Poetry and I will never be comfortable companions. Try as I might, and I do keep trying, I seem unable to really appreciate it as a form. I won't stop trying though.

This is a short collection of poems my wife got for me on our 25th wedding anniversary this year (clearly she is a keeper).

From long to short, from wordy to prosaic, from high romance to everyday love this has a little of everything.

I’m not generally a fan of poetry. We got this book from a friend for our wedding anniversary and I surprised myself by enjoying it. I’ve always loved the ee cummings one and I really loved Lorraine Mariner’s own inclusion. They were my favourites.

Very quick and easy read - loved the inclusion of older pieces and it was refreshing to see more of Alfred Tennyson’s work!
