Killian Wolf is a Miami, FL native who enjoys pirates, rum, and skulls as much as she loves writing about dark magick and sorcerers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology and a Master of Science in Environmental Archaeology and Palaeoeconomy.
Killian writes books about obtaining magickal powers, and stepping into other dimensions. She lives in England with her husband, a tornado of a cat, and the most timid snake you'd ever meet.
When she isn't writing, you might find her at an Archaeological dig, rock climbing, or sipping on dark spiced rum while working on a painting.
Before I begin, I want to thank the authors for donating funds in order to help prevent suicide. Depression and the hopelessness that accompanies it are no way to live.
May we all find the support and comfort we need.
REVIEWS: The Man With No Name - Antoine Bandele ‘Feel the rhythm of the sister spirits’
Line of Succession - JB Caine Don’t mess with honor, right, and tradition.
Loom of Silk and Wrath (Athena and Arachne) - Killian Wolf A provocative commentary on what humans “owe” the gods.
Blood Sacrifice - Krys Fenner When the lone person is just ‘itching for a fight’, back off – no matter how many of you there are. One never knows which magic is afoot and things can get messy…
The Serpentine Sisterhood - Erin Casey “Birds of a feather” and all that. The rescued become the rescuers.
Beneath the Streets - Alice Hanov Reminiscent of Poe or O. Henry…creepy!
The Ocean’s Cry - Nikki Brooke Humans beware when the sea fights back against our eco-terrorism.
The Princess Called Death - Catrina Bell ‘Ask the right questions before’ you lie LUV this lil gal’s ’tude!: ‘They won’t give us a seat? We take the higher ground.’ Oooohhhh…
The Celts of Hella - C.J. Piperata Train your females to protect themselves. Will come in handy when you cannot defend yourself…
The Shadowy Ones - Elizabeth Merwin Teach your girls to wield a sword even if they are to wear gowns as women. Since females ARE generally weaker than males, they desperately need self-defense training. Along with that, teach your boys to not be threats to our gals.
The Base of The Totem - Miski Harris Heed the pull of your true calling and set yourself free to be you.
Gleeful Goblin Review: As someone who never really left their "fascinated by the mythology section at the library" phase of childhood I'm always down to read retellings or become familiar with stories I never knew before. This anthology is for a phenomenal cause and is a sensational jumping off point to find new authors to enjoy as well as see stories from already beloved authors and I'm lucky enough to have experienced both. The standout story for me in this anthology was The Princess Called Death by Catrina Bell which follows Loki's daughter Hel. I thought this was an engrossing tale and I loved the details in how Catrina showed us Hel's personality in this scene: "I am Hel, daughter of the Great Trickster, sister of the world-ending monsters, the princess called death, and they will never see me tremble. Odin’s nostrils flare, smoke streaming around his wizened face, eyes locked on me, half-lidded with derision. Jor blocks out the last of the windows with a groaning creak of the Great Tree, and the hall falls into deeper darkness. Only then does Odin falter. His gaze skips to the ceiling. Dozens of chandeliers swing. Their flickering candlelight casts shifting shadows on the walls. Torches blaze in hand-dug sconces. Valhalla is a large place with many windows, but there is still plenty of fire to see by, at least for one accustomed to shadows. That’s when I realize something. The All-Father enforces strict order. He surrounds himself with light and glittering treasures. He seeks knowledge above all. Each truth holds an opposite in equal weight. He’s afraid of chaos, darkness, and most of all, the unknown. Father was right. He fears me."
The story is powerful even as brief as it is and I think is a great representation of the style of tales in this anthology. A wonderful collection of stories to add to anyone's book hoard. 5/5 Stars
This anthology was created as a benefit for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is comprised of retellings of Myths from a variety of cultures. I was not familiar with every myth represented here but I greatly enjoyed the stories presented.
The anthology started off strong with "The Man With No Name" by Antoine Bandele which I believe was based on an African myth I am not familiar with but I greatly enjoyed the story.
Some other stand outs for me were: "Line of Succession" by JB Caine, "Loom of Silk and Wrath" by Killian Wolf, "The Serpentine Sisterhood" by Erin Casey, "The Princess Called Death" by Catrina Bell, "The Shadowy Ones" by Elizabeth Merwin, and "The Base of the Totem" by Miski Harris.
Overall I greatly enjoyed this anthology and would recommend to anyone who loves a good myth retelling.
I really enjoyed this book. It has several stories written by some amazing authors!
Each unique story is a take on a lore or myth, pulling from different cultures. I love the different feel and flow of each story Forgotten Lore offers. There is something for everyone!
The best part is that this anthology was created for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
A fantastic book for a fantastic cause. This book will make a great graduation gift for your high school and/or college graduates!
A set of 11 stories, which are inspired by various ancient myths. 🔸️ Some of the stories are modern retellings, some are loosely based on Greek mythology, some joins and twists different myths. Few are longer, most are shorter. All are very well written.
🔸️Each story has different atmosphere. You will find here: adventure, friendship, love, sacrifice, revenge, betrayal, survival and many hard choices.
🔸️ The anthology is a great reminder of wisedom and truth about human nature locked in ancient lore.
🔸️My favourite stories are: "Loom of Silk and Wrath" by Killian Wolf "The Princess Called Death" by Catrina Bell.

This is a mixed bag of different types of lore and short stories showing a new twist from characters that were both known and unknown to me. Each story was fun to read.
I enjoyed the stories and am happy to support a charity anthology especially the ASFP whom I have a personal respect for.
This was a really fun anthology of some great stories. I love learning more about mythology, and these authors all had a fresh take on stories that most of us know in some capacity already. Both Wolf and Hanov wrote stories that gripped me from beginning to end. This anthology was a great pallet cleanser between two long novels and a fun way to be engaged with short tales.
If you are really into Mythology this is probably a book for you . While I enjoyed a few, I didn't enjoy all of them. The stories I liked the most were The Base of the Totem, The Shadowy Ones, Beneath the Streets, and Blood Sacrifice. Since the proceeds go to a charity it makes it worth the purchase.
Fantastic collection of mythology stories. Great lengths for short stories, and loved the variety. Some fantastic characters and retellings! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys short mythology stories. (Each story took about an hour to read)
Super fun and easy read that benefits The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention! 11 short retellings from mythology all by different authors! Some of the stories I have heard before, but most I haven’t. Great read for those that like mythology retellings!
