Hating Mr. Write
As a single mom of two, my me-time is sacred. Especially when I volunteer to help my best friend plan her wedding in her small-town. I guess it’s a good thing that my guilty pleasures involve staying up late to devour all the love stories I can.
I don’t have time for real life romance. And the idea of there being a Mr. Right for me is purely fictional.
Proof of there being no hope for my love life? My neighbor for the playboy Jagger Brooks. He may be on par with the sexiest of my literary lovers, but his cocky attitude makes me want to DNF.
Until I get a glimpse of the real him. He may be all broody playboy on the outside, but the inside is a cinnamon roll to rival any of my favorite book boyfriends. And for once I experience the type of spicy scene I’ve only ever read about. But no matter how appealing it would be to give love a real chance, I’m only here for the summer, I can’t get attached.
Too bad my heart didn’t get the memo.

Hating Mr. Write is a novella about Jagger and Hayley. Jagger is a playboy bar owner and writer and Hayley is a divorced single mom who moves in to the house next door for the next three week while she helps her best friend plan her wedding. This was a quick, easy and fun read. I’m don’t usually like the Instalove trope but I really did enjoy it in this story and the interactions between Jagger and the kids were just precious. This was the first book that I read by Breanna Lynn but I can’t wait to read more by her.

This was my first book by Breanna Lynn, but definitely not my last! Jagger Brooks is the grumpy neighbor of the Airbnb Hayley rents for the summer while attending her best friend’s wedding. Recently divorced, Hayley’s focus is on her kids, while Jagger—known as the town playboy—secretly writes romance novels under a pen name. Frustrated by writer’s block and a bad review from a certain blogger, he’s struggling with his next book… until Hayley moves in next door.
From the start, their attraction is undeniable, but Jagger’s initial rudeness—especially toward her daughter—puts them at odds. However, once he apologizes, the dynamic between them shifts. If you’re not into insta-lust, this book might not be for you, but in this case, I didn’t mind it. A single kiss sets everything in motion, leading to a no-strings-attached summer fling—except neither of them expected real feelings to get involved. With Hayley’s stay being temporary, their relationship has an expiration date… or so they think.
I loved watching Jagger’s relationship with Hayley’s kids grow. He truly cared for them, and those little family moments made the romance even sweeter. Plus, he adored their dog! The spice? So good. And his dirty talk? Even better.
If you’re looking for a fun, light read between heavier books, this novella is perfect—it’s under 200 pages but still delivers a satisfying romance. In the end, everything falls into place, and they get their well-deserved HEA.

This was a cute and spicy novella that I devoured in one sitting!
Jagger meets Hayley when she and her two kids plus their dog rent our the AirBnB next door to him. They don't click from the start but once they hang out more, they learn more about each other. I love how Jagger is known for his playboy ways until he falls for Hayley, her kids, and their dog.
He's great with them.

Thank you to Breanna Lynn for allowing me to read a copy of this book. I just gotta say that this book is kind of like a summer read and cozy fall read all rolled into one for me. I would absolutely read this by the fire on a cold, winter's night. But I would also devour this book while suntanning at the beach. I loved Hayley and Jagger's story. This book had great pacing, and it felt wholesome. I am interested in Shep and Jade's relationship though. I'm probably going to be checking that out soon. 10/10 recommend for anyone who's looking for a good romance for any part of the year.

So I’m not typically someone who enjoys reading novellas at all . That being said anything written by Breanna Lynn truly is the exception. Hating Mr Write was such a fun , sweet and steamy read , exactly the change I was looking for . I mean what’s not to love about a great Small Town, Single Mom and Grumpy Sunshine love story . Jagger is known as the towns playboy , he’s the owner of rhe town bar who can pretty have any women he wants without having to lift a finger and has no plans to settle down . Haley is a single mom of two adorable kids who is renting the house.next door to him . She definitely has not had an easy life so that makes her hesitant to let people in . What starts off as a not so smooth meeting very quickly ends up being so much more . Jagger has set his sights on her , he’s determined to prove that he’s the guy for her . The way that he’s there to help and support her , how sweet he is with her kids it’s such a beautiful thing . I cannnot remember the last time I smiled , laughed out loud, sobbed like a baby and rooted so freaking hard all at once like I did with this amazing story .

