Knot Our Arrangement: An Alien Shifter Romance

Rate this book
Strange things happen in the town of Hollow Trails. Murders, disappearances, and strange noises lurking in the woods. Campfire ghost stories for generations have talked about the town being infested with aliens that were once men, experimented on by the government until they became monsters.

Violet Chambers had just never believed the gossip and rumors about the town, not until she found herself at the mercy of one of the creatures for a month long fling.

Adler Lewis knew the rumors, he was a part of them, but what he didn't expect was for a woman to accept both versions of him. That's why Violet is the perfect pet, he purchased her company for the month, making her see the good and the bad of getting into bed with an alien.

This book dives into pet play and a full master and slave dynamic. Check the triggers before diving in and most importantly, enjoy!

Knot Our Arrangement is the first in a series of interconnected standalones and can be read by itself.

Honestly the book was only enjoyable from chapters 29 until the end. But even the end was abrupt. For me basically, only 22 pages out of the 211 were good.
Things I didn't like:
- The Master/slave thing really isn't my thing. Nor is heavy BDSM. This read mostly as sadistic abuse.
- It was heavy on the humiliation
- Having Violet clean her used butt plug with her mouth was, imo just plain disgusting.
- There was the bare minimum of softness and care.
- It was annoying how weak and how much of a doormat Violet's character ended up being

Adler & Violet: A Dynamic That Changed Both Their Lives

I tend to stay away from most books featuring a BDSM dynamic because they are either a reach or utterly ridiculous. This book is neither and I loved it. This book was actually very well written.

We meet Violet, a sex worker who rents a room at a brothel where she meets a new client, a mysterious, gorgeous man named Adler upon leaving. She agrees to go back to his house to complete their "transaction" and she finds out that he is “more” than just a man. He is in fact a man, possessed by an alien being that he can shift into at will.

After several very defiling acts confirm this, Violet can't help but admit she enjoyed the shenanigans that took place. The morning after, Adler makes her a proposition: be his pet for the next 30 days and he’ll pay her $50K. She agrees and this is where things change... drastically. Violet discovers that Adele’s tastes range from lewd to downright degrading. She wonders if she may be in over her head. Or... is this the type of role she feels she finds comfort in and has been waiting for?

This was a different type of retelling. This was based off of the movie Pretty Woman. If you're familiar with the movie, picture it in a BDSM dynamic... an extreme BDSM dynamic with some non-con, dub-con, and lots of sharing involved.

This book was VERY spicy. There are many triggers in this book as it is a fantasy paranormal but based on a full-blown, realistic, Master/pet dynamic. The heroine is treated as a possession and if you have a problem with this, then take a pass on this one.

But, if you always wanted to see an alternative version of the cult classic movie, and BDSM is your thing, you will enjoy this book as much as I did!

“M.C. Luna is such an engaging writer who has a knack for putting you directly in the driver’s seat of her characters. You feel what they feel and for some reason, empathize with them and their dark thoughts. This is the second book of hers where I chose the “morally gray guy”, Adler to win. I’m starting to wonder; am I really as dark as her characters or is she and her writing style just that brilliant? I’m betting on the latter, for my own sanity's sake! 😂

Another wonderful book! If you’re looking for super-spicy. Buckle up! This one’s a hell of a ride!

Happy reading!

Good gods, the 🌶️ was off the charts. 200 pages of CONCENTRATED 🌶️. Definitely a big dub-con warning for the beginning, which I feel is intentional to draw the scene in which it happens, but good lord I just kept having to turn the page for more. The only reason this isn't 5/5 is because there were just some hard cuts and flow issues that kinda threw me off here and there, and the HEA felt a smidge rushed. Not to a wholly dissatisfying degree, but I would have liked it to be padded out a couple pages more. A little more gush to it. Great one otherwise though, and with a *lot* of 🪢from cover to cover.

(note: not really complaining here, just some light ribbing) Really disappointed the final mating implied by the ending wasn't written out though. Ya girl *needs* that bite in all of its painful, excruciating detail. Consummate the HEA ffs. You just wrote 200 pages of literally 90% spice. Throw one last cool-down scene please. The spice was so good. A little knotcap to tie it all off. Pls. I beg.

Also, the entire sub-plot about the experimentation lab? That idea has LEGS for a sequel/spin-off. Even if there's not that much spice, I could go for another 200+ pages of just that. Feels like there's something good there. Obv a drastic shift in tone but the concept has me intrigued.

98 % pure smut. Very little plot. And what plot there is...rushed and largely unimportant or a waste of words. And while it's got nothing but spice....THE spice scene you spend the whole book waiting for never happens. It feels like a cliffhanger ending, except there is no book 2. I can't give a book with no plot higher than a 2. I may have given it a 3 if the mating scene had happened at the end, but the end just felt like we relied way too hard on pretty woman.

Yeaaaa i liked this book A LOTTTT!!

never read a book like this tbh with alien/shifter and a human but fckkkk it was hot af that had me wanting to be the human in this book 😏

the dynamic between the MCs develops throughout the book as the relationship of what they agreed upon became a more and feelings start to mix. the smut keeps on giving.

I would like a another one please 🛐

Knotted pet

Actually a really fun book
Hooker is hired for a month as a pet, free to use however he wants and no rules (well none from her.. she gets to do whatever he says!)
The way he cared for her during her period though! So darned cute!
And the inner voice of his alien was hilarious

Gah. I need a billionaire alien

This was delicious.

Read the triggers.

I loved the connection between the two and the group using scenes.

I give 4 out of 5 because there needed to be a little more plot for the HEA.

But loved it. Highly recommended

Holy smokes this was so good.
Read the blurb, check TW. This book is exactly what it says it is - and it did not disappoint! It’s basically pure smut, but sometimes that’s just what we want am I right? Quick read that makes you want more and more and more.

nope

I don’t know how you care for someone, fall in love, but share her with 10 other men. He lets them hurt her too.

I mean this was unhinged smut. While it wasn’t my cup of tea, there is a ton on non con dub con and honestly it seemed like he was torturing her… it felt cringy to read for me. This is probably the most unhinged dark romance I’ve ever read, it ranks up there with the prequel to haunting Adeline.

That being said it was well written edited and the story moved quickly. So I’m giving it a solid 3.5 starts and 5 chilis. If you like dark unhinged characters then you are in luck and yes he does her in his monster form.
