My Evangeline and Sophie:

Anomaly (as well as whole Casual Enchantment series) is action-packed novel, full of twists that kept me guessing till the very end. The world author built in this series is without the doubt one of the most unique and fascinating things I have came across within YA fantasy genre to the date. Written in dual POV of Evangeline and Sophie, Anomaly is a must read for all fans of this exciting series!

"There are only so many impossible decisions one being can make before the weight becomes to much."

Sophie is the most tragic character in this series and definitely my favourite one. Author potrayed her despair and turmoils perfectly in this book and I could not help myself but be Sophie’s biggest fan. She is my "hero" of this series and I was so glad I was able to see things through her eyes in this instalment.

So why not 5 stars? I expected Evie to mature, to change mentally. But she didn’t. And while her naivité was charming at the beginning of the series; now, when there was whole world and innocents lives at stake, it was very annoying. In series, I expect characters to change a little bit, to grow one way or another. Not doing the same mistakes over again, hoping some higher power will solve it at the end.

But beside this minor complain, I enjoyed conclusion to Casual Enchantment series. I really hope K.A. Tucker decide to venture into this paranormal/fantsay genre again in the future.

The ending to the Causal Enchantment series is like its predecessors – exciting and dramatic with some huge shocks and lots of twists and turns.

Evangeline has come a long way in this series, and though there is danger lurking in the wings, she is finally who she wants to be, and she has her man and her best friends by her side. But, like always, things are not as they seem, Evangeline is wielding powers that are completely unexpected, and she is just….. different. Now, with the clock ticking down to war and the possible end of the world, and the mystery of exactly what Evangeline is evolving into ever-present, she and her friends need to band together like never before if they are going to survive what’s coming.

Pretty much anything I say at this point will be a spoiler, so that’s all I’m going to say about the storyline, but this book moves at a great pace as everything that has been building over the series all comes to an exciting and unexpected ending.

The thing I’ve enjoyed most about this series is the constant twists and turns. It’s not always clear where the story is going, and I like that I was kept guessing right up to the end how it was all going to turn out. I loved that there was the occasional blurring of the lines between right and wrong, and the constant question of betrayal and who to trust kept things interesting.

Thankfully, Evangeline seems to have grown up a little bit in this one. She’s still a bit whiny and she makes some stupid decisions, but in this one her decisions seem to have lucky consequences which stop her from appearing too stupid (though I did feel a bit slappy towards her at some points). I really liked Sofie’s part in this story. She’s been such an interesting character throughout the whole series, and I love that we got part of the story from her POV.

“There are only so many impossible decisions one being can make before the weight becomes too much.”

Pretty much all of the main characters go through some sort of trial and / or torment as the story builds to the final battle, and I read with a sense of disbelief at some of the goings on. And I’ve gotta say, as evil as the bad guy is, I really like his evolution.

I did have a bit of an issue with the ending though – I’m all for happy endings, but this one just seemed a little too good to be true. I mean, I know it’s a vampire book and everything, but a little bit more realism would have been good.

I’ve really enjoyed this series. It quickly sucked me in and kept me captivated and guessing the whole way through. And the big finale was great.

4 stars.

First Thoughts:

I am always so sad when a series that I love ends, and this book was no different. I feel like I have been waiting forever and a day for this book... which I was totally OK with considering all the other awesomeness that K.A was putting out... but I was super excited to finally get the ending of a fantastic series!

The Story:

This is a paranormal series unlike anything I have read before. It has vampires and witches, but they are just different somehow. K.A is able to create characters that just seem so freaking real regardless of the fact that they are well... not even human. This was the perfect ending to an amazing series. I am sad to say goodbye to it, but it definitely went out with a bang.

The Characters:

There are serieosuly so many characters in this series, but the main ones are of course Evangeline and Sophie... yes there is Caden as well (he is the super hot vampire) but this book is about more then romance which is a nice change from all the NA books I have been devouring lately.

Evangeline is just weird, everything about her is weird... he cant even be a normal vampire! But she is resourceful and she doesn't back down. She also is super loyal and loves her group of friends deeply. In each book she seems to posses some type of 'power' I guess we can call it, but in this book she takes power and knocks its freaking socks off!

