As usual, these short story collections are solid, if variable. Not sure about squeezing in a pirate combat adventure in between Star Trek's II & III, but the best (and most melancholy) story is easily a very lonely Odo, contemplating his existence in a time far beyond even Discovery's 31st century setting. One of those collections where you'll find at least one or two stories that hit all the bullseyes.
A mixed bag. 'Lost and Founder', featuring an Odo who's been wandering the galaxy alone for over 2000 years looking back on his life, is brilliance, and actually moved me to tears. 'Sundering' is also excellent - and I realise now is by the same author, David Mack. The rest of the stories range from 'good' to 'fine. There's no clunkers here, but in some cases the limited length (shorter even than many short stories) renders several of the stories quite inconsequential.
