможе Торфінн здолати надзвичайно сильного суперника, і як це вплине на долю Аскеладда та всієї Англії.
Ця арка зосереджується на ключових подіях: підготовці до бою, безпосередньому зіткненні Торфінна з Торкеллем та доленосних рішеннях принца Кнута. Аскеладд отримує серйозне поранення, що робить ситуацію ще більш напруженою. Торфінн, спостерігаючи за тим, як кров’ю стікає вбивця його батька, зіштовхується з моральним вибором: він ще не може дозволити Торкеллю загинути, але мусить дати йому справжній бій (я досі не розумію цієї його мотивації, але хай буде). Тим часом Кнут, важко переживши смерть Раґнара, робить рішення, здатні змінити власне життя і навіть хід історії.
Двобій між Торфінном і Торкеллем став справжньою кульмінацією попередніх подій, відколи ці два парубки зустрілися вперше. Кожен удар, кожен маневр двох сильних воїнів демонструє не лише майстерність бою, а й розкриває персонажів. Бій показує не просто фізичну силу, а й моральну стійкість героїв, що робить його захопливим і водночас емоційно насиченим.
Окремої уваги заслуговує принц Кнут, який пережив глибоку втрату. Його трансформація у цьому томі вражає. Він більше не безпорадний молодий спадкоємець, а мислячий лідер, здатний приймати важкі рішення заради блага. Новий психологічний портрет Кнута показує його глибину, рішучість і навіть хитрість, роблячи персонажа значно привабливішим і цікавішим. Хоча я скептично ставився до його особистості, зміна яка відбулася збільшила мою цікавість до нього у багато разів.

En este tomo encontramos bastante acción: La tan esperada batalla entre Thorfin y Thorkell. Adicional a esto y no por ello menos importante. Veremos la evolución de un personaje. Un individuo que nos dejará ver una faceta completamente diferente, la cual en muchas ocasiones si adquiere a través del dolor.
Nuevas alianzas se han forjado, a simple vista con objetivos diferentes, pero puede que tengan mucho en común.
Dado que he visto el Anime, se pierde al factor sorpresa, pero no importa, cada vez me voy acercando a la parte que no fue animada.

Un lungo volume tutto incentrato sul lungo scontro tra prozio e pronipote (Thorkell contro Thorfinn).
Qualche flashback interessante. Askeladd è ferito, e alla fine il principe Cnut ha un risveglio emotivo e finalmente s'impone e prende il comando.
Nel complesso un buon albo ma non all'altezza dei precedenti.

non mi aspettavo questo colpo di scena, forse è stato proprio uno dei punti di vista della storia ad avermi bloccato nel mettere cinque stelline.

Thorfinn affronte Thorkell afin de sauver Askeladd (bien sûr dans l'unique but de pouvoir le tuer lors d'un duel plus tard). Thorkell est très puissant mais l'agilité de Thorfinn lui permet de blesser (quoique légèrement) son adversaire.
Thorfinn finit par être blessé suite à un coup de pied de Thorkell. Son bras brisé, il ne peut rien faire. Il accepte (difficilement) l'aide d'Askeladd qui panse ses blessures. Pendant ce temps, on apprend que Thorkell faisait partie des Jomsvikings avec Thors et qu'après sa mort feinte, il a vaincu Thorkell afin de s'enfuir avec Helga pour trouver la paix en Islande. Helga est la petite nièce de Thorkell qui est lui-même le frère du chef militaire des Joms (qui est donc le père d'Helga qui l'a donné en mariage à l'un de ses guerriers, Thors). Thorkell aurait voulu savoir ce que c'était d'être un "vrai guerrier" selon la définition de Thors.
De son côté, Knut prend conscience de la mort de Ragnar et pendant que Björn affronte seul les hommes de Thorkell, il comprend que l'amour n'existe pas dans le cœur des hommes et qu'il doit les mener pour donner un sens à leur vie et à leur mort, lui-même n'étant qu'un remplaçant de son frère ainé Harald destiné au trône. C'est à ce moment-là que le jeune homme timide et pleutre prend sa destinée en main.
Le duel entre Thorfinn et Thorkell reprend. Thorfinn a été conseillé par Askeladd afin d'avoir une chance de le vaincre. Cela fonctionne mais les hommes de Thorkell interviennent provoquant la colère de celui-ci. Le duel s'arrête et Thorkell reconnait sa défaite.
Voilà que Knut arrive, transfiguré, et décide d'emmener tout le monde à Gainsborough afin de tuer son père. Askeladd, Thorfinn et Thorkell font dorénavant partie de ses suivants.

