While this hasn't been my favorite series from LT, I still really enjoyed it. I think I may have loved it if I had read the first one first, given it was mostly hard to get into for me... Once I did though... It was action packed with a morally grey journalist uncovering the truth behind some wild unalivings, and she's not safe from being a victim herself.
There was a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing as the story unfolded. A lotttt of unalivings, even of characters I'd come to love, so keep your heart safe and be prepared. This one's pretty dark, but really fascinating and a lot of twisted fun. I really enjoyed the ending too. It definitely had me itching to pick up book 1 and excited for book 3.
The audio was great. Veronica Pace did a wonderful job with the narration and I really enjoyed this listen. Thank you Audio Sorceress for the advanced copy!
Stella LaRosa is fabulous! She's a clumsy drunk, but has more guts and determination than any woman ever. I enjoy a good, dark and bloody hand to hand battle with a paid assassin, but Stella is better at it than most women. She gets lucky and manages to survive. This story included an ugly fact that people will collect anything....including human body parts! Great read. I LOVED every minute of this dark ride.
The storyline was interesting, but there were a lot of inconsistencies and the editing was lacking. IE the code and how it worked changed, just like in book 1 she drove a jeep and then an old Honda, and then a jeep again; and that’s just a few. The inconsistencies just began to add up which for me took away from the overall story.
I read LT Ryan’s first book about Stella Collins and enjoyed it. The second attempt red ink was beyond my belief levels. Stella continues to be an out-of-control person with superhuman strength, despite being a severe alcoholic. It was too much for me and I won’t read any further books in the series
Stella is having a hard time recovering from depression and self-loathing. Several of her friends have been killed and she blames herself for not saving them. A tattoo artist in jail refuses to talk to anybody other than her. He tells her that he fears for his life and tells her a bit about an evil group called "The Collectors." She tracks down the group and saves a very high profile life.
If you like Action-packed books, you will enjoy this one. There are twists and turns along with surprises while reading this book. This book is unputdownable with spine-chilling incidents to keep your attention to see what will happen next. Happy reading! ☺️
Tedious. Made it about halfway through. I liked the first in the series quite a lot but this one just went on and on and on about her drinking and hangovers and wtf? She wasn't at all likeable or badass or anything.
Stella finds herself involved in searching for a group looking to attain body parts. Her life is trashed, she has killed to protect herself, and now works in an alcohol fueled stupor. But she won’t give up her search for the truth about these sickos.ENJOY!
L.T Ryan & group do an excellent job here. I was hooked immediately. Very imaginative. Maybe a little out there for some. She's a crime journalist but has skills of an assassin.
Stella is pitted against her greatest foe, the man that has cost her so many she loved, the oil man. She's off the booze and is getting her life back and thanks to her the paper has won a Pulitzer. Great story.
Ryan writes great stories, and this one of them - words and actions fly off the pages and keep you reading to the point where you don't want to put it down. You'll love it!
I’m still a bit puzzled what the red ink means in this book. You might think it means blood, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. In any case Stella has her hands full with people trying to kill her. Hopefully things will go better in the next book.
Well written and informative. Enjoyed the multitude of diverse characters. Looking forward to more adventures with Stella. Hopefully expanding on her family
