I had some fun time reading this book.

The story takes place in Boston where our main character Zoe goes as an English Babysit.

If you didn't know, this book is a winner of Romantic Novelists' Association Romantic Comedy Award.
That being said, I don't think I have to tell you it is full of funny situations and toughts.

Zoe was a great narrator and I think it would be awesome if there was movie based on this book.
Who knows, maybe one day we'll have a chance to see it.

Full review to come later, when I'll have more time to write one.
I hope that will be by the end of the month, if not, then it will be at the beginning of May.

This romantic read was extremely hard to put down. The plot flowed nicely from moment to moment that I managed to finish it easily within a day due to it's short chapters which just had me thinking 'okay, just one more' constantly.

I love the flirty, cheesy but romantic way Jane has wrote all the books of hers I have read so far and the embarrasing moments which brings the story back to reality instead of it being some sort of fairytale. I adored all the characters and how they were portrayed as I found them so relatable and real, I could almost compare them to many people I know which I find you can't do with an amazing amount of novels of this genre.

I do have to say that I didn't give it five stars because I was fairly disappointed by the abrupt ending because even though I enjoyed for it's sense of realism I was expecting a much more romantic and bigger ending after the level of suspense I found built up thoughout the chapters.

I would definately reccomend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick, simple, girly read which can make you laugh and even cry at points but will keep you hanging in suspence if you put it down.

A cute enough chick-lit about a girl who was jilted at the alter before the start of the novel, and flees the UK to escape it all, ending up as a live-in nanny for an American family.

Zoe is of course nursing a broken heart, but it doesn't take long for her to notice her employer, a surly single dad, is attractive.

The book proceeds pretty much as you'd expect from there, with some laughs and some embarrassing moments for our leading lady. My main problem with the book was that I struggled to root for the central romance, given she was so badly mistreated. I kept waiting for "something more" from the leading man without quite knowing what that should be.

It was a thoroughly decent read, but it wasn't my favourite by this author.

What's the worst thing that could happen to a blushing bride?
Left at the altar by her fiancé Jason, Zoe can't stay around the pitying looks of her friends and family. She heads to the US, employed as a nanny by singledad Ryan.
While she quickly wins over his children, her moody, difficult but devastatingly sexy boss is more of a challenge. The way she embarasses herself infront of him - and hs colleagues - doesn't help.
But her colourful circle of Nanny-Friends with fun-loving Trudie, Hippie Amber and chilly, sophisticated Felicity, helps her keep sane.
Until Zoe and Ryan learn to understand each other, just at the same time she realizes that the pasn't isn't easy to escape, no matter how far away you go.

This romantic comedy makes a fun and quick read. It's entertaining, the story has a nice flow and the cheesy romantic parts are interrupted often enough by a lot of embarassing - and mostly hilarous - moments. Some of them were way over the top though.

The characters are real and relatable, at least most of them, most of the time.
I like how Ryan went from arrogant, emotionally detached and permanently angry to the good guy he is but a lot about this also irritated me. How poorly he behaved around his beyond adorable kids, for example.
It made the story but her thinking, how she'll not let him walk all over her but does, how she doesn't set boundaries and doesn't speak up for the sake of these kids, that left a bitter taste.

Then there's her former best friend, who somehow chose sites and chose wrong, her horribly behaving mother, the fat-shaming.
I get that and it's not bad that this book was written this way, with so many people showing their most hideous traights, but it's bad that most of these things never got called out. How can these things not become an issue?
And as much as I could relate at some point I was just so over her obsessing over the idea of loving Jason.

The love letters from Juliet were hilarious (and sad at the same time). And I loved how her talking about her past has a whole different vibe from the funny take on her current situation.

Maybe I'm too critical of such a light read but as much as I enjoyed parts of this, parts of it really hit me the wrong way.

The worst Costello book I read and one of the worst chick lit books To boot. It was so over the top impossibly improbably annoying I just coundnt believe my eyes. The Ryan character does not make one sense- some kind of schizophrenic dude with split personality disorder, Zoe is so angelic it made me nauseous, the kids are annoyingly perfect and adult sounding and don't even get me started on Zoe's mum who is just ridiculous hippie-gangsta-overprotective (weirdest combination ever).

No more chick lit for a while. I even prefer Fiery-never ending - Cross.

