The main adversary is multi-faceted to the point that I wound up cherishing him regardless of the rage against him. When you begin perusing, you continue turning each page in succession. The book is speedy with a fascinating plot and there’s likewise a major wind eventually. This book is a particularly special idea and I think that when the perusers have their full heart to know the wind behind the story, it makes you extremely upset with a fervour for the following part.
The characters appeared to be so straightforward when you begin perusing yet they have such a lot of profundity in them once the story advances. I was unable to accept the completion of the story was a cliffhanger. Can hardly hold back from perusing the following part and have so many of my inquiries addressed. The book digs into the intricacies of current connections, including love, awfulness, trust, and double-crossing. Go for this book if you are searching for an exhilarating sentiment, your thirst will be extinguished!
WHAT. A. RIDE. 😱 From the very first page, The Heartbreak Club had me completely hooked. And let me just say—this is not your typical heartbreak tale. It’s intense, mysterious, and honestly, kind of terrifying in the best way. This was my second read by Novoneel Chakraborty, and once again—he didn’t disappoint!
The plot follows Kisha Sen, who transfers from London to Noida under a student exchange program at Fairmont High. But beneath her calm, poised exterior, she’s burning with a personal mission—to uncover the truth about her sister Anara’s strange disappearance. And trust me, once you step into this journey with her… there’s no coming back.
The Heartbreak Club itself? Creepy as hell. No one knows how it functions, who’s behind it, or what it actually does—but one thing’s clear: once you’re in, there’s no easy escape. The layers of suspense, mystery, and psychological tension are woven so tightly, I kept flipping pages late into the night.
Every chapter ends on a cliffhanger. And I mean every one. You just can’t stop reading. There’s a deep, dark undertone to the entire story that plays with your mind—like you’re being pulled into a world of obsession, secrets, and silent screams.
And the romance angle? Subtle, yet emotionally intense—like a flicker of warmth in the middle of utter chaos. It makes you question whether love can even survive in a place like this. The characters are emotionally layered and so well-written, especially Kisha, who balances strength and vulnerability so beautifully.
What really got me was the pacing— It starts fast, slows down just enough to make you anxious, and then suddenly—BAM—you’re hit with twists and reveals that leave you going, “Wait… what just happened??” 🤯
Now, let’s talk about the only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars… THIS. IS. JUST. PART ONE. Novoneel, how could you leave us hanging like that?! The ending gave zero closure and infinite questions. I NEED answers. I NEED Part Two. And I need it yesterday.
The book has received a lot of love online too—many readers are calling it an edgy page-turner with deep character development. It’s even been featured by the Kalinga Literary Festival and praised for its cinematic storytelling. Honestly, it deserves the hype.
If you love dark psychological thrillers with a desi twist, layered characters, and a storyline that never lets you breathe easy—add this to your TBR right now.
Until then, I’ll just be rereading my highlights and counting the days till the sequel drops.
Firstly I wqould like to say that The Heartbreak Club is a Breathtaking, Brilliant, Edgy and definitely a PAGE TURNER.
The Book itself took High School thriller to a different level. As always, He raises his own bar and then outperforms it consistently. He never disappoints with any of his books. Not even with this new Sub genre of Thriller. Such real and authentic character crafting of each character..may it be Kisha or Tavish or Ahaan or even Ranya...

It left me wanting more.Eagerly waiting for the second part to come and highly recommend you to read it if you like dark romantic thriller which will leave you curious!.
⭐️⭐️⭐️✬ | 3.5/5 Stars The Heartbreak Club was a good read overall. Novoneel Chakraborty’s books usually keep me completely hooked, but this one didn’t spark the same level of curiosity for me as some of his other works. That said, it was still engaging enough to keep me turning the pages. The story had its moments, and the writing style made it an easy read. Even though it didn’t fully grip me the way I expected, it did manage to pull me in enough that I’ve already started the second book in the series. Hoping that one delivers even more intrigue and excitement. Overall, a decent 3.5-star read for me. 📚
When randomly strolling through Amazon for my known books, I found this book and felt like trying it out. I should say it did not disappoint at all. Though the book is part of a Duo-logy, I would have preferred it in a single book. You can easily finish this book in a single day :) The author has neatly put together all the characters and story that is bound to a secret club from the school. The story revolves around the sister, Kisha Sen who wants to know about her missing sister Anara Sen. Her investigation unfolds the secret club and its connection with her missing sister. There is also slight romance amidst the suspense. The story halts at the unrevealing of few members from the The Heartbreak Club. Rest continues in the next book.
I am not sure whether it’s just for me or for everyone who read this, but it’s no good at all. I have read almost all of his books, but this one is severely boring and sluggish.
Also, they didn’t finish the story; stopped it midway with a lead for next book.
It is a simple high school teen drama that happens in an international high school in Noida with middling twists.
It is a part one of the series. As always a page turner thriller. Interesting storyline something different from usual high school fiction. Thought will get to the end finally but there’s more. So now will be eagerly waiting for the second part pf book to come out. Hope it comes out soon. Too much suspense.
Genius... I loved this book. OMG... You'll definitely have a confused and curious face while reading throughout the book. The characters, the plot, the twists...everything is good. There's a second part to it and I'm eagerly waiting for it. It's a small book but with a good and thrilling story. Novoneel is the best.
How far will you go to find the truth about what happened to your sibling, to the extent of breaking a innocent person heart isn't that cruel, well it that's what I had to do then i break as many as i had to.
This was the first book of two pari series i read them both.
it’s so. so bad. the author has described eating as “spooned food into her mouth” THREE times in 65 pages. I genuinely thought a 13 yo had posted this on wattpad until I found out this is a MIDDLE AGED MAN writing this crap. it’s giving I’m 14 and this is deep but even the Reddit writers have talent.
I would have finished it but I lost my copy of the book lol
I tried picking up a random book by an Indian author—partly out of curiosity, to see if there’s really substance out there or if half the readership simply chooses to ignore the majority of Indian authors. Sadly, this book did not instill even a single emotion in me throughout its arc. Instead, it only made me realize how immature writing can cost you your readers.
I am sorry, but the author really needs to work on his writing style. At times it even felt cliché and oddly thoughtless—for example, when he wrote “all girls of every shape and size.” Lines like that came across as shallow and weirdly phrased rather than meaningful or impactful.
The world-building is shallow, the narrative lacks depth, and the writing style reads more like a child’s attempt than a mature author’s craft. I truly wanted to enjoy this, but halfway through, it has been more disappointing than engaging.