Jagger presents himself in only a towel when Hayley mistakes his house for her vacation chalet. Backyard encounters with her children and pet lead to apologies and future friendships between them. Passions of alight and feelings emerge, but can they last longer than the three-week visit? Since discovering Breanna Lynn's writing rockstar books, I have enjoyed reading every book she has written. Breanna Lynn's books have steam, romance, and believable characters with a guaranteed HEA and no cheating.

A wonderful steamy and sweet love story that sees a grumpy, small-town somewhat of a playboy falling for the single mom who is visiting for the summer. Hating Mr. Write hits the spot if you are looking for a story that has terrific banter, and funny moments and makes you feel good all over.
Ms. Lynn tells us the story of Jagger, the town's playboy who is the owner of the town's bar. He never wants to settle down until Haley rents the house beside him with her two kids and dog. Their first meeting is not all roses and assumptions are made until they realize she is there to attend the wedding of the same people. Things take a turn and the sparks fly.
Jagger will swoon you with the way he embraces her kids and the dog. I love the character development he had from the initial meeting. Haley has had a rough time in life and Jagger is the one to show her that not all is dark and depressing but you can find love again.

The fall in love, both not expecting it - but when Jagger finds out some unknown information about Hayley, he acts badly - he loses her - he needs a grand gesture......

My first book read by Breanna Lynn!
This was such a cute novella and a quick read! I always love a single parent romance with a fun meet-cute.
Hayley and Jagger’s unexpected romance was a breath of fresh air, a perfect palette cleanser. Jagger started out as a jerk but our opinion of him quickly changed. Since this was a fast paced book, we got to see the two fall in love in a short period of time without loosing the relationship building you normally see in a longer book… do I wish it had been longer ? YES!! Only because I wanted to read so much more of their story. I would love to see Jagger’s relationship grow even more with the kids. He was exactly what the family needed. Someone who actually CARED about them and wanted to spend time with them.
I will definitely read more by this author!

Oh, Jagger and Hayley. And don’t forget Maisie, Declan and Teddy. Hayley is a single mom traveling to Aspen Falls for her best friends wedding. But she shows up at the wrong house (next door) and literally falls into Jagger, the towns playboy and bar owner. She instantly despises him, but he’s the best man in the wedding. He slowly breaks down her walls, engages with the kids and boy does it heat up. It he’s keeping a secret, he’s a best selling romance author and only his sister knows. And of course she’s keeping an even bigger secret, she’s Rocky Mountain Romance Reader with a big following and gave his last book a bad review. What happens when they find out? Full of tension, angst, spice, second chances, friends and family, love and so much more. Loved seeing Shep and Jade getting married in this. Can’t wait for the next book!!

Wow, I'm a little bit speechless after finishing this Novella. Under 200 pages, devoured in one sitting.
Hayley arrives at her vacation rental while visiting Aspen Falls for her best friends wedding, only to come face to face with the playboy neighbor Jagger Brooks who happens to be the best man.
I was immediately hooked to this love story. It warmed my heart to see Hayley finally get the love she deserves. Jagger is 100% the perfect book boyfriend.
The spice in this book did not disappoint, I was actually kind of shocked how well it was written, sometimes I find books are all smut no plot. This novella is the perfect balance in my opinion.
Highly recommend picking this up.

This book was a feel good story. The two main character not getting along to start, but something clicks.
Add in an adorable little girl and an angst teen plus a cute puppy and you have a very nice read.
Theres a twist that i had suspicion of what was going to happen but its got a hea.
Overall an easy weekend read, I had to finish the book, as I didn't want to put it down. Will certainly be looking out for future books by this author.

