Faery is on death's doorstep… and Sophie is nowhere to be found.

Heartbroken. Hurting. Hollow. Sophie Taliesin finds herself back at square one in a new realm – the Godlands. Though this new world brings new adventures, grief is a looming darkness whose bite she can’t seem to shake.

Kaine, in desperate search for Sophie, leaps from the ledge of sanity. He plays into the bloodied hands of Queen Calliea and makes good on his promise… to start a war in the name of the only woman who has shown him love.

As the last standing courts of Faery fall to the blight and the evil of the Shadow Realm burgeons, Sophie must return to Faery. But to face her greatest betrayal and an even greater threat, she will need to control her powers.

The key not only lies in her own veiled past, but the one she shares with an angel of the Tienthan – Acheron Taranis.

4.5 ⭐️ BOOK TWO BABY! 👏🏼 I was so damn excited for this ARC to finally arrive in my inbox & man it did not disappoint. If you’re seeing this review & haven’t read book one “Between Two Realms”, please head over to my review of that one first & then dive head first into the gorgeous whirlwind world of Faery! If you have read my last review, well then you’ll know what I’m meaning when I say the crack was cracking once again.

Maz, maz, maz, you’ve done it again! Another book full of magic, mystery, adventure, love & a little dash of pain. I love the way all the different storyline’s flowed in so well & it didn’t feel choppy or confusing at all. This book was such an easy page turner & I found myself constantly wanting to know more & see where things wound up. I am absolutely obsessed with these Godlands & I don’t want to return to anywhere else, this place is so awesome & filled with some of the best characters!

I mean… Can we just take a moment for ✨ Calypso ✨ oh and Ash, he goes alright too 😉

This book perfectly scratched that itch for the Greek mythology girlies. Not so much that you were drowning and overwhelmed with information but enough to spark excitement & enjoy a taste of what these realms could be like with all of these personalities in one place. As well as having a dash of darkness with the addition of the Shadow Realm 👏🏼 we’re here for it!

There are a lot of quotes/references to real life things, you saw in my last review that last book it felt a little forced and that there were too many, but this book, nope, it was perfect. It felt natural each time & I loved every one of them. You had me smiling and even laughing at some of the things you managed to put in there that just worked so well, even though you truly would never think you’d see them written in a book. You know what I’m talking about, I’m still laughing over the politician line & the T.S.G.H line. 😂

All in all, I’m here, I’m loving it & I’m ready for book #3, SIGN ME UP! The Breaking Of Two Realms?! I’m terrified already!! 😅

A warning: books 1 & 2 of this trilogy end with CLIFFHANGERS. I pretty much died at the end of book 1 and read this book hoping for a restorative but noooo, it's got to end in an even more  disgusting way (not literally, of course). Who knows when book 3 will be released

This trilogy took the fated mates trope and added a twist. I'm not quite sure if I appreciate this as it was very difficult at the start of this book for me to move on from the last book even if there were very clear reasons to. It grew on me though and the addition of wings in this book definitely helps. I don't want to say too much in case if spoilers but just get past the first 40% and the rest will be super fun read.

By fun, I mean, really quite corny sweet. There's a bff to lovers trope which I am sweet on. Then, there are descriptions which made me wonder if I should cringe or laugh or melt.

"The way his muscles flexed and moved was unfairly hypnotising. His body was a devastating poem whose lines she wanted singed into her subconscious. Every line. Every curve. Every dip."

Oooh  However way you take the above quote, the read will be a very entertaining one Another warning, it is also a very slow excruciating slow burn. Enjoy! [insert evil laugh]

My thanks to the author for gifting me an ecopy of this book. Thoughts are mine own.

Synopsis:
Following the events at the end of book 1, Sophie finds herself in the Godlands surrounded by angels and gods. Trying to recover from the heartbreak ending of Between Two Realms she finds herself with a new found family and an even bigger surprise from her lost past.

My thoughts:
Trying to keep this spoiler free without being too vague is going to be hard! This book has a focus on Sophie’s recovery after the ending of book 1, while at the same time discovering her lost past which fills in a lot of gaps we discovered in the first book. We learn the back story of her importance for the realm and we follow her journey back to herself, while meeting a new key character in Acheron.

If you’re looking for action in this book, you don’t really get it with the exception of the Hrobrast Trials towards the end. Because of this, for me, it did feel a little slow to get through. I do feel it could possibly have been a little shorter in length to condense some detail, but at the same time I still looked forward to picking it up of an evening.

We’re introduced to a whole new cast of characters in this book, mostly based on Greek mythology. At times I felt the mythology references a little overkill but they have been done thoughtfully (though some references aren’t accurate to their mythology forms or descriptions). Like with book 1 I really enjoyed the relationships with the side characters, though there were some I just found annoying and could’ve happily had less of. But the relationships the author writes and the friendships formed feel so real I couldn’t help but smile throughout their interactions.

Overall this was a 4⭐️ read for me, and yet again Mazrine has left us on a cliff hanger ending. I’m looking forward to the final book!

Beyond Two Realms picks up just after the "events" (for a lack of a better word without spoiling book 1), and ooooh... it is gooooooood!!! Sophie finds herself in Godsland, where she finds new (and old) friends, identity, powers, strength and family. A LOT happens in this book and i LOVED that we still got the persepectives of a few characters in the last book even though theyre separated. Again I loved the new characters that were introduced and still loved the characters I already knew and really appreciated the ones I didn't.