Sofie... she is the manipulative conniving surrogate mother of Evangeline, and I will admit I kinda loved her. She always did was she thought was the best thing for Evangeline regardless of the consequences. She was willing to risk her life for her to the very end which is admirable. Did she go about it the wrong way? Without a doubt! But her heart was in the right place.

Final Thoughts:

This is a final book in a series that I wont soon forget, I was about 75% through reading it and my only thought was, this book CAN'T be almost over there is still SO much that has to happen. I had no clue how the story was going to end, I honestly didn't think there would be an HEA when I got to the last page because the twists and turns were just freaking insane! But rest assured the ending was FANTASTIC! I am sad that this series is over but I couldn't be happier with the way it went down! Thank you for another amazing book K.A!

Sofie!!!! you are my hero!!! Damn!!! poor woman had no one who would understand her...

Evie... I came to dislike her... for her it was only Caden and others who were important.
She had no right to be angry with Sofie, what the hell did she do with Max!!!
she betrayed him at every point and still expected him to trust her!!!
I wish, Max had not spoken to her and sided with Sofie.... that woman had my heart breaking all over. ... she had lost everyone she loved!!

I was even angry with Caden... how could he forget... she healed his best friend and brought back Fiona from dead... she could have easily been selfish and brought back her love - Nathan.

It was not as if she was enjoying it.. she was doing it for Evie.... her bloody whole existence was for Evie's happiness.. and what did Evie do??
and epilogue was half written.. I wish they had given more details about how Sofie and Evie reconciled and her first meet with Nathan...

What a great ending. I waited two years to read this for some reason. Probably on accident. So I didn't quite remember a lot, but I got through it. The revenge had a satisfied ending on all counts. I also felt this world has been left open ended.

But here's a real mind-bender…. KA Tucker created this series with the fates and the tub full of "worlds". Are the worlds from Burying Water and Ten Tiny Breaths two different worlds in that tub, or the same one??? Bum bum buuuuuum

Took me to book 4 before I realised the series was Causal Enchantment and not CASUAL enchantment. Yeh durrrr. Anyway. Fourth book was good although I felt a bit short so the quadrology could have been a trilogy. Took me a while to read but glad I did.

Anomaly is the final book in the casual enchantment series and I cannot explain how much I have absolutely adored it. I’m slightly bias because Kathleen Tucker is my favourite author of all time but I must admit even though that’s true I was slightly hesitant about picking any of these books up. Im not extremely into fantasy and find that if there’s too many made up creatures it starts to get to me and I just give up but this series has changed my view on fantasy all together. I loved reading about vampires and witches and curses and fate. I loved learning about them from another authors point of view and it was so interesting to see what parts of the myths she used to create these creatures.

The best thing about each book, especially anomaly was that even with 50 pages to go you HD absolutely no idea how it was going to end and that’s what made me instantly pick up the next book because I had to know how the series ended and I must say it did not disappoint.

Sofie was by far the character I was rooting for throughout the series (and not even because we share the same name - though this is amazing never the less). She was holding so much of the world together and many times wanted to give in and let it all go but she never did and that’s something I loved about her, and of course her constant sarcasm, as well as her friendship with Mage who was also a strong heroin.

I loved this series the most because the main characters were strong women who could fight for what they believed and each other. As naive and Evangeline was she never gave up on what or who was important to her.

Anomaly was fast paced and constantly had action coming from all directions. There was so much raw emotion and I was completely sucked in right to the very end. I loved it and I can’t wait to read it over and over again

Too much happy ever after never does it from me.
A good book overall, nice way to finish the series with the fates, I expected a bit more and i hate perfect endings, but I did like how the characters developed and changed, I enjoyed it, laughed a lot, Max is definitely the superstar although a bit left on the side in this last part.
Good series for vampire fans that are looking for something more.

Still adventurous

It was still well-written, and great characters but the plot for me wasn’t my cup of tea. The 3rd book killed me and then, I pretty much was hanging in there in this last book. Overall, it was still adventurous read! It truly had potential for paranormal story!

The book got way more complicated than I expected. I cannot believe how how big a role the Fates played, and how powerful Eve ended up becoming. The plot was engaging but not overall amazing. Satisfying end, but the beginning was a lot better. The series took some crazy, unexpected turns that I did not hate, but also did not need. Overall, not bad but not the best.

