Wayward Souls #6

Delta Force: Priest

Rate this book
After years of facing physical threats, he’s about to fight a war based on ones and zeros.

Retired . . .

Aaron “Priest” West never thought he’d utter that one word, until his team is disbanded and he’s left with a difficult choice — take on a new crew or start fresh as a civilian.
Having a job waiting as part of his ex-teammate’s company, Wayward Souls, lessens the sting of walking away from the service.
Getting called into action before he even makes it to the bar for a drink, a stark reminder that he hasn’t stepped back from the fray, just yet.
The fact it’s to help the woman who’s been haunting his dreams for the past few months only adds to the urgency.

Discovering she’s the target of the mastermind who’s been hunting his former teammates means Priest’s buckling in for one hell of a wild ride.
Except, this mission won’t be won or lost based on his skills.
It all comes down to Becca Tate — NSA technical analyst, and the woman bound to be his undoing.

Becca’s feisty, headstrong, and the only one who can break the code.
But if her insane hacking skills don’t get them arrested - her determination to uncover the truth might get them killed.
It’s going to take everything Priest learned in the Teams, and a healthy dose of luck, to stay ahead of the threat without losing Becca in the process.
Because Priest wants that fresh start, but there’s no future beyond Delta without Becca in it.

I’m just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. I took the midnight train…oops, sorry. Got off-track.

Author, hobbit, and crazy lady running in the woods, I’m either madly creating masterpieces in my dungeon, or out chasing Bigfoot with my dogs.

I see myself as unapologetically Canadian, and I love all things maple syrup.

Everything was both over and under explained. It took freaking pages of MCs internal thoughts and askign "did what I think happened actually happen?" Then someone saying "well you're probably not far off because the thing you thought was gonna happen DID, in fact, sort of happen when the other things happened" but not with actual details. Literally it was just sooooo much internal monologing but using vague language until, as a reader, you're ready to scream "JUST TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED FFS!!"

I spent the whole book skimming past unbelievable situations, manymanymany side characters from previous series so mentions of their love story/SO meant nothing but also took up space in my brain. Is that character important? Should I understand who their gf is or why she is significant to this? Look up the name, realize this is the first mention of that particular side character but clearly I'm supposed to know who they are. But also here's a brief summary of their love so you may want to check out their book.

It was like the author was philabustering her own novel.

not all heroes wear capes

Aaron/Priest and Becca. A special ops team leader newly discharged and a NSA hacker extraordinaire. Strengths come in all forms and this story shows that clearly with the men having the strength and focus from military training that gets them out of danger and recovers the items and people needed to solve the problem, but it is Becca who puts all the Information together and finds all the locations and secrets needed to get the team to the right places. Their romance is sweet and chemistry hot. The friendships between the them and another couple is fun and sweet with some great dialogue. Most of the men are present in this book, along with some new ones such as Fetch and his k-9. Outliers who are unofficial team members in by book such as Brady and Bishop were also present and I love Bishop more and more! Overall a good read and one that has me more invested in this world and wanting more stories.

Wow! Kris has done a fabulous with Priest. She has crafted Becca with smarts, sass, determination & a touch of venerability. You absolutely adore her & her take charge manner. Priest sends shivers down your back with his intensity & how he values Becca's smarts. Boy do they burn the sheets giving off heat! Every team member you love appears; banter, laughter, love & camaraderie galore. A series you have to read!!!

Becca Tate works for the NSA as a technical analyst.

Wow!

Non stop action! Form the first attempted kidnapping, to the hint about Dungeon and Gibson's story. Really? Have to wait some more? Anyway, action packed story here. Breath taking (literally) twists and turns. I think I turned blue and got light headed a time or three. A good read. I look forward to the next book. Write faster!

Excellent

Becca was a brilliant hacker, she hacked into the wrong thing and put a target on her back. Priest had met Becca before and when he heard she was in trouble he came running. Excellent story.

Please study English and grammar

Riddled with errors and disjointed writing, which makes an incredible storyline some tough sledding. A good read done wrong. I won’t buy any more.