"Aşa a început. După şapte ani eram tot împreună, tot – am
presupus eu – foarte îndrăgostiţi. Dar s-a dovedit că îmi
imaginasem multe lucruri.

Blurb From Amazon

What's the worst thing that could happen to a blushing bride? To somebody warm, loving, and fun - like Zoe Moore? When she finds herself jilted at the altar by her fiance Jason, Zoe knows she doesn't deserve this heartache and humiliation. Unable to face the pitying faces of her friends and family, Zoe takes drastic action: she flees to America. Specifically, to Boston, where she takes up a post as nanny to five-year-old Ruby Miller and her little brother Samuel. Ruby and Samuel have lost their mother in an accident. They may as well have lost their father, too, for Ryan Miller is so wrapped-up in his grief that he barely notices his two attention-starved children. As Zoe sets about tidying up Ruby and Sam's home, and injecting some fun back into their lives, she finds herself gaining their trust and love. At the same time, Zoe grows more and more frustrated with Ryan's bullying behaviour, and his shameful neglect. Whatever happened to the loving man she keeps hearing about from his neighbours? Zoe can't find any sign of him. The only thing saving Zoe from despair is the small, close-knit group of British nannies who quickly befriend her. There's boisterous Trudie, man-mad but hiding a painful secret; Sloanie traveller Amber, who sports a Buddhist tattoo that, unbeknownst to her, reads 'Batteries Not Included'. And chilly, tight-lipped Felicity, whose cut-glass voice gives little away. But will these new friends be able to save Zoe, when she discovers that the past isn't all that easy to escape, no matter how far you go?

My Review

Zoe is heading to America as a live in nanny after being left at the alter by her would be husband. She is devastated but ready to move on after months of silence and no explanation from her would be hubby. She meets the employer from hell, he is dismissive, arrogant and utterly gorgeous but a nightmare to live with and the house is a dump however his two children are beautiful and well she isn't there for him anyway.

Oh how Zoe made me laugh out loud reading this. You go on a roller coaster journey of laughs, tears and oh my Gods. She reminded me of Bridget Jones only more of a liability. It isn't my usual kind of book and definitely chick lit, perfect for a holiday read or something to get you over readers block.

Some of it was a bit predictable but that didn't detract from the enjoyment really (although I did find myself saying really?!?!? a few times). I read it almost in one sitting and it got me through my flight really quickly with a few laughs and hair raising moments so 4/5 for me. My first encounter with this author and I would read her again.

A fun and charming read.

I found Zoe character is too good too be true, it's nearly unreal for someone to be that kind-heart, incredibly patient and wise. Working as a governess for a family with no mother and careless father, she's amazing with the kids. Although the writer de-graced her by her clumsiness and wicked wardrobe, I can't help to love her for her warm heart and beautiful soul.

While Ryan Miller, the bittersoul widower is a man-whore who for his griefing and losing soul had slept with every women around him. And except for his 'world-class' arse and his deep devotion for his gone wife, I just didn't find him good enough for Zoe.

Being recently broken heart and humiliated in front of the altar by her boyfriend, Zoe still couldn't help to admire her boss' good looking even when she found his attitude was so annoying as a father an employer. Although at the end he did the right things to win Zoe's heart, I didn't really swooned by his acts especially in early chapters.
But the good part of Zoe character is her right decision to put an act everytime Ryan strucked her nerve. Oh, she's very patient and calm, always tried to do her best even when her boss never thanked her for her great effort on taking care of his children and house. But when it's too much and she started yelling out loud, it's hilarious and I always end up laugh hard or cry "BRAVO, Zoe!"

Overall the book is nice, fun and entertaining you'll put a smile at the end of it.

I read a few Costello's books and this one is the best one by far. I am a fan of Brit humor and the book did not disappoint. It's a story about English woman who got stud up at the wedding so, to put some distance between them, she takes a babysitting job in US. The problem arise the moment she comes out of the plane-the agency changed the family she was suppose to go to. Of course, her new family is a bit different. The kids are great but the dad...hot stuff all the way. Widower and angry, fooling around to get buy the grief. And then she comes in, clumsy, slightly frustrated, great with kids but she found her self attracted to the angry player. The book is funny, filled with great characters, aside from the two main ones, warm, endearing at times, but still keeping it real. Great, great read!

