UNSPOKEN MAGIC is the second novel in the Agents of Magic Urban Fantasy series, a spin-off of the Seasons of Magic universe. Get ready to unravel a new supernatural mystery with some old friends. The Agents of Magic series is best enjoyed in order. You can start Kayla's journey in book 1, Unseen Magic.
Sarah is a USA Today Bestselling author as well as a licensed attorney and works for a state agency in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. When not working on her next novel or reading the latest installment of one of the many series she follows, she is busy watching TV and running a TV recap blog with her friend. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son.
This is book two of the Agents of Magic series and Agent Kayla Rogers of the FBI and her non-magical human partner Duncan, are wondering if their next case might be magical. It is some time since she was put on a different path by those who found and loved her, but also since she lost her love who wanted to discover himself now without magic and two others, Ezri (the Saviour) and Desmond who sacrificed themselves, so that others could live when they took down a dangerous cult. Her magic is now more easily accessible and more powerful than ever before, but she isn’t the Saviour and doesn’t have endless magic! When Agent Jacquie DeWitt calls everyone together after receiving a call from her niece Neveah, about a vision she has just had of her dad dying in a car accident, and a woman involved in it, who might be about to die. The only thing is, her father Jamal died five years before in what was thought to be a simple accident after a fit or collapse at the wheel of his car. The vision shows that someone else managed to control his actions and forced him into the path of oncoming cars. Jamal’s wife Denise is unable to cope with matters, after suffering from addiction after her husband’s death and Jacquie has taken over the care of her brother’s children, Nevaeh and Troy. She wants to know why her niece is having a vision of someone that died years ago, when her visions should only e of the future! The team soon find out that Jamal was hiding something from his family and was actually been trying to help someone off the streets, but got arrested for solicitation, but never charged, It seems another branch of the FBI were working on a human trafficking ring, where they suspected magic was involved. Jacquie though only her small unit knew about magic, with her, Molly, Duncan and Kayla, but it seems the secret has been shared with others when needed. The leading agent for this case isn’t keen to read Kayla’s unit into the case, even with Jacquie’s close family links, until they show her evidence they have obtained themselves. The main suspects are Madison Fletcher and Nathaniel Dermott, but what magical powers they may have are unknown, just that one of them must be very powerful to have killed Jamal in this way. The original team are still trying to gather more evidence against the pair and untold numbers of young woman have already disappeared into their clutches, to never be seen again. Kayla manages to revisit the vision Nevaeh had and shows her image to one of their contacts at the Authority whose magic works with tech and computers. They manage to get a name for the woman, but now have an even shorter deadline as more details come through to Nevaeh in another vision. Yet Kayla continues to push her magic use, wanting to be able to actually save someone they know will die otherwise, and placing all the burden on herself to do so. She finds herself in danger and facing off against one of the perpetrators at the end and there is a weird sense of a voice from the grave telling her to fight and that she can overcome this person’s overpowering magical hold on her. She finds herself meeting up with an old friend she went to the FBI Academy with and who might just make this place their home and stick around for more friendship. There is talk of her and Duncan’s relationship and where it might go, but Kayla is still suffering from the break up with Kevin and losing her heart to him, only for him to leave to discover his new self without her! She believes she has a lot of bad things to make up for from her past and to live up to what Ezri and Desmond saw in her and to their high standards, as well as Jacquie’s. It’s great to see Kayla now active as an agent in her own stead and with a non-magical partner who she could be in love with, if she just allowed it. I look forward to seeing what case they may have to solve next and if there might be some romance between them next. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
“Unspoken Magic” is the second instalment in Sara Biglow’s “Agents of Magic” UF series, which is set in the same world as her previous “Seasons of Magic” (SoM) and centers on Kayla Rogers, former Enzi’s (SoM) protegee.
This is a fast-paced tale that mixes elements of UF and police procedural, that keeps the reader invested into the plot from cover to cover. Kayla is a wonderful character, who is fighting the aftermath of Enzi’s sacrifice, even after settling into her new job as FBI Agent. As new information about the circumstances surrounding the death of the brother of Jacqui DeWitt’s (Enzi former partner and Kayla’s co-worker), Kayla has is on a tight deadline to avoid a new/old evil from claiming a new victim.
