Siren's Heart: Love at First Sight

Rate this book
What if we are meant to be?

Millie

As one-half of the famous Siren's pop duo, I've learned the hard way that love and fame don't mix. It often brings pain, and hearts shatter all too easily. I've had enough.

But when we're hired for the charity event of the year, my resolve quickly gets washed down the drain. Luca makes my heart skip a beat in a way it never did before. When I talk to him, the rest of the world doesn’t matter. Could he be the one worth risking another heartbreak for?

Luca

Joining a football match for charity was the last thing I wanted – I’m an actor, usually in the stands, not on the field - but one glance at Millie changes everything. Her beauty captivates me, her voice enchants me, and suddenly, winning her heart becomes my greatest ambition.

But fame has its price when it comes to love. Can we pay it?

This was such a charming and adorable book! I adored every character and how they interacted with one another!
The two main characters clicked right away, and I really enjoyed that there was no outside love interest. They had the cutest times together, hugging and eating ice cream. It's very sweet to watch how supportive Millie and Luca are of one another in their relationship. It's so nice to read a book where there is genuine communication!

I like the perspective this book offered on celebrity culture. Hailey did a fantastic job of capturing the negative impact of social media on celebs. It might be challenging to humanize the main characters in celebrity romances when they are all wealthy, attractive, and gifted, but I felt the author did a pretty fantastic job of it. Reading about Millie's hardships as a result of people assuming they knew her based only on what they had read or seen on a screen or piece of paper was devastating.
As a swiftie, I can't help but draw comparisons between how Millie was depicted in the media as being somewhat defined by her relationships and how the media overemphasized them; it gives me "Tayvis" vibes.

If you're searching for a fast, humorous, and hot romantic comedy that will have you laughing a lot, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

To be honest, the first thing that caught my attention was this cover. Luca plays football, and Millie signs for a pop duo. The fact that it was written from two points of view allowed me to see what Luca was thinking in between his endearing exchanges with Mille. I enjoyed how the two main characters clicked right away.

It was nice to read a romance novel that highlighted Millie's experiences with social media and the bad aspects of fame, including internet trolls. I'm excited for the next book to be released.

Thank you Hailey Frost for this ARC!

3.75 stars!

What I loved about the book:
1. Don’t let this cutie patootie cover fool you, this thing has some fantastic spice!!! Luca was such a sweet MMC, but he transformed into a dirty boy in the sack and I was HERE FOR IT. The first time this boy started talking, my eyebrows about flew off my face in surprise. The praise kink was strong with this one.

2. Both of our MCs were just sweet as could be.

Millie had a lot of humility, despite being part of a large pop sensation. She also made sure she used her fame and money to bring light to failing businesses, give those working around/for her gifts and appreciation, and to take care of her family. She was just so sweet.

Luca was the epitome of a golden retriever cinnamon roll MMC. Making the driver wait until she was in the lobby of her hotel, opening her car door for her every time, slowing down his steps so she didn’t have to rush to keep up with him, and keeping one flower from the bunch he gave her so he knew when to replace them. Such small but simple and beautiful things that make all the difference.

3. I liked how the angst wasn’t from the relationship, but from outside influences which was much more realistic than some of the communication issues we typically see in romance books. I also loved the cleanup of the issues with fans in this story; it was so sweet. Lastly, big thank you to the author for no third act breakup 🙌

4. I loved the various times different love languages were brought up. It wasn’t a focal point, but it was definitely addressed several times between the best friends as well as the FMC and MMC.

5. I won’t spoil anything, but I liked that the two women weren’t the same level of popularity with the fans, and the hurdles that caused. It felt realistic this way and created a different kind of conflict than we typically see in romance books.

6. I liked how good of a friend Kayla was with all of the issues. She was always there for Millie when she needed and was often the one putting her foot down with the label and fans, like a true ride or die. HOWEVER, she is most definitely hiding her own stuff from Millie! Must be juicy…

Asher, Luca’s friend, was also a fiery personality like Kayla. He also was the one who ultimately brought around the good idea at the end of the book, proving his worth and that he did care at least a little about people. I can’t wait to see their fires clash in the next book!

What I wasn’t a fan of:
1. I felt there was a lot of telling the reader rather than showing them the chemistry between the couple outside the bedroom. It wasn’t bad, they were both lovely people, but I didn’t really feel the connection outside of intimate times.

