The Alpha broke me. Now I’m supposed to be his mate for my pack’s sake. I was so eager to prove I’m not an outcast that I accidentally agreed to be his bride. I didn’t know that I’d be the mate of the Alpha who shattered my innocence. Neither did I know that my curvy body would soon grow big with his baby…
I’ve been ridiculed for my curves all my life. So I found the strength to reinvent myself. But any reinventions melt away when things from the past are thrown right back in my face. Like the Alpha who betrayed my heart and now claims he owns my body. Like the mate who takes one look at me and decides that I’m his alone.
I told myself that I was over him. But here I am, trying and failing to resist his claim. My curves are practically shaking in his presence, embarrassing me with their need. My body is practically begging for his touch, humiliating me with its desire. And as my belly grows, I wonder…will the Alpha soon get tired of his willing, vulnerable toy?
Or is he my fated mate?
Sparkle Hollow is a small paranormal town where wolves howl to the moon, mates chase each other through the woods, and alpha males claim their women until their bellies grow with the proof of their love…
Lyra Atlas was born in Oakland to an English mother and Scottish dad who passed on to her their fascination with the Arthurian Legends and other tales of famous kings and queens. Unsurprisingly, Lyra developed a penchant for court love and everything that’s magical and mystical—and this seeps into her writing. Her stories often feature powerful alphas braved by quietly seductive females and other unexpected, inspiring heroines.
Lyra lives with her partner Mark in San Diego, and cherishes their daily strolls along the Strand. When looking for inspiration, she goes for a hike in the charming mountain town of Julian where she will lose herself observing the Victorian-style houses and quaint stores, envisioning stories of bygone lovers, their stolen hearts, kisses and touches.
2.5 Stars Amirah was rejected by Jeremy when they were 15years old and she has not gotten over....15 years later. She has a lot of issues because she was overweight when she was young, not very bright and not a warrior. Jeremy was trained to put the pack first and he did not have a loving father. This was not a warm romance. I got whiplash from how Amirah acted, especially towards Jeremy. One minute she is acting like she has herself together and the next she is snapping at him because of her insecurities. The sad part is that she made him more unsure of himself by her judgements. She emasculated him on more than one occasion. So much so that even 90% in, they were still awkward with each other. In general, he kept getting comments about how Amirah's presences improved him. Wow, that will make an alpha feel powerful! The whole mating and shifting elements were not that impactful. They said a few words and bam, they were mated. They shift back and forth and still had their cell phones. I don't understand why the blurb included the pregnancy when it didn't occur until almost the end and was not an issue.
Did I like this book? Yes. Would I read it again? Probably not. Did it fit with the first story in the series? Absolutely not.
I felt that there was no real pizzazz between the two characters. They were more like sorta friends who got married. I never really got the feel that they had once been in love. Even when the heroine finally decides that she's in love with the hero, I didn't feel that. My biggest issue, however, is that it did not seem to fit with the first book in the series. In the first, they would thank the "wolf god", and in the second book it was the "moon goddess". In the second books, their wolves were active participants, and in the first, they never talked to them or had separate names for their wolves. I also didn't feel that Lex and Grace from book one would have sprung the idea of an arranged marriage as a surprise.
What starts as an arranged marriage for a political alliance between packs, turns into a slow burn rekindling of love and a sweet second chance romance. When Amirah volunteers to help her pack she didn't expect it to be an arranged marriage, especially to her childhood sweetheart now turned alpha that had broken her heart and rejected her - Jeremy. Is the alpha a changed man, has he always regretted his rejection, does he want a second chance with the girl he let walk away, and can Amirah open her heart again ... Read this paranormal romance book in the Sparkle Hollow series for action, romance, acceptance, vulnerability, redemption, spice, second chances, and shifter drama.
Amirah is given the task from her current pack Sparkle Hollow to marry the alpha of the pack Northern Wind and become his Luna. The joining of the two packs will form an alliance against their common enemy, the MoonStone Pack. The big kicker? The Alpha is none other than Jeremy Braun, the mate that fifteen years ago toyed with her feelings for months before outright rejecting her, saying she was not good enough to be his Luna. Knowing she couldn’t let the pack down, she just hopes she’s not walking into another version of her previous rejection. Jeremy has never wanted a Luna; he feels that having to balance work and personal life is something that is too hard and dangerous to do, so he doesn’t want to try. Amirah is a game changer, but can she forgive him enough for it to be more than a marriage of convenience? Are the feelings still there? To say they have a long road ahead of them is putting it lightly.
They have pack issues, problems with enemies, a mating ceremony, trying to figure out if they can have more than a platonic relationship, Amirah learning to be Luna, Jeremy learning to balance running the pack and being a mate, and they have to form a bond that shows present so everyone can tell that they are mates and that the pack now has a Luna.