Sarah Biglow’s “Agents of Magic” is a captivating urban fantasy series that blends elements of fantasy with police procedural into a fast-paced and thrilling plot, with unexpected twists, a realistic and enjoyable setting, a most relatable MC, good written secondary characters, and a credible druidic backstory A worthly sequel to her fantastic “Seasons of Magic” highly satisfying UF series, a veritably must read for all fantasy and/or police work fans out there, that expect not only a page-turner and enjoyable reading, but some clever background stories to go with it. And while it is not strictly necessary to be acquainted with the previous “Seasons of Magic” series, as Biglow does a fantastic job of getting any new readers up-to-speed without slowing the pace, I would recommend reading “Seasons of Magic” nevertheless, just because it’s a fantastic series 😉 and also adds background information on the verse.
Our heroine is still adjusting to her new career when they discover a group trafficking in paranormals. This is more than she can handle on her own, but trust is still an issue for her as well. But she better figure it out quickly as time is running out.
This is book two of this series, but it does pretty well as a standalone. All the essentials are covered early on, but it will take a little effort for newcomers to figure out the jargon of this world. Not a big issue, but something to be aware of.
This is an urban fantasy series. The story is well written and easy to read once you catch on to the aforementioned jargon. The setting is well developed and deep, with new elements introduced in each book, making it fun to explore. The characters are also solid and well done. Our heroine is tough and smart, which is just the way I like them. The plot moves along at a good clip and includes a nice mix of action and intrigue. Overall, this was a great story and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Kayla finds out her co-worker's family member had a vision, but the event happened years ago. They are trying to figure out why she had it now and why. As they start digging into everything, it is much more dangerous than they originally anticipated. Kayla will also have to figure out some of her personal issues as well and finds out something that throws her off her game during the investigation.
Another terrific read in this series. I could not stop reading this book when I started. The twist and turns in the story just keep you hooked. Kayla's slowly growing to the woman she has become; you know she still has so much on her journey.

This is the second instalment of Sarah Biglow’s Agents of Magic series which mixes Urban fantasy and police procedure.
I found myself drawn into the story and kept reading, the story was fast paced and the urban fantasy world is realistic and intriguing, with a few twists. I found the book well paced, even when bringing readers up to date it did not detract from the story.
The secondary characters are well written and fleshed out. As it is book 2 in the series i would recommend reading Seasons of Magic the first book, but it can be read as a stand alone.
All in all i very much enjoyed it and look forward to the next book.

I forgot how much I enjoyed the first book when I started this second book in the series. Kayla is such an interesting character, and I really enjoyed her interactions with the other characters who are also interesting. Not only are the characters fun and interesting, but the book is also very well written with an engaging plot and fast-paced action. I am looking forward to the next book, but I’m heartbroken that that that is the last book in this series; I’m encouraged though that we’ll see a couple of characters again. If you like a fast, well-written, urban fantasy mystery, give this series a try. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I loved book one and was so looking forward to reading book two and I could not wait to dive in and it did not let me down. Fast paced and full of action, adventure and so much more as we follow Kayla our newbie FBI agent. An exciting and captivating read that draws you into this urban fantasy world filled with mystery and suspense. Our characters are likeable and intriguing and the storyline magical and gripping as they race to solve this supernatural vision in time to save a life. A fab addition to this series.
Kayla and her teammates are back for another investigation that was full of surprises, danger, action, and craziness. It was a wild ride as visions point them in the direction of a new bad guy to defeat. I loved it and found it entertaining and fun to read as Kayla and the others do what they do best and fight the bad guys. Lots of scary and fun scenes to enjoy.
this was a strong sequel in the Agents of Magic series, it had what I was expecting from the first book. The plot worked so well together and it does a great job from being a fantasy novel. I loved the characters and getting back to them. I can't wait to read more in this series and from Sarah Biglow.