Now the writing style of both books did take a little getting used to. I felt like it would have been good for the YA crowd but because of the spice involved it made the writing seem a little juvenile but as the books progressed so did the writing style and I felt like that could have either been the authors growth or maybe even intentional; the writing growing with the characters maturity. And if that was the case then, bloody well done. Either way, by the 2nd book I no longer felt like I was reading a spicy YA.

I absolutely adored the aussie colloquialisms throughout the books and the pop culture references: particular beloved fairy smut books, movies, even bunnings gets a bit of a promo shout out! It helps to bring you back to the fact that these Realms are existing along side ours, in our timeline, which is so cute and I loved it dearly.

When rating I found it super hard. Book 1 was hovering between a 3 and 3.5 for almost 90% of the book and then boosted its rating to an easy 4. Book 2 was a 5 star to me, it hit on everything that did hit in book 1 and then exceeded my expectations, so as a series so far it has to be given a 4.5 overall and honestly, I am hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for book 3 to come!

First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the premise of these books. We’ve all wanted to be Sophie at any given time in our lives and she’s a kickass FMC.

The writing in this book compared to book 1 absolutely smashed it out of the park and I’m so excited to see how much more this author evolves as she continues in this world.

What I adore about this series is that it goes to the extremes that some writers will skirt or stay as far away from as possible and I still manage to be surprised when it happens. The children being eviscerated into blood mist was especially insane… I’m looking at you Kaine…

I really wanted more of what was happening in Faery, Sophie’s storyline feels like a filler episode in your favourite tv series when all you want is more action.

I did enjoy the Greek mythology elements I was just so sidetracked wondering what everyone else was doing while Sophie was pretending not to notice how disarmingly charming Ash is.

I’m excited to read book 3 because if it’s written as well as this one and in Faery I’m expecting a 5 star read !

I had the absolute pleasure of receiving an ARC for Beyond Two Realms, book two of the Two Realms series, and oh boy did it deliver! It had everything you could want from a romantasy series ranging from love, pain, greek mythology, humour, pop culture references, trauma.. I don't know about you but I am a sucker for a FMC who is working through it.

The introduction of Archeron, a swoon worthy literal angel, and Calypso, the perfect sassy sidekick hellhound, had me grinning at times. Once we got into the action, I fell hard for these characters, and have a festering hatred of some. I am invested, I want the drama and the conclusion!

Another cliffhanger had be hanging but I'm so keen to round off this series with an epic finale.

Another cliffhanger!? ANOTHER ONE!?
I’ll forgive her though because this is one of those beautiful works where the sequel is even better than the debut, so I am very excited for book three.

Highlights: The visceral world-building, the call backs and plot reveals from book one, all the new characters (including the new villains who I thoroughly enjoyed hating), the adventures and the monsters, and oh my god the spicy slow burn - chefs kiss!

I thought I was obsessed with Kaine… pfft, I will be thinking about only Ash and his hands for a very long time.

I devoured this book and I will be counting down the days until we get the next one. 100% recommend this series.

Spoilers?!

✨✨✨✨✨✨

Look I just finished reading it after drawing it out for abit cause ya know, THERE HAS TO BE A CLIFFHANGER, its a trilogy after all. And I was floored in both a good and bad way. Tell me how.

Anyway, I'll keep it short (hopefully). I bloody loved this sequel, the world grew, the plot thickened, more wonderful and not so wonderful characters were introduced and my emotions have been thrown into chaos (worth it).

For fantasy, romance, action, mystery and all that good stuff lovers out there, get on this book after reading the first (Between Two Realms).

Absolutely loved it and eager for the finale!

I had the honour of ARC reading this book and I absolutely loved it. If you love fantasy romance, fae and angels with a little spicy then this series is for you. The second book had everything I loved in a book, I laughed and cried and got a bit flustered from the heated chapters. There was some surpises i didnt see coming. I loved the development of the MFC and the intro of a new MMC who I fell inlove with. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fae fantasy romance. I can't wait for the third book. ❤️

I will be honest it took me a hot minute to get back into the world but when I did it was great. The writing style has gotten even better since book one and I adore the nods to other book series that I adore!

I don't want to spoil anything but the new characters introduced in this are amazing and hilarious! And the hellhound is adorable!

You should pick up this series and have a read! Amazing!

This was a super enjoyable read. The writer does a great job of leaning, obviously, into the standard tropes but does it in such a light, fun way that you don’t feel like rolling your eyes.

It did feel seperate to the first book - like we were trying to avoid the massive events of the first book. In her acknowledgement she does say she wrote this story first and I think it shows.

Really excited to see what happens in the third book which should tie the other two together more tightly.

I wrote this as I read this time and by far "HE HAS A CHOCOLATE CROISANT IN HIS F*ING MOUTH" has me reeling! Also! What a twist! And so early in the book! I'm frothing!
I've just finished it and I'm hooked. Fast approaching a hard favourite of mine! Too many favourite point to surrender in such a small space. I'm hanging on by tooth and nail for the next instalment 😈

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

I can't wait for the next book. So many ups and downs. This book has it all. Love, Hate, Adventure, Humour and everything in between.

If you enjoy Romantasy you will love this book. It is the second in the series so I would suggest reading Book 1 first.

Wow, I have never started a book so fast after the first book. Amaris has a way with words and this book brought it. From the way Sophie changed and grew to being able to fall in love new characters.

This book is so well written I'm not sure I'll be able to recover for a bit. But wow. Amazing.

I am going to wait ever so patiently for book 3 because this book was a masterpiece.
