I'm only giving this book three stars instead of two, because the chapter about the history of the modern school system was very interesting. This book definitely provided me with some talking points for if anyone dares to debate me on homeschooling. That being said, the author repeats a lot of the same information and out of order. Some of the topics she touched upon at the end of the book really should have been at the beginning of the book. It felt like she was trying to hit a word count requirement on top of having a bad editor. It wasn't a bad book per say, but there are definitely better homeschooling books out there that are of better quality (The call of the wild and free, The Read Aloud Family).