Disappointing . I had my doubts about this book since the first chapter, but I persisted. On the third I was fed up with all the blabbering these characters do. If the editor had cut the unnecessary comparisons, the book would be like 40 pages, and infinitely more satisfactory. Since I had never read anything from this writer, I decided to finish it, at least so I could form an opinion about her writing. And that I have. I'm not buying anything from her again. Didn't like the plot, hated the writing, and the end was just too lame. For that matter, the begging and all the in between were disappointing too.

After reading "Girl on the Run" and falling deeply in love with Jane Costello I just had to read "The Nearly-Weds". But so far, the book and characters isn't as funny and enjoyable as Girl on the Run. I'm a bit disappointed. I did laugh on some parts, take chapter 30 for example LOL but all in all, I'm not a fan of this book, it's cute but not amazing.

This is ine of those books that draws you in and gives you a great story to keep reading.
Zoe is left at the altar. She decides to go to the US regroup and deal with this unforeseen event.
Fryan is a single dad to Teo wonderful children - Ruby and Samuel. He is trying to deal with hus wife's passing and raising two children.
Enter Zoe. She becomes the nanny to these two precious children.
It was nice to watch these two slowly realize that they may be something more than just nanny/boss. And of course sweetchildren always bring a side to the story that makes your heart zing.
This is definitely a good rom-com. The characters, while Ryan initially has an grumpy edge, are extremely likeable.

Another book of Jane Costello that was just a real pleasure and fun to read!
As always - the main character is just superb, a person that I'd like to be a friend with. So human and so normal, so funny and so clumsy, and all the "bad" things, there were actually so funny, happened to her, which made her so, so real. Zoe's mum has irritated me a little when she was pushing her daughter so much to the second wedding, but then she has rehabilitated herself. The children: Ruby and Samuel were drawn so good, I'd like to have such children of my own! The friends of Zoe in America were also superb, they have their depths and problems, but were also so human.
As for the males characters... Hmmm... Let's just say that at the beginning Ryan just played with my nerves. He was so distant and unfriendly - which, considering the circumstances, may be logical, but anyway he didn't need to be so aggressive towards Zoe. It was not good that Zoe couldn't stand to him and never told him what she was going to say and explain, I think it was the only thing in this book that I didn't like at all, I mean, heloooo, Zoe, you are a strong girl, just tell him what your problem is, and don't forget the laundry especially!
The writing is, as usually, so simple to get into, with a lot of funny moments, but interspersed with serious moments as well, especially the one when Samuel has a serious accident. This book has me hooked from the very first page, was easy to follow and I just couldn't wait what is going to happen next!
What is significant too, is that the book is settled finally not in NeW York, but in Boston. I like a change of scene sometimes:)
This book is really worth reading and I'm waiting for the next Costello's book!

I liked the book, Zoe was a great character but for fucks sake she lacked a backbone and Ryan was a mega-asshole. There were many times I wanted ZOE to scream at Ryan but of course she doesn't, and she kept saying she "wouldn't let him walk over her", but that's all she did.
I wish there was more moments between Ryan and Zoe because everything just felt a little too fast for my liking. I loved Sam and Ruby, and even Tracy.
I hate how Zoe's mum and how over-bearing she is, that shit gets on my nerves, and I just wished that Zoe just told everyone to Shut the fuck up. Just once would I have loved her to say that instead of being so patient.
For 92 chapters, it wasn't that long, I mean there were several chapters that were 1/1.5 pages long, and there could have been so much more written about Zoe and Ryan's relationship.
I hated Jason, and I hated how Zoe immediately went back to him after his shitty apology, and I hate that she nearly went through with the wedding. Her mother once again is an annoying fuck.
The ending was pretty abrupt, I mean there could have been an extra chapter at least with a reunion with Ruby and Sam.

I did enjoy the book, but there was so much potential for it to be much better.

Finishing this, I feel like I've conquered the whole world cause Holy Hell was this long!

Okay, it wasn't.
Not really.
For God's sake, I'm infinetly happy finishing Kristen Ashley novels and those are certifiably long!

So, this was draggy, I guess.
It was slow, kinda average and exactly like life itself.

And that put me off.
I'm not looking to read what I'm already living, you get me?
My books are what I vicariously live through, so sue me but I wanted different.
That being said, I'm not British, a nanny or left at the alter. :P

Cute romance

I generally really enjoyed this book, my only gripe is the dialogue used ' instead of ". So it read 'the sun is hot,' she said instead of "the sun is hot," she said.