2. The characters didn’t seem like they were in their thirties from some of their actions. All 4 of the MCs read as maybe mid-twenties. Not a problem for me either way, just something that stood out to me.

Final Thoughts:
This is a great book if you are looking for lots of cute, fluffy moments, delicious spice, and realistic angst.

I can’t wait for book 2 in this duology. Luca and Millie were super sweet, but Kayla and Asher are going to be 🔥

Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and Hailey Frost for the opportunity to read a copy of this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

2.5 ⭐

This book was sweet and fluffy but absolutely nothing happened for the first 80% of the book.

I was majorly turned off by the tactless way depression was used on page one as a throwaway word. 'This interior design' making our MC feel 'depressed' and I'm not entirely sure why we're still making comments like this in 2024. Call me overly-sensitive but as someone who had/has MDD it's not nice to see it treated like a joke on page one of a book.
However, I ventured on as this was an arc and luckily this is where the insensitiveness did too.

The main characters were sweet together and I did enjoy how the author explored how the media hold different people to different standards. Luca was a sweetheart and I cannot understand why the media were so harsh to Millie as she is the same. This golden retriever x golden retriever pairing was very cute to read and the spice was ok (even though Luca and Millie are absolutely not my type haha).

Tropes:
-Fame
-Actor x Singer
-Golden Retriever x Sunshine
-No third-act breakup
-Instant Love
-Strong Friendships

I do wish the plot had been developed a bit more, or the pacing re-evaluated. It did seem to drag and the majority of this book just felt like fluff of these two on dates - which is great content in moderation. Some of the writing also felt a bit juvenile in places and I was very shocked to see how old these characters were meant to be - they read as being in their early 20s.

I understand this is a duology but I really did not like how many loose ends there were by the time the book finished. I do want to know what is going on with Kayla.

This book was so cute! Siren's Heart follows Millie and Luca's love story. Millie is a signer in a pop duo and Luca is a football player. They're both really sweet characters! Millie has a bubbly personality and is a kind soul. Luca's love language is acts of service, he's all about the little things. He knows how to comfort her and reassure her when she isn't feeling her best. I also liked that it was dual pov so I could read what Luca was also thinking about after his cute moments with Mille.

I love that there was a playlist at the beginning of the book so I could listen to some of the songs while I read!

Thank you so much for the Arc!

ARC Read

Working at the same stadium for a month before a charity football event, Millie and Luca fall head over heels. I mean insta love is no match for these two.

Millie is sweet like sugar and Luca is the golden retriever ever girl dreams. They deserve each other, but being as famous as they are means the outside world isn’t quite as kind as you’d hope.

Hailey has created some really lovely, fluffy characters. If a sweet rom com with adorable dates, cute nicknames and yummy spice, this is the book for you. Luca is the kind of MMC who heals you when you don’t expect to need it. He’s attentive, caring and adorable while Millie has the power to inspire you to want to be kind regardless of how vile they can be.

Overall, a lovely book to read and I’m thankful for the opportunity to read this!

Spicy: 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Lovable Characters: 5/5 💗💗💗💗💗
Swiftie Vibes: 5/5 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤

Millie, a member of the renowned Siren's pop duo, understands firsthand the challenges of navigating love and fame. However, when she locks eyes with Luca at a charity event, her reservations about relationships fade away in his presence. Could he truly be worth risking another heartbreak?

As for Luca, participating in a charity football match was outside his comfort zone. Yet, upon seeing Millie, everything changes. Her beauty and voice captivate him instantly, igniting a newfound determination to win her heart above all else.

This is a dual POV, we see the side of a popular singer and the downfall of it, making her feel scared to be herself outside of the public eye. An excellent summer read, it's a good palate cleanser exploring the darker aspects of fame, this being genuinely enlightening and emotionally impactful to observe the consequences of online trolls and the influence of social media on Millie.

Despite the obstacles within her duo, Millie's journey to self-assurance was inspiring. Seeing her evolve into a confident woman warmed my heart.
With her sharp humor, infectious charm, and unwavering sweetness, Millie quickly became a character I couldn't help but root for, it brought to mind the struggles faced by artists like Tay Tay, having to conceal their emotions for fear of becoming targets of public scrutiny and hate.
The MMC Luca was the dream golden retriever, always showing acts of service that melted Millie's heart.