3.5 Stars!

Overall, this series averaged 3.5 stars for me. Most of what I didn't like involved Evangeline being naive and even a bit hypocritical (at least in this story) and EVERYTHING getting a fantastical HEA.

why I picked it up
I have read and adored the previous novels in this series and I couldn’t wait to see how K.A. Tucker finished off the series. I’ve been waiting for this book for a while!

plot
This novel was definitely the most eventful and thrilling of the series. Everything in this novel comes down to a boil–the fight with the Fates, the fight with Viggo, and the fight against the sorceresses. There’s destruction, hard decisions, betrayals, lies, deceit, kidnapping–basically everything under the sun. But oddly, it wasn’t overwhelming. Usually, when an author smushes this much action into a single novel, it seems rushed and confusing–not such the case with this novel. Everything flowed, and for the most part, everything that happened was understandable. The only part that I wished I would have known more about was the part with the Fates. That, I’ll have to admit, could have been expanded on a bit more.

Leading lady
Evangeline finally matures in this novel. Not that she was immature, it’s just that she grows out of her naive mindset. She finds out that not everyone is to be trusted, and that you can only depend on certain people to do you right. She also spends this novel adjusting to her new life as a vampire. Luckily, she’s a bit different, and that difference comes into play a lot in this novel. She grew as a person in this novel and became a lot stronger and more determined than she was in the previous novels. It was nice to finally see her grow into herself.

leading male
Caden was amazing, as always. He wasn’t as big of a part in this novel like he was in the previous ones. He was present pretty much at all times, but this novel wasn’t as centered around their relationship as it was about the action going on in the novel. So there isn’t much to say about him other than that we got to see a few emotions from him after certain events in the novel, and that he was always there for Eve when she needed him.

other characters
Sofie- Sofie was also an integral part of this novel. like she has been in the entire series. We have to see Sofie make some hard choices and struggle with her position as leader. We read some of the chapters from her point of view. which really shows us what is going on in her mind, as well as showing us why she did what she did. It was a complicated game that Sofie was a part of, and it was interesting to see how she dealt with it.

The Fates- The fates are the ones running this show. They have their players and are moving the pieces. They’re manipulative and deceitful, and what happens to them is interesting to say the least.

The others- The others weren’t as big in this novel to where they’d need their own little section,, but they were as awesome as always. Veronique and Julian were also adjusting to their lives as vampires, something terrible happens to Amelie, Bishop and Fiona are as cute as always, and Mage is as serious as she always has been.

romance
As I mentioned, the romance wasn’t the main focus in the novel. Although there was some, of course. But it wasn’t a big part of the story.

world buildling
K.A. Tucker definitely hit the nail on the head with the world building in this novel. The story of the downfall of the world was perfectly creative and realistic. It had different facets that it hit, and it was just great over all. It was definitely one of the better stories of the ‘apocalypse’ that I’ve read. So if you have a thing for the world ending, this is definitely the one for you!

conclusion
Anomaly was a thrilling conclusion to the story of Evangeline and her friends. It surpassed my expectations and more, with only a few minor things marring its perfection.

Anathema (book #1 in this series) was one of the first indie books I read when I got my first kindle (yes, I now have more than one!) just over two years ago. It was (and still is!) free and as a someone who tends to choose paranormal reads as my 'go to' genre, I loved the vampire and witch element. I worked my way through the first three books in the series, increasingly falling in love with the characters, the story line and K.A.'s writing style. I couldn't wait for Anomaly to come out and jumped at the blog tour sign up when I saw it.

Anomaly was the perfect conclusion to this series. The romance element was light, but it was fitting given the stage of development of relationships between characters. The entire time I was reading I was on the edge of my seat: the suspense K.A. created was amazing and I was desperate to understand what the fate of the characters, and in fact the world, was to be. I was hooked back into the story really quickly, even though quite some time had passed since I finished book #3. In fact I was quite surprised at the detail I was able to recall from previous books as I read Anomaly, which for me was a testament to K.A.’s story telling.

