The feisty foe that Zara Riddle first met in The Wilds is now a member of the family, but all is not quite right at the Mystery Mansion.
Zara misses the good ol' days of chasing ghosts and getting chewed up by carnivorous plants, sea monsters, natural disasters, and even the ground itself.
When an investigation does come along, Zara jumps at the chance to use her magic, since she's better at that than cooking. The whole coven gets in on the action, and no sooner have they started than they lose Zara.
Of course Zara doesn't think she's lost at all. If anything, she finds herself right where she was always meant to be. That's how destiny works, right?
How is she ever going to reconcile her dream life with her real one? And which is which, anyway?
USA Today Bestselling author Angela Pepper lives with her family in the rainy Pacific Northwest, surrounded by spoiled kitties, deer, raccoons, and the biggest woodpeckers you've ever seen.
I'm always excited to read the next book but then one was read from my favorite. Zara's rambling is part of the appeal, but in this book they were hard to follow. I had to re-read sections to see of they were relevant. Often it was not. I could skip it and still continue with the story. If this had been my first read it would be my last. The concept was current as many people are using the multiverse and alt time lines so I did enjoy that. I'll still be waiting for the next installment. Not every swing at bat is a homerun 🙂 ,,
With book 17, the reader and Zara are in for a ride!!! Don’t let yourself be spooked by the beginning… Something is happening with Zara and she needs to heal to come out of her bad funk. Luckily the universe has a plan installed for her and things are about to change! It might get crazy but I promise you, it will be beautiful and all make sense at the end!
This story is very deep in the sense that a lot is going on mentally and emotionally with Zara. But it takes an amazing good writer to be able to create and put into words all the lows and highs Zara will go trough, and to have created this awesome craziness that will make so much sense in the end! In my opinion book 17 was bunkers, beautiful and awesome all together!
After the 12th book in this series, Pepper struggles to find anything that is even remotely entertaining.
The key plot point in book 17 is so preposterous no one would believe it. Oh, and all the things you liked about the previous books ... you wont find them here.
This book is harder to follow the most of hers in this series. I liked the beginning it felt familiar and funny . Then she seems to go in another direction where we were not exactly sure what had happened. This t not my most favorite of her books but it was not bat either.
I really enjoyed this series initially but the last few books have not been my cup of tea. Zara rarely seems happy. I can’t see a happy future as a possibility. The story is unique and based on other reviews many people enjoyed it.
What in the world did I just read? The storyline was bizarre and where are all the characters we have grown to love throughout the series? Really disappointed.
Wisteria Wonder # 17 in the Wisteria Witches Mystery series, written by Angela Pepper. If you have not read any of the other books in this series, please go back and start with # 1! You won’t be sorry! This series is, of course, about a city called Wisteria that is home to the most fantastic world of witches, shifters, ghosts and all types of mysterious and magical creatures! Each one is a wonderful tale of these characters as they go about life, or the afterlife, in some cases. You will need to pay close attention to this one as we zip back and forth between time lines and stories and other realities. I am always excited to read another story about the Riddle women and their closest friends!
There are many possibilities for storylines in magical genres. Zara has entertained us with her family, friends, and critters for 17 books and it seems her timeline is endless. This book she’s part of something bigger and takes a great deal of mental energy for her. I can’t spoil the book with saying much more. It was a loopy adventure, lots of miscommunication and unique technology. These books are a great escape if you enjoy a bit of magic with your mystery. I read an early copy and wrote my review voluntarily.
I thought this was one of Angela's more creative storylines. I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like it or not, but the more I read the more I fell in love with it. Zara lands in another dimension and her life is so completely different from what she's used to. She is married to a guy (Nash) who by some standards would be boring, but the love Zara and Nash share is so beautiful and very seldom comes along in a lifetime. After spending years in this other dimension Zara finds her way back home through a Portico. So much more to this story than meets the eye.
I love this series. I really enjoy the author's sense of humour & imagination. It allows us to be carried away into a magical world of witches & other worldly beings. It's tells about the Love of family & friends no matter how different they are. This is a fun series & I can't wait for what comes next.
I own every single book in this series on both Kindle and Audible. Each story is like visiting your bestie in your hometown - it really feels like going home, but with the added mystery of silly shenanigans. I know that the author has mentioned the series coming to a close, soon, but I have never tired of these stories, and I don't think I ever will. I'll keep reading them as long as she keeps putting them out.