I think this volume depicts how slaves are treated.. and the story shifts to someone else’s POV which is refreshing? We see this guy name Einar and how he is being treated which becomes the companion for our main character thorfinn... who is also a slave!

Nothing makes a good friendship other than agriculture work ! !.. I’m so happy !!*tears* and they meet this old man (who is the master’s father) and he gives them a horse (after they worked for him) and they are making a progress in clearing the land and all that,,, reminds me of levin and his farming stuff (from Anna Karenina)

AMONOOOOOOOOOS!
Se puso mas buena esta madreeeee, Thorfinn con su batalla, pero tambien sabemos mas sobre la herecia de este, ver a askeladd dando consejos me hace entender los memes de tumblr XD por otro lado tenemos a bebé Canute, si bien su epifania fue muy rapida me parecio de los mas interesante de ver y como cambio sus acciones. Se formaron alianzas, hay un nuevo objetivo, pero me pregunto si la epifania de Canute lo hará mas fuerte o solo sera pasajera y me hace pensar, que tanto habra visto ya...
Como simpre los dibujos son geniales, las de la pelea y la epifania me gustaron.
Nada que ver con la reseña pero grite al enterarme del familiar que le salio a THorfinn y grite en el trabajo, bendita mi suerte que es una tienda de ropa....

Se puso mas buena esta madreeeee, Thorfinn con su batalla, pero tambien sabemos mas sobre la herecia de este, ver a askeladd dando consejos me hace entender los memes de tumblr XD por otro lado tenemos a bebé Canute, si bien su epifania fue muy rapida me parecio de los mas interesante de ver y como cambio sus acciones. Se formaron alianzas, hay un nuevo objetivo, pero me pregunto si la epifania de Canute lo hará mas fuerte o solo sera pasajera y me hace pensar, que tanto habra visto ya...
Como simpre los dibujos son geniales, las de la pelea y la epifania me gustaron.
Nada que ver con la reseña pero grite al enterarme del familiar que le salio a THorfinn y grite en el trabajo, bendita mi suerte que es una tienda de ropa....

У шостому томі до Вінланду ще не дісталися, але відбулася прокачка кількох персонажів. Принц-заручник нарешті відчуває у собі сили державника (якщо це так можна назвати), Торфінн б’ється з Торкелем за можливість згодом вбити Аскеладда, але під час бою Торкель розповідає йому про його батька у часи бувальщини. Бійка, до речі, затягнута, але цікава. В раптову прокачку принца не дуже віриш, але це сюжетна умовність.
Хороша частина історії, яка потенційно може задати новий вектор (нагадую, що собі я цю історію ще не заспойлив, і споживаю її по мірі виходу нових томів українською).

Canuto a renacido cual fénix de las cenizas, atrás a quedado su infancia bajo el ala protectora de Ragnar. Ahora tendrá que jugar a por todas o morir en el intento.
Auguro que se viene una odisea épica, con Canuto como el líder político y Thorkell, Askeladd y Thorfinn como los guerreros.
El dibujo es excelente y el guión es muy bueno; definitivamente este manga cada vez se pone mejor.

Раджу читати одразу після закінчення 5-го тому, матимете змогу надалі насолоджуватися надзвичайною атмосферою битви та кривавого шалу.
Як і в п'ятому томі автор продовжує проливати кров ріками, а окрасою стає двобій Торфінна та Торкеля, що в свою чергу розкриває подробиці втечі Торса "Троля" від йовсвікінгів і загалом його мотивації.
