“The order took everything from me,” Lucius spoke again. “Now I’ll become the monster they always feared I would be.”
The Death of the Malfoy Daughter was the catalyst for Lucius Malfoy becoming the man that everyone feared he would. With a second war brewing and secrets finally coming to light, one girl holds the key to turning the tides of the war.
2.5* / this wasn’t bad per se and i thought the main plot was really intriguing which is why i thought id give theomione a try but i consume dramione smut for a living so them being siblings is def not my cup of tea + i cringed a lot of the time and felt like this story progressed strangely fast
I was completely hooked on A Star and Her Dragon. It’s intense, emotional, and so well-written that I kept forgetting I was reading fanfiction. There’s something about dark AUs with complex characters and morally gray decisions that always pulls me in, and this one delivered on everything I love—especially a pureblood Malfoy Hermione.
The story reimagines Hermione as Lucius Malfoy’s daughter, a twist that completely reframes her role in the second wizarding war. The political intrigue, the tension between loyalty and survival, and the slow unraveling of who she becomes in this new version of the world—it all works so well. Her character is layered, driven, and vulnerable in a way that feels real. I felt everything with her.
The pairings in this fic are also a major highlight. It’s rare to read a fic where you genuinely care about every couple, but I found myself fully invested in all of them. The Hermione/Theo dynamic especially stuck with me—there’s a quiet depth and protectiveness to him that makes their connection feel earned and believable. I never know how to explain to non-fanfic readers that Theodore Nott is my favorite Harry Potter character, but fics like this make it make sense. He steals the show in the most understated way.
And as someone who’s always here for a “Dumbledore is actually the villain” arc—this fic does it so well. It leans into the idea of the Order as flawed and even dangerous, without ever making the story feel over-the-top or edgy for the sake of it. It just… makes sense, in this version of the world. That moral ambiguity runs deep, and I loved it.
There are moments of graphic violence and emotional trauma, but it’s never gratuitous—it’s part of the world, the war, and the weight these characters carry. The author balances that darkness with moments of softness and hope, giving the fic a heart even when it hurts.
Overall, A Star and Her Dragon is a dark, captivating, and deeply emotional reimagining of the HP universe. If you love slow burns, redefined characters, forbidden romance, a morally gray Order, and war-torn loyalties, this one is absolutely worth the read. It’s the kind of fic that stays with you.
As much as I love Dramione fanfics and they are my go to, I do also love a Drarry, and Draco/Harry in this one was pretty good. I do rather enjoy Hermione being a secret pureblood/adopted witch, and her being the one with the power and the 'Chosen One' in this story was a nice change.
I didn't mind Theo and Hermione's relationship, but I did think Theo's story felt a bit forced. Special shout out to Narcissa and Lucius - they were fantastic in this one.
I loved the story as a whole but could not connect with Theo. I liked him in the beginning but then he turned into like a replacement Draco. I did not understand why he had to become a death eater and I didn’t like his relationship with Hermione. However, I loved the whole premise of the story and wanted more family time- especially between Draco and Hermione.

Ya la había leído pero no la recordaba. Está buena? Si. Adoro a los Malfoys como familia que aman a sus hijos. Con permiso di favela Drarry me sigue sin gustar. Debo admitir que derrame unas lagrimitas
