Revenge is a Dangerous Obsession

Dean Hunt needs the story of a lifetime—Since his uncompromising attitude got him fired, the investigative journalist is hell-bent to expose the powerful and corrupt Conway family. It’s a career move, and absolutely not a vendetta against the oldest son Noel, who ghosted Dean after a mind-blowing weekend together.

Noel Conway needs a new start—After years away, Noel has come home to rebuild the bridges he’s burned. Too bad his past caused a ripple effect he can’t outrun. Now, he’s asked to save his family from the one man he never expected to see again but can’t forget.

Dean is chasing front-page news, and Noel is trying to protect the ones he loves. But the line between enemies and lovers gets blurred when a dangerous criminal from Noel’s past resurfaces. Will the truth shatter their tentative trust? Or do they have a shot at happily ever after?

But none of that matters when suddenly Noel disappears…

Down the Line, the final book in the award-winning Jake’s Bar series, is a spicy, M/M romantic suspense featuring a rainbow-colored bar full of quirky characters, and all the romance you can handle. So, download today, and get ready to fall in love with Jake’s Bar.

Down the Line - Forged in Fire and Steel

“You know why I noticed you in a room full of more than a hundred people?” Dean asked. “Because you helped the server, who slipped on whatever, pick up a few broken glasses. The poor guy looked like he wanted to sink into the ground, but you laughed and joked and in your three-thousand-dollar suit helped him clean up. Don’t listen to your father. Stop judging yourself through his eyes, Noel. Because his judgement says a whole lot more about him than it says about you.”

I was both thrilled and saddened to read AG Meiers’ 4th and final (please say it isn’t so) book in her Jake’s Bar series. Down the Line is a brilliant addition that focuses on older brother playboy Noel and journalist Dean and their hard fought relationship journey.

Family ties are strong, whether they are supportive or detrimental, and we are privy to so much action, in front of and behind the scenes, in these sometimes catastrophic mysteries. Police undercover, mafia, the rich and powerful, all connect to the Conway family, with greed as an underlier.

Out of the flames rise the phoenix of Noel and Dean’s loyalty, love, and care for each other. Sibling ties gain strength, found family at Jake’s Bar continues to shine brightly, and Meiers pulls us through some horrific times to place us in a happier and well-deserved finale.

My wish? To see more of these characters find their special people.

New favorite? With this series, it’s really hard to say. Each book is so different, but it’s always a fabulous suspenseful plot, well written. and great characters. I need to plan carefully when I start an AG Meiers’ book, because once I start, I won’t put it down.

I love Dean’s passion and Noel’s quiet soft strength. After a whirlwind romance with an ugly ending, they are thrown together to stop a dangerous criminal from going after Noel’s younger brother (and if you know the series you know it’s Miguel Conway from the first book). The romance in Down the Line is a little more of a slow burn than the previous stories, but I agree with other reviewers, the chemistry between Dean and Noel is off the chart. Red hot!

I’m sad to see the Jake's Bar series end, but it's a great ending and a wonderful story gets you there.

Great wrapup to a great series! We finally get to know Noel, the eldest Conway, and learn more about Dean Hunt, the journalist. There's a lot going on in their journey, in the whole JD Bar journey, so this book really can't be read as a standalone. Threads have been woven throughout the prior three books and AG pulls them together to make a lovely tapestry of healing, learning to love, learning to break away, finding family again, and making a new family. While this is Noel and Dean's story, we get all the other bar denizens as well. Yes, even Sheldon and Jazz, love those two! AG, I know you say this is the end, but what about the two construction workers???

Dean does not go into this book with good intentions where Noel is concerned! Noel is going to learn what deep romantic feelings really are. Noel wants to make amends with his family and Dean wants a story about Noel's controversial family. These two were Intense to put it lightly. I enjoyed that the drama was high here, but still balanced with the loyalty to family. I hope we get something in the future with all of these couples. Noel and Dean definitely sent the series out with some fireworks though!

Wow! What an ending to Jake’s Bar! I’m slightly sad this series is over, I want to go and live with the people from this series! 🤣

Two words: Revenge Plot 😱🤯

This book is Dean and Noel’s story and these two guys are incredible!
There is so much that happens in this book a page turner that keeps you going and wondering what is going to happen next!

Dean and Noel have their love and loyalty “tested” and proven which I found amazing, and like real life they have to go through ups and downs before they get the HEA

The final installment of the Jake’s Bar series is so intense. Lots of drama and intrigue, lots of family angst and lots of love. Noel and Dean are such a fantastic couple with so much heartbreak in their pasts. Together they can build each other up and take care of one another forever. Great series, great final book.

Another one to tug the heartstrings, with Noel being fairly self destructive most of the way through.
Dean has to forgive and accept Noel, as well as Noel forgiving himself for his past ways - though neither will forgive Noel's parents.
The whole Jake's Bar gang come together to finally give Romano his just desserts though not without pain for Noel

What a finish to a great series, I have loved each book but i think this one was my favourite. Noel and Dean were just brilliant but they did put you though it.

*Noel’s frozen heart had lost a beat or two when a tipsy Dean—naked in his arms—had shared his dreams and hopes in halting whispers.*

a warm and fuzzy read

This ending to the series has a special meaning for all the characters involved. It’s terrific to read the stories and realize they have made peace with themselves. It’s what we all wish for and deserve.

This is the fourth and last book in the Jake's Bar series and what an ending it was. This was a drama filled, intense read about Dean and Noel.

I loved all the characters if Jake's bar. But I have to say something about this book just did it for me.
Yes I loved all the characters (especially getting to see more Sheldon because he's a favorite) but there is so much going on. Family drama, intrique, twists, the. Oh wow what a shocking ending.
I'm hoping g though yes I can see this as a final Jake's bar but what about a spinoff .. one with the new theater and perhaps those construction workers?and perhaps another witha Mafia twist? Lol. Hey it doesn't hurt to ask...beg lol