While there are a number of amazing characters in this series my favourites have always been Evangeline, Caden and Sofie, and book #4 was really about Evangeline's 'coming of age'. In the preceding books she was very much the vulnerable one, at risk on many fronts, with Caden and Sofie working to protect her. Now, there are things about Evangeline that no-one understands and she is far from the helpless girl she was before. Evangeline faces many challenges and is forced to question things she never thought possible. As she comes to grips with what is happening to her she begins to realise the fate of the world may very well rest in her hands and she must make choices about who she can trust, who she can't and just what she is prepared to do.

If you've started this series and enjoyed it I can't imagine you not following through to the conclusion, and in my humble opinion, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this final instalment. If you haven't yet picked up the Causal Enchantment series then you should. It is a different take on vampires, with witch magic thrown in and not to mention the pesky Fates manipulating circumstances for their own entertainment. K.A. Tucker has a gorgeous writing style and has built a world (in fact more than one) that is easy to get lost in.

I bowed my head into his chest and let my hands glide along the curves of his sculpted chest. "I don't even need to sleep anymore, but I want to. Just curl up in a ball, close my eyes, and enjoy the silence."
"I know what you mean." A hand brushed my hair off my forehead. "It's what happens when you know you have to make a hard decision."

The war has started but it is far worse than Evangeline could’ve ever imagined. And it has all started thanks to her actions. Now it is up to her to stop it before it ends the world and those that she loves most.

One word for this book? Chilling. It was absolutely chilling to read about all the death and destruction happening around everyone I've come to call family. You know, I am not sure I have ever had a book give me this sort of reaction. But I was definitely feeling it with this one. I hurt and grieved for my dear friends as they fought off the horrifying advances of Viggo. If they thought he was evil before, they sure weren't ready for the Scorned and Rejected version. Scorned and Rejected Viggo is about to dive deep into the bowels of hell and reign havoc on innocent people.

After the last book, ALLEGIANCE, I wasn’t entirely happy with Caden. But this time around I am. He is better and sure knows how to charm his way back into my good graces. And I happily accepted him back. But his charming ways don’t last long. Something horrifying happens and sets everyone on edge and breaks a few hearts. Evangeline is the only one that can help. How she does it is a mystery that even Sofie can’t explain. The Fates have their hand in her new change but at the moment the group of friends can’t tell if this is a good thing or a bad. Only time will tell.

But these ‘Fates’. Ugh. I am so over them. They sit there and play with people’s lives as if they are mere pieces in a game. Well, to them, people are. It is all a game with them. Literally. But I will say that I wasn’t expecting the story to go the way it did in the end. Do the Fates get what is coming to them? Or will they continue to wreak havoc on the worlds? Yes, a truly interesting turn of events will leave you gasping.

ANOMALY is an exciting, action packed, suspenseful read that will have you devouring the book to get to the ending…just aching to see how it ends for everyone involved. I know I was inhaling it and loving it throughout the entire book. 5 Incredible, Jaw Dropping Stars!

Where do I even begin?? Causal Enchantment is one of my favorite series and now it has come to an end.
I have had Anomaly for a little bit now but couldn't force myself to read it knowing that this is the FINAL book.. *wipes tear away*
But, I am not complaining. Ever since I started the series with Anathema, I have loved every single moment.
Each book brought unique and intriguing aspects to a fantastical world created by K.A. Tucker.
So, as I begin the final book of this amazing journey, I was biting my nails and holding my breath to see just how everything was going to be wrapped up....
AND let me say that K.A. Tucker did not disappoint on keeping me in suspense on what was going to happen to these awesome characters that I have fallen in love with so long ago.
We are brought back in right where we left off in the chaos of the events for Evangeline. I was relieved to see how things came around yet nervous to see where things were going to end up.
So much needed to happen for the world to come out right and I knew that each page I read was going to bring me that much closer to that end.
BUT...this is K.A. Tucker and she threw me for some loops in this one. There were the moments of "OMGs" and "NO FREAKIN WAYs" and then there were the ones that practically ripped my heart out only to ease that pain with some good news. I was laughing at some funny occasions and then turned around feeling the knot of worry in my stomach for what is to come. There were so many things I did not see happening and I love that she kept me guessing until the very end.
The ingenuity in the storyline captivated me from start to finish and I literally couldn't put it down. I was pleased at how it progressed in wrapping the story up. I felt that questions were answered accordingly and the finale tied it all together perfectly.
I am now sad that this series is over. I still can't believe it but I am elated that each and every book brought me these wonderful characters in to my life for that period of time.
I highly recommend that if you haven't started this series yet, you should start today...
If you are waiting for Anomaly to finish this fabulous series, then you will not be disappointed in the superb tale told within these pages.

