"His touch ignited fires along every nerve ending; every place where our skin met sizzled with an intensity that threatened to consume us whole."
I work at a PR firm in bustling New York City, where despite being great at my job, I’m a total pushover. When I'm assigned as personal assistant to an Orc Prince visiting from Marshvale, I finally see a chance to prove myself. If I play my cards right, this could be my path to the big promotion I know I deserve!
Unfortunately, Baelgar is as arrogant as he is intimidating. I already had a bad impression of his kind so this is going to be the longest week of my life. Can I survive a week of constant bickering and manage to turn this beast into something a bit more civilized? Or maybe I’m doomed to forever fetch my bosses coffee.
Even more worrying than that is the way he keeps staring at me, and the effect that animalistic look in his eyes is making me feel.
No no no! I need to focus on the job. There’s absolutely no way I would fall for one of them.
This was quick and cute. I found that the orc prince - despite how often the main character talks about him being an orc - came off as a flirty human guy reskinned as an orc. It felt like you could have taken the race and replaced it with anything else, and it wouldn't really have mattered. They talk about his culture, but there's no real reflection of it in his personality. Regardless, this was a fun, flirty little book, and I appreciate it for that.
I like that there is a portal between New York City and another realm populated by all kinds of beings. Humans want to establish trade between worlds and decide to host an Orc prince. Baelgar is arrogant at first but calms down and become really cute.
