The youngest omega in her family pack, she is used to being neglected, malnourished, and abused. When her parents tell her she's being sold to Pack Maddox—a rogue, outcast pack renowned for their brutality—she expects it will be more of the same.
What she does not expect is to receive their kindness.
Her five new alphas at Pack Maddox accept her in ways she never dreamed possible. They want to cherish her. Protect her.
But how long can she hide the reality of her broken omega body? And what chaos will her unruly alphas unleash when her abusers come back for more?
*** ROGUE is the first in a three-part omegaverse romance. Includes 18+ steamy content and omegaverse themes (scenting, nesting, heats, bonding, etc.). Trigger warnings for family trauma, abuse, and sexual harrassment.
So... I'm confused by something. This is an omegaverse and I do love them. But never in all the time I have read any books has a female ever chirped. I'm sorry I really don't understand what kind of sound the author was going for but that didn't work. Unless she was a bird I don't think it was the right word to use. I will read book 2 because the story was decent but I also wanted to point out that I didn't see anywhere before I started where it told us (the readers) the dynamics of the Pack. It has FF which I don't read (just a personal choice) so I would have liked to have seen it mentioned somewhere just as a heads up. But I did like the story besides all that and will read book 2 to find out how it ends
You know those books where the alpha is hesitant because they once dated an omega that pitted the pack against each other from the inside? An omega that pushed them to do things they didn't want to do? One that used her designation to manipulate the alphas in the pack? One that lied about things and did things behind their back that caused problems?
Well.. the fmc is that omega. She is absolutely horrible to the alphas. Using her omega charms to get them to do what they want to do.
First of all.. the other reviews aren't lying about the chirping. If you are going to write an omegaverse with your own spin that is fine... but whining is the norm and the whole chirp thing is super weird for someone that is familiar with omegaverse.
What really pushed me over the limit was when she encouraged two of the alphas to be s3xual with each other to get over their differences even though one of them was a female that didn't have an interest in men.
Followed by her using her illness and faking a flare up to hide a secret from the alphas and using their compassion against them to keep things from them that could put them all at risk.
Probably one of, if not THE worst fmc I have ever read about.
Which sucks because I REALLY liked the plot.
But honestly even the alphas sucked for falling for it all.
Lastly, the whole "runt" aspect is not explained well. The way the alphas talk about it makes it sound like her family made her a runt by how they treated her. But the way the fmc talks about it makes it sound like she was born as a runt.. and then later on the alphas talk about it like that too. So which is it?

This was going so well i almost thought i had it all, and it all crumbled in my hands
So when it comes to my romance books I'm very, very selfish in rh books like mf i don't want extra pairings in them just personal preference and i found this book in reddit saying it had lesbian alpha and no mm. Imagine my surprise when suddenly out of the blue lesbian and another one of the mmcs kiss.
So i dnfed the series in middle of book 2 IDK if it goes further than that, maybe some or*l.
No mm thus far either but IDK
Like I said personal preferences, no hate to anyone who likes it.
I haven’t put this book down. I was hooked on page 1. Their story is powerful, hurt, damaged people healing. Perhaps at least starting to heal. Powerful story. I am loving it. That said, there are editing issues that make me lose my cadence. Not enough to change the way I rated it, but they are present. A story of this caliber should be error free. It deserves it. And steamy! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
ROGUE isn't the best Omegaverse I've read but also not the worst. I read this a few weeks ago and can't really remember much except the author was big on what each guy smelled like, and the heroine chirped a lot. I might continue the series later if the mood strikes.
291 pages (on my phone) and it's 73 chapters! It's like someone told the author they had X amount of words to be considered a chapter and they STUCK with it. It'll stop the chapter on the end of a sentence and pick up with the same POV right where the next sentence in the paragraph would be. It's *jarring* to say the least and messes with the flow. And, like others, I noticed missing words that took me out of the story trying to figure out what was being said. It needs a bit more editing to be more polished.
I was interested in the female alpha and the WLW aspect but it kinda feels like it's just added for no reason. Bailey could be replaced with a male, or taken out entirely, and it wouldn't change anything.
Eve is a virgin for her first heat with 2 out of 5 of her alphas (It's kind of glossed over besides mentioning there's blood and a bit of pain and Eve has her first kiss) and there's no *introduction* to WW relationships. There's just a time skip of an undetermined amount of time and she fingers Bailey and... that's kind of it. There's a little oral but I ended up skimming the sex scenes because I didn't *care*.
