Five strangers are stranded at a coffee shop on New Year’s Eve when their car keys mysteriously vanish. If barista Betti doesn't figure out who’s responsible, her New Year’s Eve plans will be ruined.
This short novella is a prequel to Clueless at the Coffee Station (coming 2024), the first book in a new cozy mystery series.
Keyless at the Coffee Station previously appeared in Riddles, Resolutions and A Limited Edition Cozy Mystery Anthology.
I just wanted a short story to read on New Year's Day and I wanted it set around New Year's Eve. This one checked all the boxes for me. It's a cute story about a group of strangers thrown together for NYE and trying to make the best of it until they can leave. For some reason, they all lost their car keys and can't leave the coffee shop just yet. Betti Bryant is determined to solve this mystery so her own New Year's Eve plans won't be ruined. It's not easy being the barista of the coffee shop.
This is a prequel and is a great introduction to Betti Bryant. I'll be sure to check out the rest of the series.
This is a good mystery. Everyone's keys have gone missing. Is the magician responsible? I own a copy of this book which was free on Kindle. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
I don't usually read cozy mysteries but I was gifted this one and I truly wish it hadn't been a novella! I loved the characters in this short story and found myself wishing there was a longer version. The author did a good job of introducing us to the cast of characters without going too deep because, after all, it was a novella and there wasn't time but I hope she writes more about these people and their further adventures!
Intriguing story about an odd collection of people
New Year's Eve and Betti just wants to close the coffee shop and go to her boyfriend's gig. But 3 customers aren't in a hurry to leave, nor is the second worker. What starts as an inconvenience turns into a delightful evening ending with new and unexpected renewed connections.
Cute short story. How did everyone lose their keys at the same time? I read this as part of an anthology. Glad it's now released on its own. If you're looking for a quick and fun story, you won't be disappointed with this.
Littlefield’s Keyless at the Coffee Station is a cozy mystery with fun and quirky characters. I love Betti’s scrapbooking hobby, and the coffee station is a place that I can see myself hanging out reading and drinking endless cups of coffee. This was a fun prequel, and I’m already looking forward to reading Clueless at the Coffee Station!
Brilliantly entertaining whodunnit , an awesome character makes a debut in this short story mystery. A triumph! Brilliantly penned and executed . Great descriptions and well written mystery that keeps you guessing the mystery. I read an advance of this book and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
Such a cute prequel to the series! I enjoyed meeting Anders a little better and getting to know a version of Zac that showed why Betti fell for him. A nice addition!
