마왕의 보상은, 마왕과 은밀히 협력한다면 여신과 똑같은 보상을 약속하되 상위 10위까지의 용사를 모두 죽인다면 99층까지 전송시켜 준다는 내용. 공자는 과거 같은 루트를 밟았을 ‘염제’를 떠올리며 마왕의 보상이 순순하지 않다는 걸 눈치채고 전체적인 상황 파악을 위해 아무런 역할도 선택하지 않는다. 과연 이 선택은 옳은 것일까? 또 함께 12층이 진입한 헌터들도 공자와 같은 선택을 할까?

Volume 3
Chapters 50-74

I read until chap 70, and I had to force myself to read the last 5 chap. Also looked at chap 80 before dnf, and I didn't think the plot got better.

The first 2 volumes were awesome and not repetive even though he was constantly traveling 24 hours back in time.
The art style is super gorgeous and with scenes illustrated in a way I've never seen before. They were so good it made me want to learn how to draw that way

Him starting to learn demonic arts just made no sense since all he did was save people.
And the way he learned the demonic fighting styles made even less sense. Basically, he let himself get killed and experienced the memory of the ones that killed him. For the famine one, we were told different stories of people that died cuz of starvation, and it had various problems :
1. It's the same story told in the same way, which makes it boring and repetitive and just made me want to skip reading it.
2. The art style didn't help cuz the people were drawn without faces. How am I supposed to care about their story and how they died when they were random faceless people.
3. The story itself said he didn't need to experience more deaths cuz he learned everything he needed to learn, but them main character said, " No, let's experience all of them." Just to show more of the same.
4 final straw was those boring pages were just the first style out of 7 or 8 he needed to learn. I am not doing 10 more chap of the same shit

The way it hooked me from the start but got better and better but has pockets of moments that makes you feel something

Level 21 is the best arc in the story that's to come but this one lays down that foundation nicely with the guild leader intros

Sidenote: I love the pharmacist she deserves everything <3

5/25 Wasn't as impressed with this volume - the current roleplay floors aren't that interesting. But I'm still invested in this enough to continue the series. So far.
