By now most of you know that Rita Hestand is from Texas, that she's a widow, a mother, and a grandmother. You know that she was an only child, and that she traveled the US as a child extensively. What made her a writer was the fact that she was an only child growing up in an age when a kid had to use their imagination to entertain themselves. You probably know that she acted out her first books in the backyard all over the countryside.

Rita worked most of her adult life, but one job she’s especially proud of is as a day care provider in her home for twenty years. Helping to raise her own grandchildren to school age, it seemed only natural to enroll in the Institute of Children's Literature, where she graduated in 1997. Rita writes children's books, poetry and romance, along with plays and short stories.

She's a member of Books We Love, WRW, and a firm believer that learning should never stop. But above all, she believes that one should NEVER GIVE UP!

Well this story was interesting

On romance in this no sex because they was black and white. I was very disappointed in the different you made in the relationship between the two race .. The Indian and white girl had sex and love . but black man got none. Who can read who ever.

Western drawl GALORE

Western drawl GALORE

The idea of a Black man being cautious about being seen with a White woman is a "romantic turnoff". I am not a fan of continuous "giddy up drawl" in a Western. Most of the characters talk without that continuous drawl except for maybe one ranch hand. This book was full of it which I found enormously distracting. I know that you might say, "What did you expect? It's a Western for Pete's sake". I know, I know but I "personally" do not find it romantically appealing. Fantastic storyline however I scanned this book a lot just to get to the main of each section.

When I started reading Ask No Tomorrows I thought it was a little simplistic. But, the more of the story that I read, I started to see that it's simplicity hid a story with a big heart. Sam and Riley couldn't be more different and more alike. The love the blooms between in the rough dusty Texas countryside is nothing short of amazing.

I thought the book was a good read. Lately I have been fascinated with reading interracial romances from the late 1800's. The one criticism I have is that the author repeated lines within the story on several occasions.

Sweet comedy gold.

Much better than average for the sadly misused BMWW subgenre of romance.
