- second chance romance - single dad - MCs in their 40s
They dated 20 years ago. Broken-hearted, Noemie (No-em-mee) tried to move on but ended up in an unhappy marriage. Now she’s back in the small town as the high schools guidance counselor. Jameson makes it his mission to win back the one that got away. Can she trust him with her heart again?
Went back and forth on this one. Love that they were able to get their second chance. I did feel like Jameson was very pushy considering he’s the one who messed up with her. What he did for her birthday was ADORABLE though. So yeah, mixed feelings.
Them grown people were exhausting AF...well mainly Noemie. She was annoying af. The hot and the cold. One moment she's in the next she's out, running and hiding. Ending was rushed but not a terrible read.. Hate that cover 😒
4.5 ⭐s Silver Santa Twenty years ago Noemie Crawford fell in love with Jameson Mitchell and him with her. Then his ex-girlfriend took delight in informing her that she was pregnant with his baby. That was the end of the relationship.
Jameson married young, divorced young and raised his daughter, Jordyn, with the help of his parents. He now owns and operates J&J Fitness Center in Kissing Springs.
Noemie finished college, married a very God-fearing man, divorced him and now has moved back to Kissing Springs where she's the guidance counselor at the school. She's also adjusting to the recent death of her father. They had argued and she never had the chance to make up with him before he died.
Her married name is Saint and her friends tease her about living up to the name. In fact after a conversation in the teachers' lounge, Noemie decides to visit the adult section of the local party store. It's there where Jameson finds her with dildo in hand. Oops! Then he makes the offer that if she wants the "real thing" to give him a call. Little does he know how sexually inexperienced she really is.
She decides to take him up on his offer but things don't go smoothly. Can they both forget parts of their past, build on other parts and deal with what life dealt them while they were apart?
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I was really into this for probably the first quarter of the story. There were a few times that even had me chuckling. I liked the writing style and second chance is one of my favorite tropes, anyway.
Then it started to slide for me. Both main characters were rather wishy-washy and it became frustrating to read. She kept insisting she only wanted friendship, he'd back off one minute, then the next be thinking about marriage and babies. She sent sooo many mixed signals, and he wasn't any better, really... she'd push him away, then internally whine about him not fighting for her. She wanted him to still want her while she kept him at arm's length, running back to him when she was in the mood to, which I never enjoy reading. I wanted Jameson to stick to his guns more instead of always acquiescing or (sometimes unnecessarily) apologizing. Between them and Jameson's meddling mother, it just got hard to root for them or believe they even belonged together. The last portion of the book just didn't match the beginning, to me...it felt rushed rather than smooth. Some things felt thrown in, like Jordyn's drinking binge. All the back and forth and hot and cold and sudden jerks in their attitudes made their chemistry and their union less believable, to me.
Entertaining but main characters sometimes seemed immature for forty and forty five.
Twenty years ago Jameson fell for Noemie the first time he saw her walk into his college classroom. But unexpected circumstances caused Jameson to marry someone else just weeks later. Long since divorced with his own gym and a daughter away at college, Jameson finds out his college sweetheart has moved home to Kissing Springs. He’s determined to do whatever it takes for a second chance to do things right this time.
Noemie has moved home to Kissing Springs and as the new guidance counselor at Nelson County High School she’s making new friends that have opinions about how she can lighten up and expand her sexual horizons. Especially concerning the ruggedly handsome gym owner they notice often eyeing her.
Noemie and Jameson’s road won’t be easy with so much from their past they never resolved.
Unfortunately, I felt that if they ever did eventually marry it would be unlikely to last. It seemed no matter what they said to each other they both managed to ignore the words and insert their own misguided feelings instead, which caused insecurities and misunderstanding in the relationship.
Joi Jackson delivers a steamy, fun holiday romance in Silver Santa, book 3 of the Welcome to Kissing Springs series. This was my first time reading Ms. Jackson, and I was delighted with both her writing and the story itself.
Ms. Jackson’s characterization was so enjoyable! I loved Noemie—loved that her coworkers’ teasing makes her start thinking a little bit harder on who she is and makes her want to find a little adventure for her life. I love a book that sets up its characters to look hard at their lives and grow through the story.
Jameson is steady and sexy, ready to settle down and be happy with the one woman he’s always loved. He’s a solid character, dependable on his job and supportive of his small town, but he’s also a little vulnerable when he puts himself out there for Noemie.
There were a few scenes in Silver Santa that had me laughing out loud, and Ms. Jackson writes some smoking hot steam, too! ~Tracy Broemmer, author of the contemporary romance Holiday Fling
This was less Christmassy than I had expected from the title, but it was still a good read. I have to admit that I didn't vibe with Noemie and Jameson a few times; their tension felt a bit too forced to be considered real. Their troubles could have been solved with just a proper conversation in which they both spoke their true feelings. I also don't understand Jordyn's reaction to meeting Noemie in the car. Was she indifferent? Curious? Confused? It felt too vague for me.
Despite the questions in my mind, this book had a believable plotline. It had a medium pace and slowly turning events that led to the climax of their relationship. I enjoyed the drama and semi-angsty fights between these two (although I would have liked to see them actually fight it out).
Recommended for lovers of second chances, miscommunication, and single dads.
Nice second chance love story. Jameson is a very caring father who deserves to have now the woman he loves to share the rest of his life with. As does Noemie, who deserves a man who truly loves, respects and cherishes her. These two have loved each other for 20 years, and finally, have a second chance. I didn't like the way Jameson's daughter came at Noemie because of the crap she heard from her mother. However, loving each other for as long as they did and wanting to try again was the right decision. Their wedding day was the best Christmas gift for them. I am glad Noemie didn't need the adult toys, and got to experience the REAL prize with Jameson. Oh, la la.
I enjoyed reading this book (well let me stop lying 🤥 lol,) there were too many times where Mrs. Noemie got on my last nerves with her back and forth with Jameson that I stopped counting (it was the whole entire book, just so you know 😂). All jokes aside though, I loved the whole theme of Jameson and Noemie reuniting after 20 years to rekindle their love for each other. I hated the way that the ending was rushed through. I wanted the author to touch base a little on their relationship and not just jump to a year later and now Noemie is preggers and she is marrying Jameson😱🤦🏾♀️. All in all, I love the concept of this book.
If you love a good second chance romance that’s also a Christmas romance then this book is for you.
Jameson and Noemie, fell in love with each other one summer but went their separate ways due to drama in Jameson’s life. And both moved on to relationships that just didn’t work because it wasn’t the one who stole their hearts.
Twenty years later they are both back in their home town and still in love with each other but she has walls up and don’t trust him. I loved how he accepted her feelings but did everything in his power to show her just how I much he still loved and wanted her.
If you love a good second chance Christmas romance then this book is for you!
Very fun second chance romance story. Noemi and Jameson's personalities jumped off the page in a character driven plot that kept me turning pages to the end. Very sweet, sometimes super hot, and not overly Christamas themed, this is an excellent choice for when you want something with a little realistic drama, nothing too over the top.
A standalone book, the others are written by different authors all in the same small town setting. Definitely worth checking out and I'll be looking for more of Jackson's books. Received for free, reviewed by choice.
Noemie and Jackson had dated 20 years earlier. They were in love but he broke her heart when she found out his ex girlfriend was pregnant with his baby and they got back together. Now she is back in town after her fathers death to support her mother and trying to avoid him. Jackson wants to start again with Noemie, she was the love that got away. They were both single and he wanted a chance with her. Sweet, steamy story with amazing chemistry and a lovely HEA.