The cover of this book is incredibly adorable and perfectly matches the enthusiastic fast-paced heartwarming writing style that embodies Hailey Frost's skill for storytelling.

Combining elements of chick-lit with a lively narrative, the book held my attention from beginning to end. Witty dialogue and heartfelt scenes crafted a captivating reading journey that is both entertaining and relatable. Please don't underestimate this cute pink cover, you will find the right amount of spice moments, not at all overdone. I recommend this to chick-lit lovers, Golden Retrievers print lovers, Swifties, and any Indie Authors supporter in general.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author Hailey Frost for allowing me to review this book. Which, I will be giving my honest and sincere review.

What an absolutely fun read! I never thought I would enjoy “love at first sight” as much as I did with this book.

- Singer x Actor
- Golden Retriever MMC/FMC
- No 3rd Act Breakup

Luca and Millie were literally the sweetest characters. They meshed so well together, both in and outside of the bedroom (don’t let that cute cover fool you into thinking this book is completely innocent 🤭). I was constantly giggling and kicking my feet over how cute they were!

Example of Cuteness: Luca gave Millie flowers but kept one for himself because he wanted to know when he needed to replace her flowers 😍 LIKE STOP BEING SO CUTE 😩

Overall, this was exactly what I needed after reading so many heavy fantasy books. This is the perfect light and fluffy read when all you want to do is relax and not worry about excessive world building. Highly recommend it to all of my hopeless romantics 💜

Thank you so much Hailey Frost for sending me an ARC of this book 🫶

This was my first book I’ve read from Hailey Frost and can say I definitely enjoyed it.
Being such an easy and light hearted read but also filled with so much emotion, it really does show what people can go through if your famous or not and can show how much words really do hurt.

Loved loved loved seeing the romance blossom between Millie and Luca. Going from the awkward first dinner, to the first date and not being seperate. I loved them so much! And throw in a bit of sport to just keeps it interesting.

Definitely a read for all, with a little bit of spice thrown in amongst the story, I can’t wait for the next book to be released.

Such a sweet romance story. It was nice to read a story that was sweet and wholesome.
Millie is the MFC who is a singer (apart of a duo group), who has had back luck in the past with relationships and being in the spotlight.
Luca the MMC is an actor but keeps himself away from the spotlight and from social media.
The two see each other for the first time when they are both asked to be apart of a football game for charity. They are both smitten straight away – but Luca definitely shows he falls hardest first.
The author did a great job showcasing some of the lows of being famous and in a relationship (yes she definitely gave us some “Tayvis” vibes with this one!).
If you are after a sweet young adult book then this one is for you!

Siren's Heart- Millie x Lucas (ARC REVIEW)
It might take a while. But we'll be okay.

I'm in love. I'm in love with Lucas. With Millie and her very being. With their love and connection. And with this book. Siren's Heart is my heart now.

THE BOOK.
Such a heart-warming read! There was attraction, emotion, comedy, fun, sisterhood, brotherhood, spice, care and loads of love. I am so happy to receive an ARC for this amazing book.

CHARACTERS
With all of Millie's description I couldn't help but picture Sabrina Carpenter as my Millie. I mean Millie IS literally her and you can't convince me otherwise. Millie is sweet, caring and a damn ray of sunshine. Lucas however, made me fall head over heels for him. How can a man be THAT good?! He was perfect. A total sweetheart.

STORY
It gave me major Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcee vibes at the end, but this story was far more than just that. It highlighted so many things that might have gone unnoticed if not for the excellent narrative. I like how a celebrity's life, struggles and the reality v/s what's shown online scenario which grows on and on nowadays.

I absolutely HATED all the hate Millie got while not deserving any of it. Her label is shitty and to some extent, I didn't even like Kayla. Millie suffered so that her reputation wasn't tainted but she never told Millie about it and for years, remained a silent spectator. I do see the love they share and how much she does in-fact care for her mate but it doesn't justify her lack of efforts to make it right.

I liked how there was a instant connection between the two leads and no third love interest between them. The time they spent together cuddling and eating ice-cream? SWOOON. Seriously, they're the cutest.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Sweeties, you NEED to have this book on your immediate TBR. And the way the second book is teased multiple times in here? I'm dying to read Kayla and Asher (was kinda bummed I didn't get both the ARCs). The Siren's Duo is a must read. And I'm waiting till the release for the second book because I know it's gonna be GOOOOOOOD.

