It’s time for new heroes. Ryan Curtis is almost an average teenager. There’s just one small his parents are superheroes. Ryan just wants to be normal but instead his family life is full of danger, excitement and action, but then the tragic actions of a demented scientist mean he has to go into hiding Now he’s being chased across the world by a secret organisation which really wants to harvest his organs. He’s tired, lonely and needs help, but all he has for support is a nineteen year old woman with serious anger management issues and an eccentric Japanese inventor. Now they have to team up, defeat the bad guys and save the world. If only it were that simple. If you’ve ever “The world needs a novel where a teenaged girl throws grenades at monsters”, then you’re in for a treat!
Paddy Lennon is male, Irish and a reasonably likable person. He has an Honours Degree in Business from Dublin Institute of Technology and has worked in finance for many years, neither of which are relevant to writing novels. He watches an unhealthy amount of television, reads a lot of comics. He also loves martial arts, cooking, Transformers, G.I. Joe and Mass Effect. "Flare" is his first novel and is a pretty enjoyable read.
Flare is an extremely well thought out and written book. Would defiantly recommend to anyone to wants to know about the children of superheroes. That is one of the main things about this book that I liked, as you do not really think about the children of superheroes (or at least I didn't). I am looking forward to the next book.
