Colby (H), a grumpy meteorologist who is fed up with the mundane sunny La-La Land weather, impulsively decides to chase a historic storm, pitting himself against his old rival, Oz. Petra (h) stops by her ex's farmhouse to pack up her things while he's not there and when she realizes a storm is approaching, she takes refuge in his bathtub with wine, electric candles, Bill Withers playing, and her B.O.B. to help her ride the storm out. Things take an unexpected turn when Colby seeks refuge in a farmhouse and walks in on Petra just as the storm unleashes and he'll do what he has to to protect the woman he wants to make his. Hot and steamy tempestuous romantic quickie with humor, a side of danger, and a community coming together.

the instalove was insta but…
The storm stuff was not quite there. The concept felt a little hmm of how their meetcute went considering the situation. Living in prime tornado alley, the way the storm portion is wrote about from the perspective of a supposedly knowledgeable weather man was lacking.
It gives person “who doesn’t live in tornado alley writing about storm chasing.” I’m not likely to pick up any more in this setting based on that.

Colby is bored and no longer satisfied in his high profile job as a meteorologist. He knows he is missing something, he just doesn’t know what it is. That leads him to accept a dangerous challenge from his nemesis. Petra is in the final steps of breaking up with her crappy ex. The storm isn’t the real excitement in this AWESOME story, the first meeting of Colby and Petra is the main event.
This steamy, lovely instalove with sprinkles of delicious humor is a delightful distraction and escape from the mundane. In less than an hour, you can unwind and relax with a pleasurable story that will leave you satisfied, but still craving more.
This is a GREAT standalone book with no cliffhanger, and a delightful HEA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book, and the rest of the steamy Instalove series.
For anyone who dissected this AWESOME, fun, steamy, exciting instalove romance based on peripheral supporting events, I would like to remind everyone that this is an incredible work of PURE FICTION. I was a nurse for 47 years, and admit I have fallen into the trap of pointing out that an author didn’t write parts of a story using medically correct terminology, testing , or care. I just went back down that rabbit hole a few days ago, it is a constant struggle for me.
What I need to frequently remind myself, and other wonderful book friends is that when we read a FICTIONAL story, especially a quick read instalove romance, we need to let everything other than the couple become soft background noise. I don’t need to point out in a review that someone’s military pension isn’t right, or a guy was turned incorrectly before his injuries were properly assessed, or that weather patterns or tornadoes aren’t portrayed the way an experienced meteorologist would do so.
We all have our strengths, education, and life experience. My experiences would be useful if I was collaborating on a high budget movie, or TV series, or even a non-fiction novel as a technical advisor. Can you imagine how expensive a quick read instalove romance book would be if every author had to thoroughly research every single aspect of their books? Those book would cost more than a dozen eggs!
I need to keep my thoughts on the supporting information to myself and just immerse myself in a super hot, incredibly beautiful, transformative LOVE STORY. This book, in fact the entire “Love in a Storm” series is WONDERFUL, and exactly what I look for in my short, instalove romance stories, AMAZING LOVE CONNECTIONS.

The Grumpy meteorologist finds his sunshine in a storm
The Grumpy Storm Chaser is the first book in the Love in a Storm series. This is the first book I have read by this author so I was not sure what to expect, as you never know if you will click with a new-to-you author or not. This story started with a premise that completely made me laugh, as it was written very funnily. The story finds Petra packing up the last of her things from her now ex's house, which she has come to realize she loved more than him. Colby is a meteorologist in Los Angeles, where the weather never changes. He has become dissatisfied and frustrated, with the result being becoming very grumpy, never smiling and now being known around the country as the grumpy meteorologist. When one of his old classmates challenges him he takes it and soon finds himself doing his job a little too well. He is driving barely ahead of a huge tornado and finally sees an old farmhouse ahead where his hopes he can find a safe place, because the storm is coming right at it. What he finds when he makes his way to the bathroom shocks him so much that he loses all thoughts of the tornado, safety and what he needs to do next. Petra may have found safety in the tub but she was planning on a whole different way to ride out the storm. That is until the door burst open and a tall, handsome stranger was standing there staring at her. Let the fun begin......
I quite enjoyed this delightful, light, funny, OTT sexy and passionate, insta-lust/love romance. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

The last thing Colby expected when he embarked on his storm chasing adventure was to end up in a complicated situation that sent his list filled emotions into overdrive. Petra was busy pleasuring herself when she opened her eyes to see Colby staring at her with lust filled eyes, whilst the storm was raging outside the windows. The sparks between Colby and Petra was intense from the moment they survived the storm and it led to them satiating their carnal desires to calm themselves down.
However, Petra soon goes into panic mode when she discovers her family and friends were also affected by the storm, which led to them going over there and discovering Colby’s sister and his nemesis were already there. Working together to clean up and mess brought all of them together and made Colby realise how fate brought him into Petra’s life, so they could have the happiness they deserved. I enjoyed reading this short and steamy instalove romance story, with engaging characters who went through a little bit of angst to get a happily ever after.