This story was very cute. It is a second chance at love romance that was very relatable to me. A lot of times we waste time on people who weren't worth it. And we let go of what we really wanted and loved to do the right thing as seen by everyone else around us. Then we give up until what we we really truly desire comes into our lives a second time around. The thing is will we take it or let go. The main characters did a lot of back and forth in their minds about their feelings towards each other. But eventually they came together and that was the best part to me.
This is a second chance romance set around the Christmas Holidays in Kissing Springs. Noemie and Jameson meet again and are both single after being apart for twenty years where she is divorce and happy he has works hard building his gym and with his daughter in college he is ready to settle down and there is no one else he wants but Noemie.

Naiome was a beautiful black woman who was raised in a strict religious home. She walked away from love with a broken heart. Jameson broke both her heart and his when he married his ex because she was pregnant. This is the beautiful story of a love that never died but was woke back up.
Noemie returns to Kissing Springs after 20years and during a work event sees her first love Jameson. Can she work through her insecurities to give them what they both want, a second chance at happiness? Expect small town gossip, passion and love throughout. Enjoy!.

Another good festive story in the Kissing Springs community
Nice Kissing Springs book 3. The main characters Jameson and Noemie were slightly frustrating and I would’ve liked Jameson’s daughter Jordyn to have been more involved but it was a sweet, second chance festive romance nonetheless.
I love second chance romance stories...they're always full of so much hope and love. This romance was twenty years in the making. It was a great story with great characters.

Great storyline of second chances not only in love but in life. Loved the mature characters with learning new lessons in opening their hearts. A fun read of self discovery for Noemie.

This was a very sweet and romantic storyline of two people who fell in love when they were younger but life took them in different ways until later in life! But they never stopped loving each other! I absolutely loved the book!
This was a middle of the road read for me. I wasn't really invested in either main character, but the story moved along with minimal outside angst for the couple.
