Grown in water, born to fire, she has to find a place for her particular brand of heat to have room to move.
As the first of the rescued clones to hatch out of her tank, One has to name herself, identify her particular brand of magic, and learn about the world she has been born into.
Her guardian sets her up with a wardrobe, an identity, and a mentor who can help her tame and focus the fire she can summon.
Working with the frost dragon and a non-human is different, but since she is less than a month old with an ancient soul, everything is different. The world around her is a wonder, and learning to call the fire from the depths is a skill she has to master if she is going to be allowed to travel or even live on her own.
Time is a factor, and lives are on the line. She can either tame the flame or let it take over. Decisions, decisions.
The Covert Dragon series is my favorite by Viola Grace. So much so that I waited 3 years for her to continue it. Dragon Aflame was definitely worth the wait.
I suggest starting this series from the beginning. Or you'll miss out. What I love about this series is the great friendships, girl power, and importance of sisterhood. The world-building is great and expands with each book. The characters are always interesting. I enjoy that Ms. Grace revisits characters from previous books, and we get to see their progress.
In this newest book, we meet one of the clones brought back from the valley. I'm really looking forward to meeting her sisters.
I have been patiently waiting for another book about Trin and all her friends and this book does not disappoint. I would very much recommend this book to those who enjoy kick butt women, sisterhood camaraderie, and laughter. This book did not disappoint. Thank you for a great read, reread, and consistent companion.
I enjoyed reading this book but wished it was longer . I'm waiting impatiently for the next book and more information on other places that dragon's are emerging.
Definitely not the best book of this series. Parts of it appeared to be missing, to the detriment of the story. For example, at one point she is drinking coffee, and then she's waking up days later, without any indication that there was an issue. Very odd addition to the series.
I really enjoyed this book. The build out of the main female dragon was very well written. The implications of how everyone is connected is really good.
I was waiting for this part of the Covert Dragons series to come out. It lives up to the earlier books in the series and makes for an excellent lead to the next two!
