Very readable compared to original text. No reference points beyond headings.

This version of the bible makes it very easy to understand and can be read much like a novel. For me personally, I purchased the Kindle and the audible version as my comprehension is greatly enhanced by reading the words while listening to the words being read. The failure to include any references beyond the book heading makes it extremely difficult to find your place when you somehow have gotten out of sync with the audio version, or if you wished to find any specific reference. Except for that, I believe I will finish reading the bible from beginning to end for the first time in my many years of life.

I read this bible as part of a 40 day challenge and really enjoyed it. The "readers" format really makes things flow in a different sort of way and it is an experience I would recommend for anyone looking to change up their Bible reading.
As far as the NIV goes (it is now the 7th translation that I've read), I enjoyed it, but it didn't stick out to me really in any way, positively or negatively. It was a very enjoyable translation, but there wasn't anything about it that would bring it to the top of my list as a specific recommendation for someone...

This is (so far) my favourite "readers edition" of the bible. Easiest version to read large portions of passages, and get lost in the story.

The easiest reading Bible that I have used. Since it reads like a actual book. Paul's books sound like a letter without the distraction of chapters and verses. When just wanting to read thru the Bible, this is the version that I will use again.