What a great conclusion to the series. The POV changes worked well and moved the story along nicely. We were soooo close to a relatively clean yet addictive storyline but this one contains so cussing and more overt sexual content that my daughter is going to have to wait a bit longer. Good read from Mrs. Tucker (although I would expect nothing less!)

I enjoyed this unique spin in vampires, witches, werewolves and all the other creatures that go bump in the night. KA Tucker created a world where a human girl and a vampire/sorceress were pawns in a sick and somewhat twisted game the Fates were playing with Earth.

The final book in the series starts out with Evangeline discovering that despite being a newly turned vampire, she's not like other fledglings. But she doesn't have time to dwell on that, because Viggo has set off the war against the humans they were all trying to avoid now that Veronique has chosen Mortimer. It's now up to Evangeline and her friends to save the human race.

This was Evangeline's book. She'd grown from the scared eighteen year old human in love with a vampire, to a woman who was determined to right wrongs and to not repeat the world Mage, Caden, Amelie, Bishop and Fiona knew. Despite the fact that she was constantly lied to or forced into hiding under the guise of protecting her, she becomes a leader as they fight against Viggo. She didn't understand the power that she had, but she was going to use it to stop the madness Viggo was creating and the game the Fates were playing.

The author created a world that was unique, with villans that were fun to hate and characters that had you seriously questioning which side they were on. The action and suspense kept the storyline moving and the romance between Evageline and Caden sweet enough that you hoped they got their HEA. It's different, but a YA book (and series) that I'll be recommending to some of my sons friends.

Oh I wish I could do everything Evangeline can do! It was so cool and I loved how it tied into how to help everyone, including herself. So let me back up a little. After the last book and some begging on Sophie’s part, Evangeline had become like everyone she loves but is different from them. It’s a good different though! She’s always has been the odd one in the group. Better to be different than like everyone else I say!

I just loved everyone and everything that happened in the book. Still the characters are a great bunch and I’m happy how everything turned out for them. I just love happy endings! It took a while to get there between cruel and evil villains, destruction, hardships they endured, figuring out the right thing, and just staying alive but they made it.

I loved how easy it was to follow. Especially since it’s been probably almost 4 years since I last read the other 3 books in the series. Everything came back to me with the little tidbits given. So yeah, I loved the series and will probably stay as one of my favs.

I don't even know where to begin with this review. I've been waiting what feels like a thousand years for this book and to finally have it and read it, puts me in an amazing mood.

Now for the book, K.A Tucker posted something about this book that made me very nervous to even read this book, I thought she was going to kill off a lot of characters we have come to love. This book didn't disappoint, it kept going. Even when things became disastrous and you wanted to cry, you kept going because you had to know was the world going to die, would this world end up like the other, what was going on with Evangeline, what has Sofie done, etc, etc. I will not put any spoilers in here, if you have read this series and not this, than just read it all ready you will love it, if you haven't read the series well get to it, just don't plan on sleeping or taking any breaks.

Tucker thank you for this amazing series it has a deep pace in my heart and some day soon I will have these in print form, I have to. :)

GAME ON!!

Bitter sweet! It was such a great series that I hate to see it end, but also loved the book! Couldn't find a good place to put it down... So I didn't! It took me two days after finishing reading to write this because I was at a loss of words ( which seldom happens). This collection would make an AMAZING movie series!

If you are a fan of paranormal reads n haven't read these yet... READ THEM. Not just one all four! Great characters, great new twist on the paranormal with plenty of twist and turns. Some predictable. But MANY that you'll never see coming!!
Mrs. Tucker, four thumbs up!!!! Lol. But really amazing job and I hope to hear more of these type of novels from you!! Or maybe even a prequel with pov of one if the Ratheus Vampires and the start that unclouded there??... One way or another will be looking out for more of your books and than you for hours of entertainment!! (Do you think you could come help me catch up on housework now ;). )
