Tracie Tanner works in the world's most dangerous hot-spots.On the most high-stakes assignments. And she works alone. When U.S. Secretary of State J. Robert Humphries is kidnapped out of his Washington, D.C. home at gunpoint, all evidence points directly to the Soviet Union as the responsible party.Still recovering from her injuries suffered earlier in the summer, covert ops specialist Tracie Tanner is tasked by CIA Director Aaron Stallings to follow the evidence and recover Humphries safely from the Soviets. There's only one problem - Tanner's not convinced the Soviets are involved.Soon, she's ruffling feathers, risking her career, and once again running for her life, betting everything on a hunch that might just get her and Humphries killed and result in the start of World War Three. With non-stop action, plot twists you'll never see coming, and a tough, dedicated - but fallible and surprisingly relatable - heroine, ALL ENEMIES will leave you breathless until the final shocking page.

Consider this review a SPOILER, although it may not turn out to be.
One of my favorite shows as a kid, was The Lone Ranger. They would start each show with "Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear.". That is what the Tracie Tanner series has been like. Only she doesn't have a faithful Indian companion to do her recon for her. As with Parallax View this story takes place in the waning years of the Cold War. Far from being hailed a hero for her courageous acts in the last book, her only supporter is President Reagan, whose life she saved. Here we learn of deep seated bureaucracy where traitorous acts of high ranking officials gets swept under the carpet. In this book, Tracie is tasked with find the kidnapped Secretary Of State, a close friend of the President. In a classic misdirection meant to place the blame squarely on the Russians, she is quick to conclude otherwise. Her attempt to prove her theory gets her fired, but that didn't stop her. With everyone focused on The Soviet Union, nobody is paying attention to Iraq.
This is an excellent follow-up to Parallax View and I look forward to #3 in the series.
Tracie again from Russia back to Washington D.C.. Reagan 1987 September. Just few months after saving his life, working without any support. Again she is not heard or given the chance to explain. Is it because gender? Iraq is in war with Iran, after the release of hostages U.S.A. selling them supplying them what they need. But remember Col. North was selling to Iran too. Secretary of State Humphries is kidnapped, Head of CIA and FBI are trying to out do each other, they aren't listening the people doing the real work. Just like in August 2001, even Bush didn't listen the warnings those intelligent agents brought to him, he kept on vacationing in TX. There are few things in this story, like Tracie not washing her urine soaked hands, they had coffee at the CIA cafeteria not lunch. Also she is trained, experienced field operative packed rope but not gloves. There are more stuff overlooked in editing. Yes, this is fiction, but Reagan with advancing dementia quit at 17:00. Also use of 12:30 a.m., should be 00:30. It's a really good thriller, read this and enjoy it.
I like the Tracy Tanner character. She is human, flawed but highly capable in a believable way. After reading book two, I still dislike this authors use of actual people in a work of fiction. I don't know how this is legal. For that reason, I'm moving on from n this series.
Tracie Tanner is a very experienced CIA agent that finds herself in dangerous and critical situations that she always finds a way out of. Great believable story lines that keep you reading well past time for lights out.
I have a hard time reviewing books, only because I hate giving things away. So I tend to be very vague. Allan Leverone is a wonderful writer. With each book he writes the stories get more exciting and his characters more appealing. I enjoy books that are series. Good characters become friends and it is sad when you know that is the last time you get to be in their world. The Tracie Tanner thrillers are books you do not want to do want to to end but you need to know what happens. I could not put the book down. I also love the fact that President Reagan is in the book. Being a woman it amazes me when a man writes a woman character, especially as the protagonist, and does it extremely well. Mr. Leverone does just that. I truly believe you will not be disappointed if read this series. You will be totally glad you did and look forward to the next one. You may even want to buy all three so you do not need to wait!! So as always, find your favorite chair, grab a strong cup of coffee, a relaxing spot of tea, or an amazing glass of wine, and enjoy the adventure!
All Enemies by Allan Leverone is well paced and easy to read. The political intrigue in Washington is realistic and the backdrops are compelling. Leverone pulls you into the drama with the main character Tracie Tanner attractive, yet tough and no nonsense. However the book is poorly edited with repeating paragraphs and numerous grammatical errors that throws the reader off. The editing errors were puzzling since the book was purchased as a Kindle e-book which can be republished with corrections at any time. I slogged through it because I felt it was worthwhile and the ending left me wanting to read more.
All Enemies is the second book in the Tracie Tanner series by Allan Leverone. This book may have actually been more intense than the first book. When the Secretary of State is kidnapped from his home at gunpoint, Tracie doesn't buy the story told by the evidence left at the scene. She has very little support for her theories and finds herself on her own trying to solve the case. This story has non-stop action and after finishing it, I am an even bigger fan of Tracie Tanner. Now on to the third book in the series.
Well written exciting plot. Good editing. I know I sound like a broken record, but editing is important. One point must be made concerning Presidential successiion. The Secretary of State is number 4 behind the Senate President Protem, the Speaker of the House and the VP.
Just finished the second a the first three books sold under a package and The author and Tracie Tanner just rock! The fist was good and the second is even better could not put it down with full of actions and suspense! The plot and characters are very well used and placed! Thanks to the author for sharing!
Overall this book was very well-written. Some of the writing style becomes a little repetitive and cliche (a minute turned to two, two became three,... was used numerous times). That said, the story line pulls the reader in with vivid imagery. I will definitely read more by Leverone.