Siren's Heart is a sweet and spicy romance and the first book of the Sirens Duet, and can be read as standalone. A must-read for all who are looking to read a fun and low-angst romance.

The story was beautifully written I love the character and relationship development throughout the story

ARC Review

Sirens Heart follows a Pop Star Millie and an Actor Luca, but the plot is based around a Charity Football Match Luca is participating in. Millie is one half of the Pop Duo and The Siren’s are playing the Half Time Show.

The plot leans on how celebrities handle the lime-light including the good and bad publicity that comes with being in the public eye.

I don’t typically read books that lean towards the trope “love at first sight” but I really enjoyed the way Siren’s Heart played out. It was combined with a good amount of angst and slow burn that made the trope feel believable.

Some of the side characters did make me cringe at times but they didn’t overshadow the main characters and I did really enjoy how the story played out.

If you are looking for a light read, filled with cute characters with a side of drama this book is for you! I also enjoyed the set up for the next book and am looking forward to seeing how Aasher and Kayla’s story plays out.

ARC Review:

Siren’s Heart: Love at First Sight by Hailey Frost is the first book in the Siren’s Duet series. This was a sweet and fun quick read. I loved this book! I am excited to read book 2 when it comes out.

Millie was such a sweetheart and such a great friend. Her and Luca had me smiling the whole book. They were so wholesome and adorable. This was such a great read! Luca was such a green flag. This man had me swooning. Millie is one half of the pop duo Siren’s. Luca is a famous actor. They meet at a charity football match where Millie is performing the half time show and Luca is a player. They instantly feel a connection with each other. I loved how shy both characters were in the beginning. I loved the dual POV since it gave an insight into what both characters thought about the other. This book also touches on the issues of social media and how hateful people can be online. This was a cute story and I enjoyed reading it.

Actual rating 3.5/5 but rounded up for GoodReads !

Cute romance story, told in dual pov (love love love this). Starring Millie who is a popstar and Luca a famous actor. They cross paths when they are both preparing for a charity event Millie for her performance, Luca for the football game against other celebrities. It was love at first sight. This was a really cute read and I loved the main characters. I really liked reading about Millie's experiences with social media and negative aspects of fame (like internet trolls), I felt like it made for a more realistic story.
I look forward to seeing where the story goes in the next book, patiently awaiting the release. If you like any of the following tropes, you should give this book a read: fame/celebrity, actor x singer, golden retriever x sunshine, no third-act breakup, love at first sight, low angst, and dual pov.

Thank you to the author, Hailey Frost, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I absolutely loved this cute romance story! It's a love at first sight, he falls first romance between a pop star and an actor. It is light-hearted and so sweet, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Millie is one half of the pop duo The Sirens, and Luca is an A-list actor. When Millie agrees to perform at the half-time show for the VIP Charity Match, she had no idea she'd be meeting the handsome Luca. When Luca first sees Millie, sparks fly! It's love at first sight! Their story is so heart-warming and sweet, and I loved the two as a couple. They both deal with issues that come along with fame, like hate on social media, drama, and internet trolls, but Millie seemed to get the worst of it. It was beautiful to see how they were there for each other throughout it all.
This is a cute cuddly romance, and I am looking forward to seeing how Kayla and Asher get on in the next book!

Thank you so much to the author for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I am not going to lie, this cover was what initially drew me in. I'm obsessed with it, and thought it was the cutest thing ever so I was super excited when a copy landed in my inbox. I am usually not too much of a fan of the 'one of us is famous' or 'we're famous' tropes because I generally find really unrelatable because, spoiler alert; I am not famous.

Millie's and Luca's story was super, super cute though and I appreciated the way it handled celebrity culture and the toxicity that can be social media. I thought the pacing was good, the spice was decent and it had some super sweet moments. It was a cute, fun, easy read and was exactly what I needed :) I am super keen to see what the author does next, and I can't wait to read Kayla and Asher's story!

This was such a cute a quick read! It was my first read by this author and I can't wait to read more. In this book we follow Millie and Luca, Millie is part of a pop duo and Luca is an actor joining a football match for charity. And though this was an instant love book I very much enjoyed it all.