Oh yeah, from what I gathered she was with the pack 2-3 months in this book. It's kinda just mentioned in passing in one line. There are things that aren't really explained; like what runts are in their society (I assume it's a bad thing - outside of the abuse aspect of becoming one - based on Bailey's response to the term) and why Eve chirps or what the social structure is or WHY the pack is considered 'brutal' and are outsiders. The Alphas don't really feel like unique characters to me. They don't feel fleshed out except MAYBE Thorn's 'secret' job that gets revealed to the whole pack by the end. I kept having to remind myself who was who because they're all one note.
I might come back to read the other two books later only because I want to know how it ends. But the characters are too bland to keep me interested right now.

This one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The dynamic between the heroine and the pack reminded me of the Feral Souls trilogy which has remained at two books for a few years now, so it gave me little fix of the 'timid female lead with vaguely feral male leads' dynamic. Also in those books a big portion of the conflict within the pack is purposefully antagonistic towards the heroine to a stupid level, but in this one it actually got rid of that problem by having the 'problematic member' (Red) be eager to know Eve, but he keeps putting his foot in his mouth/being too aggressive, which I thought was an upgrade and made the relationship more believable.
But Eve did do the stupid timid female lead thing of being ridiculously self-sacrificing near the end of the book which leads to the (presumed) conflict in the second book. And I get that she was abused and neglected her entire life but it got a little exhausting being in her head all the time with all the self-loathing and mood swings, constantly perceiving every move the pack made as a rejection. Girl I do that enough in my own head, I don't wanna read about someone else doing it.
We also get told a lot that Eve has improved the pack's dynamic so much within like a day of her being with them, but we have no frame of reference since we don't see that pack until Eve is in the picture. It would've been nice to get a little snapshot of them, even just right before Baxter went to pick Eve up, of him having to break up a fight or patch holes in the wall or fix broken furniture. Just something to give justification to the reputation these guys supposedly have as this unhinged pack.
This was compelling, but not for me, and I can tell we're headed to some annoying cliffhanger ending so I'm going to call it here.
The FMC is too naive for me, and she keeps pushing away her alphas who are literally the kindest, sweetest group going, and so much is hinging on something which is literally a few tests away from being answered. Like seriously, just go to your doctor and get tested. At least then you'll be making informed decisions.
I also feel like the plot has taken this long to really start, which is too slow for me.
I do like the characters, and I thought that they were distinct enough from each other. The inclusion of a female alpha is fun, although I would have liked to see a bit more development of her relationship with the FMC.
The lack of betas in this story is a bit world breaking for me - betas typically play such an important role in OV that the lack here seems impossible. Plus one of the "alphas" is so clearly a beta that it just seemed odd to write it this way.
And the runt thing actually made no sense. Like if omegas are valuable to a pack (to be sold off) then why would you deliberately damage one? It felt a bit contrived and made things hard to follow.
Lastly there were a few typos and missing words - not heaps, but enough to throw me out of the story.
The writing was good though - with a stronger plot and a better editor I can see this author putting some very good books out.
Beautiful gaslamp romance with enough depth to satisfy
This is a beautiful start to the trilogy, with a pack that’s all in and an omega who is strong and resilient despite suffering trauma at the hands of her family. Notably though, Eve’s journey is real in terms of her struggle to heal, emotionally, mentally and physically from her family’s abuse. The pack is all in, despite the members themselves being pretty rough around the edges, with a lot to learn about working together with an omega in the mix. The spice is good, and again, progresses in a believable way. I appreciate how sexuality isn’t addressed, in a way being ‘unremarkable’. It is what it is and doesn’t require a label. There's no mm in this book, although there is some ff, but again, it just falls in naturally.
I love books that are multi-pov so no disappointment there.
Looking forward to the next book. There's no cliffhanger as such, but there's tension and the overall arc isn't finished.
The writing is decent enough, but the characters are just off. The FMC comes across as a child which makes the idea of the others sexually attracted to her creepy and weird.
A couple of the alphas are also strange… Red has serious moments of immaturity, more like a male teenager.
Most of the others also have weird vibes about their personalities.
NONE of the sexy vibes read as believable or sensual..
Which makes all the parts that work so well even more surreal and disappointing.
Kept hoping things would improve if I kept reading, or I could ignore the bits that didn’t work, in favour of those that did. Nope!
I pitied the FMC, Eve. She has been considered as a runt by her family, and has been neglected, abused, starved, etc. So Eve is a poor thing, malnourished, pale, and weak. As much as she wasn't a very likeable character. I wasn't able to connect with her. Usually abused character still has this spark of fight inside them but here there was nothing except "her kindness". Kindness never made heroes, it took a bit more... So reading about a weak FMC, who threw up as soon as she got upset isn't my trope. There was FF in the book but the woman had a male name so I often confounded her with a guy😅😂
Unlike many others, from their reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the female alpha in the pack and the resulting FF. I wish it had more because what was there was sparse, and there were no one-on-one FF scenes. I started out really invested in this story, but somewhere along the way, I lost interest. I want Eve and her pack to have an HEA, but honestly, I'm going to just pretend this ending was one and call it done. I'm gonna chalk it up to a mood thing because there wasn't any specific thing I can pinpoint. It's an okay OV story with a mistreated omega and a fantastic pack of alphas who care for and protect her.
