UNTOUCHED MAGIC is the third and final novel in the Agents of Magic Urban Fantasy series, a spin-off of the Seasons of Magic universe. Get ready to unravel a new supernatural mystery with some old friends. The Agents of Magic series is best enjoyed in order. You can start Kayla's journey in book 1, Unseen Magic.
Sarah is a USA Today Bestselling author as well as a licensed attorney and works for a state agency in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. When not working on her next novel or reading the latest installment of one of the many series she follows, she is busy watching TV and running a TV recap blog with her friend. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son.
I didn’t realize that this was the last book in the series until the very end, and now I’m extremely sad. Kayla is such a great character, and I love this universe in this series so much. Oddly enough, I kept hoping that Desmond and Ezri would just come back to life. Ah, well, anyway, this last book in the series was a great adventure. I love detective-type stories with magic or paranormal intertwined, and this certainly fits the bill. Explosions, magic stealing, and settling relationships are all on tap in this book, and again, I hate to see it go. I’ll just to wait and see what this talented author has in store for us readers next. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This is book three of the Agents of Magic series and Agent Kayla is about to see off her friend and fellow FBI agent, Perri, who is hoping to be transferred to Boston, from her current position in Washington, DC. For her last day in Boston, now her case is finished, Kayla is showing her the sights, when she suddenly senses a huge build-up of magic with an evil intent! Next minute, an explosion goes off and she is knocked to the ground. When she gets up, she sees someone in the upstairs window and ignores her own safety, to try and reach them. She doesn’t quite make it as far as she wanted, before her magic glitches and she ends up rescued by a fireman and ends up in JT’s care, a magical healer and paramedic! With her magic on the blink, she wonders whether she is really worth her position as an FBI Agent, believing only her magic got her into the position! Luckily, the mundane agents and her boss, manage to dissuade her of that. Jacquie, Molly and young agent and possible love interest Duncan, are all mundane, but know about magic and she is the magical liaison in their team. Digging into the explosion she and Perri practically walked straight into, soon leads to a previous explosion that happened in a restaurant. Each had the same M.O., with some sort of magical bomb being used and a magical person possibly being targeted. Kayla also has her previous relationship with Kevin to resolve, who was imprisoned after being waylaid into bad decisions, but upon his release he left, wanting to explore his options and the world.
Duncan would like to see where he and Kayla could go in a relationship, but it is unfair to him to allow anything to happen whilst she still has her previous relationship unresolved. As they start to dig into the two different explosions, the team need to figure out who is behind them and why they are doing it. What was the purpose of the build-up of magic and the explosion, is unclear at the moment. When her friend, the Saviour and Desmond were sacrificed and Authority members and whole bloodlines had their magic stolen, thoughts of something similar begin to come together in Kayla’s thoughts. When the team meet up in Molly’s boyfriend Jonathan’s local magical nightclub, a third explosion is set off and things change drastically for Kayla, after she is hit by a huge blast of the explosion. Molly is also affected and in a way no one could have ever guessed. Kayla now has to go about her investigation a little differently than normal and it affects her confidence in her role a bit. Evidence soon leads the team towards one person as the culprit, but that is just a little bit too easy and it soon becomes a more tragic reason behind the explosions and one person’s wish to regain what they lost! A dangerous case for the team and especially for Kayla, as issues from the past come back to haunt them all and are a reminder of those they lost. It seems that might be all that was going to happen, but their only suspect is keeping quiet and is too worried to say anything about their partner in crime and what they have planned! Kayla needs to work it out and get it stopped before she loses a lot more of those she loves and her magic, in this explosive finale. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
“Untouched Magic” is the third and final instalment in Sara Biglow’s “Agents of Magic” UF series, which is set in the same world as her previous “Seasons of Magic” (SoM) and depicts the events occurred after Enzi’s end (SoM MC), following Kayla (Enzi protegee) through her journey as she follows into Enzi’s footprints to become an FBI agent. After being called to Boston to work along Jacqui deWitt and Molly Cartwright, Kayla deals with a series of magical explosions. After responding to the third explosion Kayla loses her powers and has to rely in her training to resolve the case.
This book brings Kayla’s story to a very satisfying conclusion, with an interesting plot, that mixing elements of UF and police procedural into a fast-paced tale, which keeps the reader invested into the plot from cover to cover. Kayla is a wonderful character, who finally comes into her own both in the FBI and as witch. Enzi’s sacrifice will forever be part of this verse, but Kayla has finally come to terms with it and can found her own path.
Sarah Biglow’s “Agents of Magic” is a captivating urban fantasy series that blends elements of fantasy with police procedural into a fast-paced and thrilling plot, with unexpected twists, a realistic and enjoyable setting, a most relatable MC, good written secondary characters, and a credible druidic backstory A worthly sequel to her fantastic “Seasons of Magic” highly satisfying UF series, a veritably must read for all fantasy and/or police work fans out there, that expect not only a page-turner and enjoyable reading, but some clever background stories to go with it. And while it is not strictly necessary to be acquainted with the previous “Seasons of Magic” series, as Biglow does a fantastic job of getting any new readers up-to-speed without slowing the pace, I would recommend reading “Seasons of Magic” nevertheless, just because it’s a fantastic series 😉 and also adds background information on the verse.
She might need a day off, but this is not going to be that day. And by the time this case is cover, one day to recover will probably not be enough.
This is book three of the series and its conclusion. It actually does okay as a standalone, but you will get a much better experience if you start from the beginning.
This is an urban fantasy series. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting. The characters are also solid and well done with diverse personalities that bring things to life. Our heroine is tough and smart, which is just the way I like them. The plot moves along at a good clip and includes a nice mix of action and intrigue. Overall, this was a great series and I look forward to seeing what our author creates next.
Highly recommended.

Kayla is spending the day with Perri when she feels something off. She near a by when a building explodes. She realizes that it is magic based and hears of another incident that happened. Kayla is determined to find out what is going on while trying to deal with her feelings for Kevin and also Duncan. Things get serious for Kayla and the others as time is running out for them before things get worse.

In the final book of this series, Kayla is coming to terms with her career and her magic. Inspired to dig deeper into several magical explosions she follows the leads and has to fall back ultimately on her own intuition when her magic becomes unavailable. Will she discover the solution to her satisfaction? Will she finally feel like a hero? Would Enzi have been proud of her?
Kayla is back for her last mystery and it was a dozy. Glued from the beginning to see what trouble she would face this time and watch her discover the clues and solve the mystery. Lots of action, surprises and fun to read. Enjoyed it and trying to guess what was going on as the clues are uncovered.
I have really enjoyed this series and am sad to see Kayla’s adventures come to an end. Our FBI / witch is settling into her role when magical bombs start exploding. Mystery, suspense, action packed and full of twists and turns and surprises that will have you on the edge of your seat. A fantastic urban fantasy series.
Sarah Biglow never fails to entertain and this latest addition to Agents of Magic is no exception. The character work and story line were well written and kept me reading in one sitting.