Lots of Laughs From These Two!
I absolutely loved this one. Love these characters and the storyline so much. Petra gathered the rest of her belongings in the farmhouse she shared with her ex. Luckily he was out of town and she was there. Colby, Rise and Shine LA Weatherman heard from an ex friend Oz that there was tornadoes headed along the Mississippi River. He and Oz made a bet on who could get the best coverage. He asked to cover it and his bosses said no and he was going regardless. They said he could take a few days off but that was it. He packed and left. Flew to North Carolina and rented a truck. While driving he saw that he was actually in front of a tornado and knew that he couldn’t outrun it. He was traveling towards a town called Mercury Ridge which was some miles away driving as fast as he could and he saw a gravel road and turned down it. He drove on the gravel for a bit and thought it lead to no where when he spotted a farmhouse then realized that he was actually driving down someone’s long driveway. The tornado was about to land when he pulled up to the house and… 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

The Grumpy Storm Chaser is Book 1 of Love in a Storm. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, curvy girl gets her hunk romance. Colby is a hunky, grumpy meteorologist in LA. He has become grumpy, feeling that he is not really doing what he set out to do since the California weather is always perfect with nothing to report and he is a storm chaser and weather guru at heart. When his nemesis and former best friend, Oz, tells him about a big storm coming, he bets him to see who can get the best footage while chasing the storm. He ends up in North Carolina near the small town of Mercury Ridge. Petra is a sweet and curvy hair salon owner who is in the path of the storm in North Carolina. When Colby ends up caught in the storm, he ends up sheltering in the bathroom with her, lol, in what has to be the craziest meet cute ever. These two fall in love instantly. The chemistry is hot, and the ending was happy. This was a fun and spicy story.

We are jumping into a new series from Pippa.
We are met with Colby, a tv weatherman who never thought he'd be stuck behind a screen and not doing what he loves. He isn't known for being a grump because he made it up. It felt right that after being riled up over his arch-nemsis he agree's to chase a storm of a lifetime!!!
Petra thought she was finally making the clean break she needed from her ex. She just needed to get the rest of her things. She didn't expect to find the most handsome man in her bathroom at well.......the most interesting of times.
They came together like the storm around them, and tossed up everything they thought they knew. It was moulton, fast, and ohh so satisfying. I bet you'll never think of a skylight the same way again. Get your storm chips (google it..it's a thing here in East Coast Canada!) and binge through this new book!

Colby is a celebrity grump who barges in on Petra in the middle of um comforting herself, and saves her life from a tornado as it rips through the house they're in. Sounds kinda OTT but it is a very interesting and funny meet cute and works out well.
This author is new to me but after reading this book I immediately dived into several other books of hers and loved those too! They are short, sweet, sexy and often touching stories, with just the right amount of depth that the characters have amazing chemistry together and are so likeable they will tug at your heartstrings, leaving you feeling sorry for them, and cheering for them at the end. I am a new fan!.

Very fast paced....the story, the storm AND the 2 main characters. But I did enjoy the grumpy weatherman turn happy and find his HEA.
its interesting because you don't normally have storm chaser romance. that's what caught me. but the FMC grabbing a bottle of wine and her phone and her BOB and running to the bathtub....bc isn't that the safest place to be???? but it doesn't dawn on her to keep track of the storm bc she might be in danger since her friend LITERALLY WARNED her of how bad it was going to be a few minutes before????? heck no we are living our best life in our ex's house in a bathtub with a vibrator and wine, tornado be dammed!!! of course a stranger comes in looking for shelter...and its true instalove.

A super quick read (took me about 30 minutes) about a grumpy weather man who decides to chase a storm that quickly has him seeking shelter. What he finds is the woman of his dreams mid pleasure in the bathtub. It's a funny scene, but also fraught with danger as the tornado is headed straight for them. His quick thinking saves them both. It's love at first sight for them both and from that moment on they are a cutesy lovey-dovey couple. Loved Cressida and her no-nonsense manner about her in this book. I can't wait to go and read her story next.

Colby is a grumpy meteorologist who wants to chase a storm and his network says no. Petra is a hairstylist who is in the middle of removing her belongings from her ex’s house. A huge tornado hits and Colby goes into the house for shelter, this is where he meets Petra (who is naked in the tub) he jumps into the tub and the whole house falls apart around them. They fall in love superrr quickly! Like in that same moment which is wild. The tornado came with some love dust because she was telling her family they were dating that same day while checking in on them after the tornado. We do get a year after epilogue so that’s nice.

Colby needs excitement and chasing a tornado is where its at. Petra is getting over a breakup and packing when the storm hits. She takes coverage but gets so much more than she bargained for. A complete stranger seeking shelter bombarded her life. Will they survive the storm? Will they die happy?

This is a very quick read about an hour and I loved it. Perfect read for when you’ve had a hard day and need a break. Colby and Petra get caught in a tornado and it’s instalove if they can survive the storm. It’s fast, hot and steamy, instalove with a great happy ever after. Packs a great storyline for such a short read. I loved it.

This was Colby and Petra’s story. As the meteorologist for a nationwide TV show, I'm at the top of my career. There's just one problem: I'm bored to death. If I have to give one more weather report in front of a green screen, I'll go insane. A massive storm is brewing, and this time, I'm not riding it out... I'm chasing it down. Come on, rain. Bring on the thunder and lightning. Send the whirlwind. An entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving my review.

Where do I even begin with this novella? The FMC is in the middle of a hailstorm, no power, and knows fully well there is a chance of tornadoes and she’s sitting in a tub drinking wine and getting herself off? Seriously?
Then the MMC ends up in the house where the FMC is in the middle of her self-pleasure (all while a tornado is coming directly for them) and all he can think about is how sexy the sight before him is. Again, seriously?
