The Dragon In The Closet is a magical, whimsical, funny, captivating, adventurous, imaginative, unique, expressive, and endearing story! This book is a childrens/young adult comic book. I don't read comic books or graphic novels often, but this one had me completely engaged! It was full of twists, turns, and cliff hangers. I love that it mashes up various fairytales. Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Bean Stock, dragons, witches, fairy godmothers, and so much more is referenced in this book. You never know what will happen next!

Orin Bean longs to be normal but bad luck seems to follow him. Thankfully, his Nana is always there to save him. One day, he finds out he is cursed, Nana is a witch, and the orcal dragon in Nana's closet is the only thing keeping him safe. What happens next is even more mind-blowing.

captivating story

This comic book is captivating. Lots of twists and turns. Sometimes it can feel a bit disjointed. But overall I found myself easily turning the page. Love the design of the creatures.

It was sometimes hard to follow the story as the text and word bubbles were not placed intuitively to guide my eye/reading flow.

The facial expressions were often great and really fit the story but sometimes poorly drawn / weird.

Overall it is a nice story and worth reading :)

In the realm of children’s literature, it is a rare delight to stumble upon a story that not only captivates the imagination but also whirls you through a whirlwind of adventure and magic. The Dragon in The Closet is precisely such a book, perfectly tailored for young readers aged 7-9.

The artwork in The Dragon in The Closet deserves special mention. The panels are beautifully crafted, with an enchanting blend of dark greens and blues that perfectly capture the mystical and suspenseful atmosphere of the story. Each page of the comic is a visual treat, enhancing the narrative and bringing the magical world to life in a way that is both engaging and visually stimulating.

The story is fast-paced and filled with suspense, making it a page-turner that’s hard to put down. The author and creator masterfully intertwines themes of bravery, friendship, and the battle between good and evil, all while maintaining a light-heartedness suitable for its intended audience.

So magical and full of adventure! I love that the author recaps what happened in the previous book before continuing the story especially since this is part of a series. The end of the book also includes a summary of each previous installment, giving readers a solid sense of the overall plot. The comic format fits perfectly with the magical world of curses, dragons, monsters, and thrilling adventures. I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

Enjoyable read laid out like a comic book

Firstly thank you to the author for the special promo to enable us to read this story for free. The story was enjoyable and it was a good idea to give a recap of the story so far. Not having seen the previous books I would have been totally at a loss for what was happening. Great illustrations of the dragon.

A magical and captivating continuation of Orin's journey! The story is full of twists and exciting creatures. Some parts feel a bit disjointed, but it's easy to get lost in the adventure. The illustrations are beautiful, though some facial expressions were a bit odd. Overall, a great read!