So I've read a lot of omega books but never one like this, it was a bit of a surprise to find a pack that wasn't all male never had that one before, wasn't sure how it would work, and to be honest wasn't sure I wanted to know. But you know what it was good sweet I think having a female alpha in the mix worked well, and it brought a whole new out look to the story I enjoyed it.
This one wasn’t my favorite omega verse, but I had ended up giving it a shot because I am a sucker for a abused scene who gets her happiness and her mates. The only thing that made it not that great for me to read is the FMC just wasn’t wasn’t given any punches she was pulling the punches left and right and I needed to see some development from them a little bit more throughout this first book versus waiting for the book to find her Footing.
This book was recommended to me and I knew instantly I would fall in love with it. This is also my first ever female alpha in a pack and I am quite enjoying learning about that dynamic. This pack is full of different personalities but they definitely fit together for a reason. Her family is absolutely horrendous. They wanted her gone but now because they raised crappy alphas they think they Exchange her. I just want a happy ending for her.
I found myself absolutely loving this book. I really liked the story, I personally found it to be quite sweet and I really loved watching the relationships start to build. I totally fell in love with the characters and I loved watching the pack come together. I also liked how some things were different than other books I’ve read giving this book something unique. Overall, I would highly recommend giving it a read.
A good omegaverse book, in a contemporary setting.
First in the series, and does well in introducing all the MC, but doesn’t provide much backstory on the MMCs. It’s very centric on the FMC even with the multiple POV, and the book is centred around her growth.
There was an interesting turn of events towards the end of this book, and as much as things have been resolved among the MCs, I’m curious how things will be handled in this universe in book 2.
4.5⭐️ this is the first of a 3 part book series!! I freaking loved it!! I like that it had a little bit of a different twist on Omegaverse. That the omega could chirp when she was in distress or needed her alphas! I’m 💯 ready to throw hands with her family!! They don’t treat her well because she is a “runt” and forcing her to lie about what she is!! She was born into cruelty but finds safety with her new alphas! I can’t wait to read part 2…
I liked this omegaverse quite a bit. it was a different take and focused on the "runt" of a pack. Evie is a severely abused omega be use she is a "runt" and considered the lowest in her family pack. Her awful family sells her to a new pack. Everyone in the new pack is sweethearts and helps Evie through her trauma. I liked the characters and the storyline. Looking forward to book 2.
The omega chirps just out of nowhere and the author didn’t explain why the alphas are outcasted to the outer city limits. The head alpha goes away on business and wasn’t able to put it off yet was able to come back a day later. We don’t really know much about the alphas and their jobs, family, or just general habits especially red and Riley
I absolutely loved reading this. The overall story line was great! The small ways Eve has evolved through the book is amazing! I definitely love her! The pack together as a whole and how they each care and respond to Eve I loved a lot! Although I hate cliff hangers I really enjoyed reading this book! And I would definitely read it again! 👏🏻🤩
Author is going for some different features in the usual omegaverse arena, namely that the omega, umm chirps? This was not as successful as the author probably intended.
Overall this story is not a great success. A lot of elements fall flat. The characters are quite flat.
The tortured heroine trope should compel the reader to care for the heroine, but here she's kinda just background noise.
was this a masterpiece? no , was some parts absolutely insane and made 0 sense? yes … BUTTTTTTTTTTT was this incredibly enjoyable and such a fun time ? YES.
loveddddd the dynamic between them and really loved how supportive and genuine they’re care was <3 I did skip the spicy scenes but the slow burn was v v enjoyable
The fmc in this book has a lot of trauma and is slowly healing. The mmcs are great. Even with their bad reputation they are strong and loving. I've been putting this series off for a bit thinking I wouldn't like it as much but I'm glad I got to read it. Can't wait to start book 2 to see what happens.
Rogue doesn’t really fit the title in the most conventional sense of the word. I really like all the alphas and Eve. Absolutely loathe Pack Carson and I would like to know that the sisters are also miserable. The book is extremely stressful In parts and I fear we haven’t seen the end of Zenith.
I'm not sure I'm really liking this story, the fact that they refer to her by her rank and not using her name just screams that they consider her an object they own. The story line, however has my attention. But the author does use terms that aren't explained clearly, also makes me lean towards apprehension on whether I like it or not.