The story has a lot of back and forth between the MMC and the MFC, but the s*x in the book is actually pretty minimal compared to others I have read. If you enjoy reading about second chances, forced proximity, possessive MMC, Touch her and 💀 and a MFC that gives as much sh*t as she gets, then this is definitely a book that needs to be added to your list.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is a good story with great characters. Keeps your attention until the end. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The characters are sexy, and they have the chemistry; however, the scenes in the book are minimal.
If you want a book that is pretty much zero romance (unless it’s between the wolves, they were lovely to each other), the angst of a teenage written Vella, and the constant. Freaking. Bashing. Of the male (I honestly wanted to step into the book and have a “come-to-Jesus” talk with the female lead). The woman is so riddled with insecurities that she DOESN’T GET HELP FOR that it makes the character not only weak and annoying but somehow gives her a superiority complex over the MMC.
I am so sick of the “I am woman hear me roar cause I don’t need no man” FMCs in romance novels. If you’re anti man just make the other character a woman, it’s not that hard. OR switch the character roles and if it would tick people off because a man would act that way don’t you think the same for a female character? I read the first book and it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either, this one is just so bad. I’ll try the 3 rd one but won’t be actively seeking any more of the authors work, sorry.
Amirah and Jeremy met as teenagers and fell in love, but then Jeremy rejected Amirah saying that he would be an Alpha one day and he needed a strong mate, not a weak one. This statement played into Amiriah’s insecurities. She was constantly ridiculed, being call names to knock her down, by her pack. However, when her pack needed a volunteer, she stepped up. Jeremy was trying to be the best Alpha he could be, but when an alliance was suggested, between his and Sparkle Hollow pack, he can’t believe a marriage is needed. He quickly changes his mind when he finds out who the bride will be. Ameliah forgives Jeremy but trusting him is another thing entirely! What a wonderful story: both Amirah and Jeremy have trust issues they need to work out, their enemy is also a constant threat. New characters are introduced, hopefully to have stories of their own.
This second book in the Sparkle Hollow Wolves series is about Amirah and Jeremy. Amirah is the personal secretary of the pack's Luna, Grace. Amirah always felt like an outsider because the pack made fun of her since she was a well-endowed curvy woman who was rejected by her true mate. Years later, Amirah volunteered to go to a rival pack to negotiate an alliance with the Northern Wind pack that just got a new alpha running it. The condition is Amirah will be marrying the new alpha. When Amirah arrives at the Northern Wind pack, she discovers the alpha is Jeremy the mate who rejected her. What occurs is an engaging second chance shifter romance that I'd enjoyed reading with its drama, romance, and entertaining storyline. I'd received this copy and volunteer to read and review.
In order to have a better strategic position against the Moonstone Pack, the Sparkle Hollow Pack and the Northern Wind Pack join forces in a marriage of convenience. To Jeremy's surprise, it's the very woman he rejected 15 years ago because she wasn't good enough to be his luna.
Lyra Atlas cleverly plays with Amirah`s and Jeremy's emotions. Their conflict between the loyalty to their pack and their shared past, initially causes great discomfort between the two. - I liked how they both made an effort to approach each other. And in the end, what has always belonged together comes together.
✅Arranged marriage ✅Rejected mate ✅Fated mate ✅Second chance
Amirah and her wolf Alessia were rejected at only 15 years old and she holds onto that pain with a firm grip. Fast-forward 15 years and she’s mating the same guy for an alliance to her pack…do people evolve as they get older?
This was very meh, one moment Amirah has her shit together the next she’s snapping at Jeremy, which isn’t helping his own insecurities…this continued for 90% of the book😅 I’m glad the managed to find their happy ending but my god girl get some therapy
Rejection is hard shout to deal with let alone a fated mate. Even though Amidst was young the rejection had traumatic affect on her emotional growth. Entering into an arranged match and alliance compounds the situation.
I don’t know if this is a spoiler or not. This was quite unlike any romance book I’ve ever read not just shifter. Until the end of the book they were still in separate rooms. There were long periods of time they were apart as well. Very unshifter like.
What can I say this book was great. I loved each and every one of the characters!!!! The plot was simple and enjoyable. The storyline was very good. I was able to read it in2 days an finish it off. I suggest that you give this books chance and read it.
The book was ok but the leads did not inspire or seem at all to like each other until the end. I hoped for more. The store line was ok but the growth of the characters could have been much better! It would have nice to see the second in command to have a storyline and the sister.
I knew Alpha Lex's secretary was a snake. I also knew he would want to hurt Amira. I'm so glad she decided to give her mate another chance, just in time too. I wonder what will become of Aiden.
I enjoyed getting more of Sparkle Hollow. Jeremy and Amirah’s story was good. They have a history and now are thrown back together. Really liked this short story !
