Warren W. Wiersbe

Because of his encouragement to those in ministry, Dr. Wiersbe is often referred to as 'the pastor's pastor.' He has ministered in churches and conferences throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Central and South America, and Europe. Dr. Wiersbe has written over 150 books, including the popular BE series of commentaries on every book of the Bible, which has sold more than four million copies. At the 2002 Christian Booksellers Convention, he was awarded the Gold Medallion Lifetime Achievement Award by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Dr. Wiersbe and his wife, Betty, live in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This isn’t a quick-read, feel-good type of book. Instead, it challenges you to dive deeper into God’s Word and let His truth shape every corner of your life.
Each day begins with a clear focus—a title and Scripture references that set the stage. The real growth, however, happens as Wiersbe provides a short thought, takes you deeper with practical, heart-stirring reflections, and follows up with questions designed to linger and provoke. I’ve found myself reflecting on these questions and applying the truths long after, as they push me to integrate what I’ve read into my daily life.
What sets Becoming New apart is how Wiersbe challenges you to move beyond simply knowing the truth. He pushes you to love it, then live it out in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is a devotional centered on daily transformation—renewing your mind and heart with God’s Word.

Excellent devotional. Many books like this open with one verse--or phrase--from the Bible and the writers scarcely refers to it as they launch into their own thoughts. This one has you digging in to whole passages, and his comments center on the text and also bring in his depth of experience and perspective. I often took 2 days to finish one day's reading. Highly recommend!
