Last Call: Calaway Crossing Book 1

Rate this book
When you live in a small, remote town, and you’re related to half the population, meeting someone isn’t easy. Enter Elaina Quintero.

Running the Ambrose Tavern and Boarding House with his brother, Paxton knew everyone in Calaway Crossing. So, when a strange woman showed up at the bar one night, he knew she wasn’t a local.

Elaina Quintero was the new paramedic. Hired to sit in an ambulance five days a week. She loved her job, but she hated where it had taken her. This middle of nowhere town was not where she wanted to be.

Meeting the Calaway brothers was pleasant though. And even though she had no intention of pursuing either one of them, she found herself debating who was more appealing. Paxton was young, buff, and a little too scruffy. His old brother Remington was more her type. He was serious, clean-cut, and probably older than her. If nothing else, they’d be a nice distraction.

Paxton found Elaina fascinating, and he was determined to show her that his tiny town had its charms. But there were two major obstacles to that. Elaina thought he was too young for her and didn’t seem to want to begin a relationship with him or anyone else. She also made it quite clear that Calaway Crossing was just a pit stop. Staying there forever was not an option.

Last Call is the first book in the Calaway Crossing Series.

Leigh Spends her days with cute, sexy guys. Unfortunately, they’re on paper. But still, not a bad way to spend your day. She also writes about strong, independent women who can hold their own against these irresistible guys. She’s not a pure romance writer because she breaks the rules a bit. But that’s the fun part. Leigh’s stories have adventure, family relationships, and the struggles life throws at you sometimes. But boy always meets girl. They tussle a bit while they figure out what they really want. Then find their happily ever after, even though it might not be what they thought it was going to be.
But the most amazing thing about this is, she does it all with a dog on her lap. Her muse may not be one of her book boyfriends. But a cute dog is the next best thing.

I absolutely loved reading Last Call: Calaway Crossing Book 1!!!! All about Paxton Calaway the cute twenty-four year old bartender who is single and lives with his brother Remington, and has four other brothers & a baby sister & Elaina Quintero is an ambulance driver new to town, she lives with her mom & three year old son. She meets Paxton & Remington when she stops at his bar while she’s exploring the town. She actually lives in Richfield which is an hour & a half away from Calaway Crossing, as you must take the ferry, then drive 1/2 hour to her rental house. Read about Elaina & Paxton and see how being in a small town with a family rich in historic values raises the bar of expectation. Lots of emotion, plenty of canoodling. Lots of characters that are intertwined throughout the story. It was a delight to read and I can’t wait to read book two!!!!

Great book! I already preordered the next two in the series. Leigh writes books that revolve around strong family bonds and of course sexy heroes and their equally sexy match. It makes for a great escape into the make believe world that most of us need. I have enjoyed every book that I have read by this author and appreciate the lack of profanity and torrid sexual scenes. I definitely recommend this book to other readers.

Elaine and Paxton

What a refreshingly loving book wrapped around a great family and in a small town.
This story was such an enjoyable yet an honest one with a cast of characters. Paxton, the youngest brother of a large family. Elaine came to town temporarily.
But Paxton fell for her. Read to see how it all went when she got transferred out.
Leigh Fenty is a great writer of relationships. Well worth it.

Last Call

I loved the story! Very sweet and an easy, fun read! Just wondering about Brynlee. Why is there a differently named lady for Remington? I’m kind of confuzzled!
Looking forward to the next book June 1st!

Putting this book down was not an option. I loved the guy characters in this book. This book is a romantic book, not in a steamy intimate way, but in a do kind hearted things kind of way, not pushy to get their way or wants! G rating, ending chpt PG13.
Off to read the next book.

Unassuming

Last Call: Callaway Crossing Book 1 by Leigh Fenty is an unassuming, quiet read. There aren't any adrenaline rushes but a very readable story line about family interaction.

If I hadn't already fallen in love with sweet romances through another author, this series would have won me over. The warm and hilarious tale where not everything is perfect but some things are was great. I immediately read the next two that are out and preordered the fourth one. Although I order via KU, I will be buying them because this one is definitely a reread.