I really liked Haileys writingstyle, written in a dual-POV getting to know Millie and Luca very good. And though the books seems ligth and sweet, Frost takes you in deeper in the darker effects of the fame you can get if you are part of a populair duo. The way she wrote about this really wanted me to get into the book and give Millie a big hug.

I loved every second of this sweet instalove, spicy and funny read and I can't wait for book two in the series.

Thank you Hailey Frost for this ARC to read and review.

🎤 Golden retriever cinnamon roll MMC
🎤 Actor x Singer
🎤 Love language heavy
🎤 Love at first sight
🎤 No third act breakup!! 🙌

Ok this one was cute, Millie and Luca were absolutely adorable together. That being said don’t let that and the cute cover fool you, the spice is nice in between the pages, Luca definitely knows what he likes and how to get it.

The low angst in this comes from outside influences on them both as a couple who are both famous, so it was nice to see them navigate this opposed to the usual in relation angst/issues that a lot of books have. If you’re after a cute, fluffy romantic comedy of a book I think you’ll like this. Get ready to fall in love with Luca however, it’s inevitable and can’t be helped.

I finished this book in about 4 hours & it was only at the end that I realised there was no more book, that I had finished it & I wanted more!

Luca is just so sweet & supportive. Millie is such a perfectionist. But they had great chemistry!

I’m not going to lie I thought maybe Kayla had something she was hiding which makes wanting to read her book much more intriguing & cannot wait for that…

However my burning question… the Walker Brothers… are they getting their own series? Because that I can get behind 100%

All in all it was a great quick read.
Fun, chemistry, spice & friendship.

Look forward to reading more in the future!

This book got my giggling and blushing non stop haha. I loved Millie and Luca, they were such a perfect match. All the cute gestures he made, and how well they communicated and understood each other. Loved it
I don't usually read insta-love books, but this was exactly what I needed honestly. Sometimes you just need two golden retriever MCs lol
I have to admit that it made me sad reading how the press was treating Millie, especially when they didn't act the same with Kayla. It broke my heart seeing my pure soul baby Millie being harassed like that by the tabloids.

Siren's Heart, the first book of the Siren's Duet, is a great heartwarming romance about Millie, a renowned singer, and Luca, an A-list actor. Don't let the bright happy colors of the cover fool you. There is bullying and verbal insults but not between the main characters and also some good steamy scenes 🔥

Millie and Luca are both lovable mc's and their relationship is absolutely adorable. They are both sweet, friendly, family-oriented, and are constantly worrying about the other's wellbeing. They communicate well and thankfully there was NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP! The pacing of the story was nice and I love how they both seemed innocent but had a dirty side to them too 😉

Asher is by far my favorite side character. Kayla frustrated me when she never said anything about Millie's mistreatment until the very end. At first it was hard for me to tell if she was truly on Millie's side or if everything she did was for herself. Regardless, I can't wait for the release of Siren's Game!

If you're a fan of dual POV, celebrity love at first sight romance with low angst and no third act breakup, then Siren's Heart is perfect for you!

I saw someone promote this book on Instagram and the synopsis and cover drew me in. But that’s basically where it ends with me. I wasn’t a fan of the format and found it hard to read (font size and grey background) and this disengaged me from the get go.
The spicy scenes did not reflect the whole vibe I got from the writing style found in the rest of the book.
This wasn’t fleshed out and felt rushed. I was let down when reading this because it had potential.

“I feel like I've known you half my life already." "And I hope to know you for the rest of mine."

Not me kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl throughout this entire read. So fluffy, so cute, so sweet, so gushing with love! Siren’s Heart definitely gave me a few cavities and it was WORTH IT! I need to see this book as a film. It’s giving hallmark vibes. It’s filling that hole for fluffy and steamy celebrities romance.

I cannot wait for Siren’s Game. I will wait here patiently until then but gosh, let me continue to gush over Mille and Luca 😭💖

I am obsessed with Millie and Luca! This cute but spicy romance follows the blossoming relationship of two celebrities taking part in a charity match. This book goes much deeper than that though and also exposes the struggles of fame and how it can affect day to day life for different people based on how they are perceived by the media. I am incredibly glad that I had a chance to arc read this book and I am certainly looking forward to reading Siren’s Game as well! Well done Hailey 💕