Jagger and Hayley were amazing... Hayley is a single mom of two who is in town to help her best friend with her wedding. Jagger is the owner of the bar and best man with a secret side gig. I loved the connection between them and how hard Jagger fell for the kids as well as Hayley. There was a few times towards the end I wanted to shake Jagger but he realized his mess up and fixed it! 10/10 would recommend!!

Cute fun novella!
I was thrilled when one of my go to authors decided to write a novella with a sexy guy who secretly writes romance books. Add in a cute 5 year old and a dog and I'm completely sold! Jagger and Hayley were amazing together with so much chemistry! And it was great to see Jagger step up with her kids also. This is the perfect book to read if you are in the mood to relax and day dream about your next book boyfriend!

This was a heartwarming, fun, feel good novella. Hayley’s first impression of her neighbour Jagger is how he knows everyone sees him, but that soon changes once she sees another side to him. I loved the chemistry between Jagger & Hayley and how he took to her kids, including them into their plans of days out and movie nights. And what’s not to love about a guy who secretly writes romance novels. I couldn’t put this book down! Another great read from Breanna.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5! This novella was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy and a great way to get myself back into romance after going on a suspense/thriller book spree. Jagger is the small town playboy/romance author who sets his sights on the single mom next door. I was sucked into this book from the moment I started reading and read it right through without stopping. This is my first time reading writings from this author and it definitely won’t be my last!

Unfortunately, the two kids and the dog held my interest way more than the adults.
Hayley, her kids and her dog are vacationing next door to Jagger, a romance writer, whom Hayley once trashed his book review! Jagger's one redeeming characteristic is that he makes Hayley's children feel valued, totally unlike their selfish father!
Nevertheless, this book was just missing something that I never connected with.

A feel good story! The romance is fast paced but also so genuine. Recently divorced mother with 2 kids staying at an AirBNB for a wedding. The best man lives in the house next store and their attraction is instant. Best man appears to be Playboy material but man he is so much more than meets the eye. A must read!

Jagger a romance writer and Hayley a single mom and blogger. When Hayley arrives with her children and dog for her best friend's wedding she meets Jagger. They have a rocky start as the story they begin to get close and their relationship blooms into something real. I loved how Jagger bonded with the children. However, there is a small snag, but they get their HEA.

This book. Lynn’s writing is once again exceptional, gets better with each book. Jaggers character arc is swift and amazing and he’s so wonderful to our jaded divorced heroine. I loved the twist ending that brought the entire story full circle. Overall fantastic read and I look forward to more from the author in the future.

The first book I read from this author was Written in the Beat and I devoured it. This book was no different. I absolutely fell for Jagger. He was the right person for Hayley and she needed him more than she knew. This book gave me everything I could want in a story. I absolutely loved and devoured it.

Opposites attract for these two & after a shaky start, turned casual fling, just as they start to consider a future, revelations of their identities shake them again.
I loved that the kids were front and centre throughout both of there thoughts and the relocation timeframe was realistic. That alone made this read true rather than an OTT insta romance.

This story was so fucking swoon worthy. The dirty talk, f***, the dirty talk! It was so steamy. But more than that, it was so damn “please let this happen to me.” It was so cute. Single mom finding the love and happily ever after she deserves. Need a feel good love story with spice - this is the one write 😉 here!

Hating Mr. Write was a sweet and fun novella that is a perfect palette cleanser. It was perfect for getting me out of a reading slump. She has just been through a bad divorce and isn’t looking for a relationship. Jagger is a playboy and best friend of the groom…and he secretly writes romance novels! Yes please! I loved the way he was with Hayley’s kids and he was exactly what Hayley needed. Overall, this was a great read that will leave your heart happy and a smile on your face!

Absolutely loved this book! I have been searching for a book that I can’t put down and this did not disappoint! Single mom of 2 and their sweet puppy with a HEA! Don’t skip on this one it is a must read!!!

This was such a wonderful novella! I love a single parent book. Haley and Jagger are great together!! I think Maisie and Declan were pretty awesome too! I couldn't stop reading once I started reading. I highly recommend this book!! 💙💜
